Reece Wilde put everything in his life on the backburner to protect his brothers and their struggling company, Wilde Security. With a major contract on the line, Reece can't afford any mistakes...like getting caught in a red-hot, X-rated moment with wild child Shelby Bremer, who's more trouble than he can handle. Now he's being blackmailed.
Shelby's mile-long impulsive streak gets her in more trouble than she'd like to admit. Between her sister's wedding, her coffee shop set on fire, and getting down and dirty with the groom's brother, things are definitely coming off the rails. With both their careers and their safety on the line, Reece is determined to keep them both safe...even if it means a Vegas-style shotgun wedding.
But gambling on a wild card—and a wild soul—is risky...and sometimes, it can get a guy killed.
Tonya Burrows wrote her first romance at age thirteen and hasn't put down her pen since. Originally from a small town in Western New York, she suffers from a bad case of wanderlust and is still searching for a place to call home. She shares her adventures with her husband, two adorable doodles, and Scribble the Writer Cat.
When she's not writing about hunky military heroes and their courageous K9s, Tonya can be found watching either true crime or baking shows while snuggled up on the couch with her furbabies. She also enjoys traveling—especially long road trips to see the National Parks.

Reece Wilde is the serious, practical one of the brothers so when he is inexplicably drawn to the unconventional, offbeat Shelby Bremer, even he questions his sanity. She's also got a terrible reputation for secrecy and lying, one she admits to having earned.
It took me a while but somewhere during the story these two connected with me emotionally. There's a lot going on and finding the convergences weren't easy, especially with Shelby's duplicity. But, I just couldn't help liking her, with her tattoos, turquoise and purple hair and zest for life. I also liked that Reece loved the true Shelby and appreciated her uniqueness. Sister Eva comes off poorly here, taking off quite a bit of her shine.
I liked this story and all the associated mystery. It also sets up the next stories very well. Still enjoying this series and these interesting brothers.
(I received an ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review)
Reece is the nerdy, quiet brother and not near as amazing as his other brothers. (You can do nerdy tech guy as hot. Just look at Parker in Black Dawn by Cristin Harber.) e was just whiny to me. I didn't really have a problem with Shelby, but with her sister Eva who marries Cam Wilde. Shelby just needed to smack Eva for the way Eva talked and treated her. I kept reading just to see more of Greer and Vaughn, the last two brothers.
Reese is the most responsible of the Wilde brothers and he works all the hours possible to make sure the family is financially secure. He's a tech geek and his heart belongs with his own software company rather than the family's security firm but Wilde Security can't survive without his investment and it's causing a lack of funds within his own business. His only hope is to secure more financial backing but his rich potential investor has some very conservative ideas and Reese has to keep his nose clean until the deal is signed. The last thing he needs is to get involved with wild child Shelby. It's bad enough that she's his little brother's sister-in-law but her it's her knack for finding trouble that is likely to get him into trouble. Unfortunately, after getting caught on camera at the worst possible moment Reese is now facing a potential scandal unless he can get a blackmailer off his back.
Shelby didn't have the best childhood and she made more than a few mistakes of her own but she has tried desperately to turn her life around. She has a reputation as a trouble maker but she's actually a lot more sensible than everyone gives her credit for, she's also hard working, intelligent and determined to stand on her own two feet. She's been crushing on Reese since the moment she first saw him but she is keeping so many secrets that she knows she has no hope of holding on to a relationship with him. Shelby is stuck between a rock and a hard place, she's trying so hard to do the right thing but someone has power over her and they aren't willing to let her walk away from her old life completely.
I really enjoyed getting to know these two, they are complete opposites but in spite of all their differences they're actually pretty perfect for each other. Reese can be too buttoned down and reserved while Shelby is more outrageous and fun loving but together they are much more balanced. I have to admit there were times when I was annoyed at the way Reese tried to change Shelby but that didn't last long and once he realised how special she was I loved the way he encouraged her to be herself and showed her how important she was to him. Nobody has ever really put Shelby first and it was nice to see Reese was the one who would finally break that pattern.
Wilde at Heart was a great romance with a nice amount of mystery and suspense, there is danger at every turn as the couple are trying to unravel a blackmail plot as well as figure out who is behind a spate of arson attacks all while trying to play the part of a respectable couple to woo Reese's potential investor. It was nice to catch up with the other Wilde brothers too, we see how the previous couples are getting along and also got to know the others a little better. I have very high hopes for the rest of the series and I can't wait to see them all get their own happily ever after.
1 - "Word of advice, stay away from the poker tables. A blind man could read your tells." Star.

