I was given the opportunity to read The Amazing Adventures of Ellie the Elephant - Ellie Camps Under the Stars. This is my honest opinion of the book.

In this final book in the Ellie the Elephant series, Ellie and her best friend Pudgy the Penguin decide to go on a camping trip. As they eat, sleep, and hike, Ellie and Pudgy explore the beauty of the great outdoors.

What child has not dreamt of their stuffed animals living their own adventures? Ellie Camps Under the Stars, as well as the other books in the series, allow children to see firsthand what their animals might do on their many trips. This book has a new addition of text boxes with questions posed directly to young readers, giving the book a more interactive feel. Touching upon many aspects of going outdoors for a camping trip, like hiking, cooking on a campfire, and looking at the stars, Ellie Camps Under the Stars is a great way for parents to introduce the idea of camping to first timers or to reminisce about past trips. I heartily recommend this book, as young readers will enjoy both the story and the journey.

This book appeals to the child’s love of stuffed animals and adventure. The main characters are Ellie the Elephant and Pudgy the Penguin, stuffed animals with a desire for exploration. In this book they are camping out under the stars and then going on nature hikes where they experience much of what nature has to offer.
At night they view the stars and then they go on constructed trails to waterfalls and scenic overlooks. There is a chart of a few constellations at the end, adding to the educational value. One obvious improvement to the book would have been an explicit mention of where the two adventurers were hiking. It appears to be a park of some kind and it would be nice to know which one.
The level of the text is that of the first or second grade student and there are many images, making it a good book to be read to young children. It will stimulate their imaginations for adventures that their animals can go on. If it would have been available when my daughter was young, I would have read it to her.

Another great read about a couple of cute stuffed toys. Ellie and Pudgy are camping out in the great outdoors and enjoying every minute of it. It made me think of the times I camped out under the stars. The story is so imaginative and life like, and a good teaching lesson to kids of what to expect of the outdoors. I love how the pictures correspond to the story and each thing the toys do is simply enjoyable. I'd recommend this series to kids and parents alike. (The only thing--Orion is not a summer time constellation, it comes in the winter time).

I got this book from the authors in exchange for my honest review.

This book is sheer delight of both your eyes and mind. Marci and Ellie are a mother/daughter duo that have created some really fun adventures with Ellie's beloved stuffed animals, Ellie the Elephant and Pudgy the Penguin. This time they head out on a camping adventure...doing all the fun things that campers do. It was such a great story about heading out, trying new things and always being very mindful of your surroundings. The mix between the real life photos and illustrations makes for a fabulous reading experience, The story is also a delight and creates a desire for children to take your stuffed friends on adventures with them. 5 stars

The snow is melting and spring in in the air! The kids are excited for camping season and are counting down the days until we head out to the campground. Until that happens, we’ll be planning our summer vacation and all the adventures we take! Maybe we’ll find some inspiration from Ellie and her friend Pudgy as we read “Ellie Camps under the Stars”.

“Ellie Camps under the Stars” by Marci and Elle Fair is the 6th installment in “The Amazing Adventures of Ellie the Elephant” . Ellie the Elephant and her best friend Pudgy the Penguin go on a camping adventure and explore the world around them. They set up a tent, go hiking, play games, make s’mores and go star gazing. What do Ellie and Pudgy discover in the world around and about themselves?

“Ellie Camps under the Stars” takes your child on a camping adventure, from hiking through the mountains, setting up a tent to making s’mores. Your child will discover all the fun things they can do while camping.

The illustrations are simply adorable, done in a scrapbook style, using a combination of “real-life” photos and scrapbook elements