It pains me to write this sum up. Wilde at Heart has been a long anticipated book on my TBR, so starting it was meant to be my weekend highlight. It may be a case of 'it's not you, it's me but something felt seriously off for me with this book from the beginning.
"You can't tarnish something that was never polished to begin with."
I struggled with both Reece and Shelby as people, and if I am being honest the chemistry between them, felt pretty non-existent, even during their hot and heavy moments.
Changing who you are to please someone else never works."
There is so much going on in this book it is hard at points to work out what is meant to be the focal point and who is actually relevant to the situation. The are a few sub-plots going on as well, and it all just felt overly busy. Personally one of the problems they were dealing with would have been enough, but you have all the added drama of the rest of the Wilde family included in this one, it felt like it was much, much more than the previous books, and too much for most of this one.
My other issue, is the way everyone treated each other in this book, Eva in particular (Shelby''s sister, now married to Cam Wilde) if my sister spoke to me, and disrespected me the way she did to Shelby, irrispective of it being true or not, we would not be talking, and punches would likely have been thrown in the route to this. I just found everyone so judgmental in this book.
I am sure I will be in the minority with my feelings, and I hate that I didn't love this book. I feel like I have been waiting forever for it, and I have hope that this is just a blip in the Wilde Security series overall, as I have a huge soft spot for the Wilde brothers.
ARC generously provided via Netgalley, I am sorry I cannot offer a more positive review on this occasion.
This was akin to a roller coaster riding experience; the gritted teeth, the yelling, seconds of relief before going through all the feeling back again - over and over.
The thing foremost in my head throughout reading: for a bunch of hunk-a-drools made business in security, the hero and his brothers were rather bad at securing their own possessions. Aside from the fires (Yes, plural!) and materials the blackmailer was able to access, Reece seemed too gullible. He's a geek who was more comfortable crunching numbers and played with computers. But a geek who did security business should had been more alert and circumspect of his surroundings. Even "I" could guess the culprit behind the blackmails.
Initially I wasn't too impressed with Shelby, the anti-heroine of this story, them I grudgingly started to like her. Coming from the wrong side of tracks parents, doing things not so kosher herself, she made a new start for herself, tried to made the most of any situations and not easily intimidated by others.
ALTHOUGH her weaknesses when it came to Reece and sex were just eye-rolled-ly typical. The same went for Reece too, who always seemed to sport a hard-on whenever Shelby's in the vicinity. Personally I could do without most of the graphic sex scenes. Not that I'm against erotica, smut or such; but there's a point when too much was TOO MUCH. Plus the pull and push, fire and ice attitudes... Those became OLD as the story went on.
What I also found contradictory was the connections between the brothers. It was implied that they were close, but that was not what I see here. In fact, as cute as Sam the Cat was and as great as Reece was for putting him up for his brother I thought it strange that said brother never once pay a visit to the cat. On behalf of Sam the Cat, I'm incensed!
So overall this was a so so read for me. With the uplifting moments mostly came with the pets - Sam the Cat and Poe the Parrot - on the scenes.

One-Sentence Summary: It's not paranoia if people actually are out to get you ....
Review: Well, this was a big fat disappointment. After having to wait 2 years for the latest installment in the Wilde series, I was practically salivating at the thought of another awesome addition the series.
Instead we got this.
It wasn’t AWFUL per say, and maybe my standards are just ridiculously high, but this book just did absolutely nothing for me.
Some things that irritated me:
1. WTF is Greer’s deal?! His brother ends up in hospital and when poor wounded Reese gives him a call he’s basically like “yeah, I knew everything that was going on” but he didn’t think to share that piece of information with his brother?!
2. Vaughan’s obsession with Lara is more than stalkerish. Did we even meet her? I presume so but cannot remember. And some joke about considering suicide by pulling the parachute too late. Not funny.
3. Reese's finance issues seemed to sort themselves out remarkably easily at the end given the burden they'd been causing him for the whole book.
4.
5. Shelby and Reese themselves - I was completely uninvested.
6. Shelby's crazy ass Mum and judgmental sister Eva (the latter broke my heart because I loved her book).

In order to protect his brothers and their struggling company Reece Wilde makes a bargain with wild child Shelby Bremer but gambling on a wild card is risky and sometimes it can get a guy killed in this exciting romantic suspense.
Shelby’s impulsive streak gets her in trouble every time and things are definitely coming off the rails and the reader can’t help but get caught up in all the excitement of this wild romance. The chemistry is hot and the sex scenes are scorching and wild but this romance is chock full of secrets, emotional issues and outside influences that keep the romance teetering on the edge of disaster every step of the way. The characters are strong and demand the reader’s attention from the very beginning while the fast paced, smooth flowing plot thrills readers with lots of suspense, excitement and romance.
Excitement builds as Reece and Shelby give in to temptation and things snowball into chaos and confusion especially since Reece and Shelby are both conflicted about building a relationship and with blackmail and fires around every corner, tension continuously builds throughout the story keeping the readers on the edge of their seat with anticipation. The well written scenes and details capture the imagination and bring the story to life while the exhilarating and intriguing events draw the reader in and ensure that there is never a dull moment.
Reece and Shelby captured my heart and I was completely caught up in their story and while they are completely opposite in personalities they make a great couple. I haven’t read the Previous Wilde brothers’ books but if they are anything like this one then I have to say that I have missed out on quite a bit of intrigue and excitement and did I mention that they are strike me as being sexy and yummy and I can’t wait to get me another taste of Wilde.
Reece Wilder is a self-proclaimed workaholic, he spends every spare minute he has either working at his own company or helping out with his brothers' struggling security company. After losing their parents he felt the need to step up and look-out for his siblings, and has put everything in his life on hold, which has lead him to have a fairly non-existent social life. Part of his family duties include looking after his soon to be sister in laws little sister, she tends to be a magnet for trouble and so the Wilde men have taken it upon themselves to watch out for her and try and keep her safe. Reece however has taken a special interest in her, the kind that could get this straight-laced business man in a heap of trouble!!
Shelby Bremer has the worst luck, she can't seem to shake trouble no matter what she does, it's as if she is a trouble magnet. She craves a normal life like her sister has, but no matter how much she tries, it never seems like it will be obtainable for her, which leaves her feeling like a eternal failure. The Wilde men have taken her under their protective wing, and are trying their best to look out for her and keep her safe, but trouble is still lurking at every corner. She notices that Reece has been paying extra special attention to her, and she is more than willing to let him. But just as soon as she thinks they could possibly amount to something her past comes back to haunt her, and puts her and Reece in danger.and destroys her hope of having something normal in her life...
This was my first book by this author, and I have to admit that I thoroughly enjoyed it, so much so, I am planning to revisit this series and get a up close and personal view of the other Wilde men. This story pulled me in almost immediately and had me burning right through the pages, it was so addictive!! If you like steamy romance with a touch of thrilling mystery, this is the perfect read for you!! Definitely one of the best books I have read recently!!

Best book in the series so far! Reece and Shelby could not be more different. He is the straightlaced second oldest Wilde brother and she is the free-spirited wild child, younger sister of Eva Cardoso (Wilde Security #2). Seriously, they are like oil and water. But holy crap, they have chemistry like fireworks! Reece has had a thing for Shelby since he saw her in the coffee shop. He has a dark side that screams for him to dominate her. But when things go too far one night, Reece ends up getting blackmailed over pictures of the two of them. When the blackmailer follows them to Cam and Eva's wedding in Vegas, Shelby recommends that they get married to take the steam out of the blackmail threats. But once they get married, they both have secrets that have to be told. And let me tell you Reece's big secret is a doozy. But Shelby's secret is the one that could ruin what they have together. We learn more about the Wilde brothers and their childhood both before and after their parents' deaths, especially how Reece dealt with being so different from his brothers as a kid. He takes a lot responsibility on his shoulders. Shelby is good for him in that she helps him let go and enjoy things. Shelby gets the raw end of the deal with people, including her sister, because they are always expecting her to screw up. Reece actually believes in her and sticks up for her. In the background of Reece and Shelby's story, Vaughn (Cam's twin) is falling apart and Greer, the oldest Wilde, has disappeared again. We will find out more about Vaughn in the next book, Running Wilde and Greer in Too Wilde to Tame. The series is getting better with every book, but this one is going to be a tough act to follow.
I couldn't stop reading Wilde at Heart so yep, I finished it in five hours, guys. It's that good. The level of cuteness and sexiness involved in this book together is top of the charts. I found myself swooning so many times for Reece??? And who doesn't love fake-marriage trope, I mean *nods head* it's the absolute best. Plus add the trope of little sister of your brother's wife trope. So you have some kind of level of forbidden and fake marriage in this mix. Like please what more can you ask guys. Pick up this book.
Fake marriage trope is one of my favorite, like ever. I adored how Tonya Burrows wrote Reece and Shelby's story. From Las Vegas to the fancy dinners those two attented, I fell in love with the story alongside Reece and Shelby. I fell in love with them as well, watching them bring down their walls little by little. There were so many secrets involved and I just wanted to know what was goign on. Tonya Burrows completely destroyed me at some points and I couldn't help but shed some tears. There's some scenes you just know they're gonna break you. But Tonya managed to put me back together with a perfect ending to Wilde at Heart. This story got to me SO MUCH. I adored it completely.
I love big families in books and how they interact with the main characters! The Wilde brothers are out of this world and *drools* *drools some more* GAH! Definitely you will want to read about them. I like the companionships they form and the way they show love for each other/how they protect their family gets to me so badly! Tonya Burrows did just a fantastic job writing the Wilde family and I absolutely loved it.

This was a real page turner. I was drawn into Reece and Shelby’s story from the first page. Their chemistry was so intense!!!
I love a good pretend romance turned genuine love story. Reece is trying to ignore his attraction to problem child Shelby while dealing with blackmail. Shelby is trying to prove to herself and everyone else that she has outgrown her troubled past while trying to get into Reece’s pant! This made a great recipe for a scorching hot romance.
Reece and Shelby were perfect for one another. They helped in building up confidences and healing past hurts.
Can’t wait to go back and cheek out the first two books in this series so I can read more about the Wilde brothers. I really enjoyed reading about Reece’s brothers and their spouses.
Reece could be a prude, and I thought he was shy, for pete's sake Shelby's already seen the boy naked, "Reece was shirtless and halfway through pulling off the slacks he’d traveled in. “Jesus, Shelby. A little privacy?” Once the beast of Reece is unleashed there's no stopping him, “you are a very bad influence.”He straightened and gave her a** one last smack before withdrawing from her heat and dealing with the condom." I liked this book it was an interesting read sometimes you need someone the complete opposite of you to complete who you are.
If Shelby Bremer had any luck....it would be bad! Except for her infatuation with Reece Wilde, the nerdy computer geek of the Wilde brothers. Blackmail, arson, men with guns and robbery and lies seem to follow them wherever they go. Not to mention a lot of heat between the bad girl and the geek. Full review to follow http://www.tbqsbookpalace.com on Sept. 14th.
3.25 stars The hero kinda had this martyr, oh I have to handle everything complex which did improve a bit at the end. I somehow didn't like his brothers as much in this book, they came across as selfish and self-absorbed and my main issue was the heroine and her secrets. I found her unlikable to be honest. Overall, an okay read. And for those who care the hero is a virgin.
Der Teil gefiel mir bisher am besten. Weil es Spannung gab und Shelby & Reece ein vollkommen gegensätzliches aber schönes Paar waren. Leider ist mir dafür Eva aus Teil 2 nur noch unsympathischer geworden.
Tonya Burrows is one of my ‘go to’ authors when it comes to military/special forces/ suspense contemporary romance. She’s one of the few authors I discovered who always do their research and put out books with both checked facts and incredible romance.
Wilde at Heart is part of her Wilde Security series, a series that focuses on the 5 Wilde brothers and their business, with this book following the uptight Reece and his whirlwind romance with Eva’s sister, Shelby.
After the death of their parents each of the brothers took on a role and Reece’s was to help provide for all his remaining family. After years of doing just that, he got stuck in this position and with financial problems on the horizon he has to do everything in his power to secure a merger deal with an arrogant old school tycoon. This means he has to stay out of any sort of trouble, and his personal life is up for scrutiny. Shelby is exactly that kind of trouble – she’s wild and rash, with a tainted past and some dodgy family members. With his attraction to her growing by the second, them getting caught on camera in some compromising positions and the blackmailing that follows, Reece and Shelby throw caution to the wind and do the one thing that Vegas is famous for – get hitched by an Elvis impersonator. For them this was the only way to get what they both wanted – save his business and solve her own law problems. But there’s more to the story that Shelby wasn’t upfront about and Reece might just be the one to pay the price.
Reece was never on my radar till this book, if I’m honest. But man, did I fall hard for him after this. He’s a geek, plain and simple, a computer genius, who would rather sketch or crush numbers than go out on dates. He’s sweet, charismatic and sexy, yet inexperienced. I loved seeing him chase Shelby with such a passion that it made me feel like he couldn’t breathe without her.
Shelby was the rainbow to Reece’s gray sky. She’s a colorful character, both literally and figuratively. Covered in tattoos and with a different hair color every week she couldn’t have been more different from the uptight Reece, yet they made a perfect pair. I guess it’s true what they say: opposite attract. She brought the fun to this suspenseful story and it didn’t feel forced at all – her nicknames for Reece made me laugh out loud and I only hope to see more of them in the following books. I LOVED seeing Shelby overcome every obstacle life has thrown at her and not let anything or anyone stand in her way – she always wanted to save the ones she cares for, but this time she put herself first, and it showed.
In true Tonya Burrows style, this book had amazing writing, and during those suspense scenes, she made me feel like I was part of the story, just standing there trying to not panic or just full on run away from the bad guys. She is skilled at keeping the suspense alive till the end – never once did I think the ‘bad guy’ was who it turned out to be – kudos to that.
Another thing I adore about her books is the ability to have every brother and their partners appear in each book and even in the little parts that they are present you can still see character development – her heroes and heroines NEVER stop showing a different side to their personality even if their book is done an dusted. In this book, like in all her other ones, the banter between the brothers is priceless, and it only makes me more and more intrigued about the rest of the gang – Vaughn and Greer will get books and I cannot wait for them.
All in all, Wilde at Heart is a top read for 2015, a 5+ star book. It’s a great blend of thrilling mystery and sweet romance, with lots of laughs and cry out loud moments, with both a great hero and heroine, who are not the norm in today’s contemporary romance, but somehow they worked perfectly. Miss Tonya Burrows did it again and all I have to say is ‘I NEED MORE!’
Their parents' death twenty years earlier forced fifteen year old Reece Wilde and his elder brother to step up and take on the task of providing for and raising their younger brothers to avoid them going into foster care. Reece has remained stuck in that role all these years and on the verge of securing a lucrative partnership, he cannot afford even a whiff of scandal. Which is exactly what Shelby Bremer would bring to his life. Shelby is his sister-in-law's younger sister but she's also a trouble magnet with her wild ways and unconventional style and the very opposite of the kind of woman he needs, but Reece can't stay away from her to save his life. When potentially damaging video and pictures of them in compromising positions surface, Reece faces the choice of giving into blackmail or losing everything he's worked for.
Shelby's impulsive nature means that she hasn't always made the best decisions but she's determined to show that she's matured beyond all of that. However, she can't seem to shake off her past and finding herself in a tough spot, she decides a quickie marriage to Reece would be the solution to both their problems. Reece knows that Shelby has a lot of secrets that may be damaging to him, but he can't stop himself from coming to her rescue, even if it means marrying her to keep her safe. The only thing is that their marriage may have created more problems than it solved because trouble seems to be closing in on them from all sides and with so many possible suspects, it's hard to figure out who the bad guys are. Their intense physical attraction to each other as well as Shelby's secrets and the danger they face have them teetering on the edge of disaster.
Reece is exactly what I imagined. The nerd in a family of rambunctious boys, everything he's done has been with the goal of taking care of his family. So much so that he neglected even his personal and social life to focus on that goal. For the first time in his life, he meets a woman who tempts him away from what has driven his all choices but knowing that she's in his life temporarily, can he take that chance?
Shelby's childhood wasn't exactly an ideal one and she made her fair share of mistakes growing up but she turned it all around with hard work and determination. While she and Reece are opposites in every way that counts, they are very perfect for each other. Shelby brings color and lightness into Reece's life and makes him sit up and enjoy it and Reece grounds her, accepts her and her colorful style (although not initially) and encourages her to be herself. They have become my favorite couple in the series so far.
One reason why I love this series is the bond the brothers share and the fact that they are always there for each other when needed, no questions asked.
WILDE AT HEART was worth the wait! Ms. Burrows blends passion, intrigue, danger and suspense into a fast paced, thrilling and absolutely enjoyable read. I had so much fun reading this. Reece and Shelby made me laugh and cringe at their funny and embarrassing moments and I am looking forward to the rest of the series, just please don't take so long to get the next book out!

I was so happy to receive an early copy of this book, ’cause since the day I finished Wilde for Her, I was looking forward to Reece and Shelby’s story. And Tonya Burrows didn’t disappoint. Wilde at Heart was so far my favorite book in the series.
Though Cam and Jude were the most fun Wilde brothers and they are except Reece is better. He is adorable, sweet and sexy as hell. Reece and Shelby together were amazing together. Tonya Burrows had me laughing from the very first page. And considering that the heroine was Shelby, this book was guaranteed fun.
Shelby as usual spoke her mind and was fun as always. She is an independent young woman who knew her strengths and weakness. People never gave her a chance to be anything other than the flighty, reckless girl that she was. She tried so hard to be the responsible adult, but people’s views including that of her sister Eva and the Wilde brothers, including to some extent Reece, never changed.
While I loved Eva for the kick-ass woman that she was in Wilde For Her, I strongly disliked her in this book. She never really understood Shelby and she didn’t try to. She was always the first one to point out Shelby’s shortcomings and reprimand her. She was also the very last person to believe Shelby could make a sane, responsible decision. True Shelby was impulsive, but even behind her impulse she had good reason.
While I loved Reece for the kind-hearted, geeky nerd that he was, I was sometimes disappointed with him for his behavior with Shelby. He too never saw behind the mask of Shelby’s impulsiveness. He tried to change her from what she is to what he thinks she should be. But on the other hand he also didn’t want Shelby to change. His complexity and duality made for an intriguing read.
This book was suspenseful, fun and mostly unpredictable. There were two tracks working parallel in the story- one was Reece’s blackmail and the other was Shelby’s. While it was easy enough to guess who had a bone to grind with Reece, I honestly couldn’t predict who the villain in Shelby’s life was till the end. The sex as usual in Tonya Burrows style was hot has hell. Burrows has made sure to pave a footpath for both Vaughn and Greer Wilde. Tonya Burrows made sure to throw us crumbs about the upcoming books. I can already feel the fun and intensity in Lark and Vaughn’s book.
The surprise element in this book for me was Reece. In the previous books he came across as uptight and snobbish. But in this book Reece truly shined. He was just a lot more shy and reserved than his brothers. Trying to shoulder the weight of his brothers took a toll on him. Shelby was the perfect woman for him. She brought out the fun, geeky, artistic guy that he was. But what really threw me was the fact that Reece was a virgin!! I NEVER and I mean NEVER expected that. Thank you Ms. Burrows for surprising me!
Wilde at Heart truly encompassed what both Reece and Shelby were, and they were incredibly wild. This book is undoubtedly my favorite book in the series. Can’t wait for Vaughn and Greer’s story to come out.
I totally love this series and what is there not to love!!!
This is the third installment in the Wild Security series by Tonya Burrows. This book is filled with some hunk of men and love seeing some of them with the woman they love. Now it’s time for Reese to find the person to complete him but they are going to go through some rough patches and at the end of the road if they love each other enough they could really live happily ever after.
We have Reese Wilde a man that has a dark side that I really want to explore. I wanted to know more about him from the minute that he made an appearance and now that I read his story I want more of him. He is a nerd that loves computers but his business might be crumbling and Wilde Securities is operating in the red. He needs this business opportunity to go through in order for him and his brothers to keep living. Reese holds the wait of his family and he will do anything for them and he is a big workaholic. He has never been in a relationship and couldn’t believe he had not been with a woman but when he saw his brother’s fiancée’s sister he knew he was in trouble.
Shelby Bremer is a woman that is known as trouble but she is trying to change her life. No one knows that she is an owner of the coffee shop that ended up burning down. Nobody knows what she has gone through and what she has to do. When someone ends up approaching her she knows that she is in trouble and she doesn’t want to hurt Reese. She ends up going in Las Vegas she never thought in her wildest dreams that she would end up getting married with Reese. Only that someone was blackmailing him and maybe it would be better for them to get married then if those pictures or that video came out it wouldn’t hurt him as bad since they were husband and wife.
Secrets end up coming out and this secrets are going to hurt when they come out but Shelby and Reese will need to be strong and stay together. Reese will end up blowing up and say things that he will regret but Shelby’s actions will also hurt not only her husband but also her sister.
Wilde at Heart was an excellent read that once I started I couldn’t stop. I enjoyed watching Reese and Shelby’s relationship develop and the chemistry between them was flaming HOT. These two sizzled when they were finally together and Shelby was able to handle Reese’s dark side but Shelby wasn’t that far behind. Ms. Burrows did an amazing job in bringing these characters in life.
I can’t wait for Vaughn’s story next but the one I really can’t wait to read is Greer.

-- MY THOUGHTS > Judging a Book by it's Cover: A well-dressed man, looking as though the weight of the world rests on his shoulders. Stormy and turbulent background could be an indicator to the mood of the overall setting. Looking Deeper: Third-person POV. Although this is the third Wilde book in the series, it can be read on it's own. However, it is my opinion that WILDE AT HEART would be more rewarding to read if read in order - since the characters are so tightly connected. Reece: Second oldest Wilde brother. Computer Geek, non-athletic. Odd-man out, even in his own family. Disciplined, controlled, focused. Determined to do what it takes to make sure he and his brothers never have to struggle again. Shelby: Labeled a trouble-maker, a jinx, irresponsible, a wild child. No one knows the dark secrets she hides. Even when she means well, things tend to run amok. She's sacrificed more than anyone knows and she hides her soul-shattering heartache behind her aloof and colorful persona. Each have past demons, but when the past threatens their future, wedding bells present the perfect solution. Sort of. Both leads are perfectly flawed individuals that make an entertaining couple. The secondary characters mostly consisted of the brothers and past characters, and some minor cross-over with HORNET. The dialogue is fresh, fun, smart, sassy and believable. The plot is well-layered and dynamic, with an even and smooth blend of suspense and romance. There are a few conflicts that are met in an efficient manner, but more often than not, their ways of dealing with conflicts were less than ideal. Predictability was moderate. I pegged her bad guy early on, but a secondary bad guy facing Reece was not foreseen. The conclusion of this story is solid, but leaves plenty of openings for Vaughn and Greer to begin their books. Overall, I was pleased with the book and thought it made a great addition to the Wilde brothers' books. I look forward to learning what's happening with Greer and discovering what'll happen when Vaughn finds Lark, which we all know will be inevitable.
** Side note: I love Poe and really wish he had the chance to shine more. This was truly his opportunity to prove himself to be something amazing, especially with how smart the breed is.
Reece Wilde is one sexy nerd. Worried over the state of Wilde Security, Reece decides to pursue the backing of a conservative man whose pleasure stems from watching men squirm to get at his money. So being caught in a compromising position with wild child Shelby Bremer is not in his or the company's best interest.
Shelby hasn't had much luck in life, but she has recently made some strides in getting her life back on track. But when her past comes back to wanting her to tie loose ends, she finds herself in a difficult situation. Thinking they could help each other, Reece and Shelby decide to get 'married', neither one anticipating how hard they were going to fall for each other the more time they spent together.
What initially drew me to this was the opposites attract concept. I admit it loved getting to know Reece and Shelby. I enjoyed watching how their differences clashed and complemented each other as the story progressed. And I guess that it's why I found it disappointed that their 'romance' took a back seat to everything else that was happening in the story.
That's not to say that the other elements brought to the story were't interesting or intriguing in their own right, I just think that it took away from what could have been a great romance. Thankfully, Tonya Burrows managed to bring Reece and Shelby's connection to the page. Maybe it wasn't developed up to my standards, but it was there nonetheless. I enjoyed their flirty banter, their bickering and those intimate honest moments when they finally let the other in. Both Reece and Shelby were hardened by their past so watching them losing some of their walls was a treat for me to read.
As with other books in the series, we get to spend some time with the Wilde brothers and the women they love. In this installment we get to see a bit more of Vaughn and a lot less of Greer. Yep, curioser and curioser!
Keep in mind that although this is the third book in the Wilde Security series, it can be read as a stand alone. Although, in my opinion, reading book two would provide greater insight into Shelby, it's not a necessity since the author does a great job of giving laying out her story.
All in all, a fun and sexy opposite attract story. Loved the characters and liked the story, but for me the romance fell away somewhere between all the happenings in the story.
*I received a copy of this title in exchange of my honest opinion.
I loved the fast pace of Wilde at Heart, the unexpected pieces of the plot, the forbidden romance, and the great mix of characters.
Shelby is a heroine who is definitely not given enough credit in her life. She's insecure but hides it very well behind a veil of sassiness. Shelby has not had an easy time in life, but she perseveres and does her best to move forward from a past filled with more secrets than she is willing to share. She's impulsive and she is hopeful, but my heart goes out to that hidden side of her that feels like no one can love her.
Reece is the responsible, put everyone else first Wilde brother. Looking out for his brother's soon to be sister in law Shelby soon turns into a lot more than he anticipated. From the chemistry between them to the danger they find themselves in, soon Reese and Shelby are connected in many ways. They tell each other it's only temporary, but even as danger lurks closer and secrets stay safe, they each find themselves feeling way more than they expected to. Trying to stay safe and finding out who is responsible for the threats and danger stalking them is one thing, but keeping their hearts safe is another thing. Can they do it? And if they can will Shelby's secrets be the undoing of what's only just begun?
I liked both of these main characters. I liked how they felt together and how they boosted each other up without even trying to. I really felt hopeful for them, but at the same time I was nervous about the secrets Shelby was keeping. Tonya reveals just enough at just the right times, and the suspense, mystery and romance are a great mix in Wilde at Heart. I was intrigued and couldn't wait to find everything out, and find out what would happen. I liked how Tonya worked the plot, how the characters had to work for what they really wanted, and how Shelby and Reese unwittingly helped each other do this.
I saw a lot of growth in these two characters through Wilde at Heart, it was really sweet to see.
I didn't really care for Shelby's sister Eva who is a significant secondary characters, but this only added more realism to the feelings that Tonya manages to evoke in Wilde at Heart. I liked the Wilde brothers, their interactions, and the background that brought them to where they are today and where they are headed.
Full of surprises, intrigue, heat, and suspense, I'd recommend Wilde at Heart to any romantic suspense reader.
Giving this such a low rating pains me; I have loved this series to date and was so looking forward to reading Wilde at Heart. But unfortunately there were too many elements that didn't work for me.
"...you, mister, have no idea what you've gotten yourself into."
The alarm bells had started ringing by 25%; Reece had annoyed the hell out of me, Shelby was expected to change the look the defines her, their chemistry was tenuous (granted it did improve) and her sister had me wanting to grab her by the throat. I have a sister and if she treated me that way, well let's say she would be in pain from my fist. Characters I had loved in the previous books became judgemental and unlikeable and that bothered me.
"It wasn't fair to ask her to change herself."
Tonya Burrows has a gift of introducing multiple characters and plot twists and making it work; I have highlighted this in numerous reviews for both her series. And whilst I loved the slight overlap with her Hornet series, on the whole it just didn't click. It was too busy and I sat their wondering if parts were actually relevant which was a real shame. Here's hoping this is a minor bump in the road, because I've loved these brothers and am hoping Tonya can re-inject the magic into Greer and Vaughn's stories.

There are a lot of things good about Wilde at Heart. The strong family unit the Wilde's formed after the death of their parents, the way that Reece refused to judge Shelby before he had all the facts and the blazing hot sex that just ignited between Reece and Shelby. The plot had some strange twists and turns that kept you guessing who and why.
Reece is the nerd, genius, workaholic, multimillionaire Wilde brother. He has pushed himself to succeed while sacrificing a personal life in order to assure security for his brothers. He presents as straight laced and buttoned down and up. Shelby is a wild child with a lot of mistakes and mystery in her past. She had multicolor hair, tattoos and piercings. She is also Eva's little sister. All excellent reasons why these two are oil and water. Except....
Shelby's coffee house is fire bombed just after she and Reese have their first intimate encounter. Reece later receives a blackmail video of the encounter. A prospective business partner would take a very dim view of that. Things escalate at Eva and Cam's wedding in Las Vegas and Shelby and Reece end up married after another demand from the blackmailer. Someone from Shelby's past has returned to leverage her cooperation and it could mean big trouble for Reece. Shelby has a lot of secrets and Reece has enemies too.
I'm going to start by saying that this cover is hot. I loved it, and it was what initially drew made to this book, well that and the fact that I have great luck with this publisher in finding really good reads. This book is the third in a series of which I have read none of the others. I had no problem keeping up though. I did go back and add the first two books to my Amazon wish list.
Reece and Shelby have known each other for a while, long enough for Reece to know that Shelby is trouble. Unfortunately for him, he wants her anyway. Shelby is attracted to Reece, but she knows she has some dangerous secrets that could maybe even be deadly. When a chance but steamy encounter between the two of them leads to a devious blackmail scheme, Reece and Shelby make a spur of the moment decision which sets their families in an uproar and has lasting consequences. Instead of keeping danger at bay, it seems to only draw it closer.
Throughout the book, my heart hurt for Shelby. It seemed like everyone who ought to love her constantly put her down and made her feel worthless. Everyone wanted her to change. I thought she was such a great character, and the ending of the story couldn't have been better for her. I loved the story.

I read Wilde Nights In Paradise, so I have a bit of a background with the Wilde Brothers as well as their business, Wilde Security. I know that a lot of readers have been anticipating Reece's book and have been waiting patiently for it. Personally, I think it was worth the wait. Reece was a good character and the Wilde men are always fun to read.
What I didn't like about this book was that there seems to be a lot going on. I'd understand subplots if it's a first book in a series because that's when we get bombarded with characters who will have their own books in the future. But for a third book, it kind of gets in the way of the story. And I wanted the love story between the good guy and the wild child.
Also, I haven't read the second book, but seeing how that book's heroine was in this book, it kind of puts me off reading Eva and Cam's book. I mean, some families may be that way, but there is a time and place for all of that and there is a right way to talk, regardless of your intent and reason. Overall, I still enjoyed this book even if there is a thing or two that didn't sit well with me.
Reese Wilde wanted his sister-in-law's sister, Shelby Bremer. They are complete opposites in every way but there's just something about her. She's a trouble magnet. Wherever Shelby is, trouble is sure to find her. And sure enough, when she starts to fool round with Reese Wilde, things start happening. First it was the blackmail. They thought marriage would be the best way to thwart the blackmail but you know what they say about good intentions and that was just the beginning.
Reese is the nerdy reclusive one of the Wilde brothers. He's no slouch in the looks and body department but he's always been more interested in making sure his brothers are financially stable. Shelby is trouble with the T! I really feel sorry for her because everyone paints her as a huge screwup that nobody wants to be around. She does have reasons for most the stuff she does even though she can't tell anyone. I can't wait to read more of the series.
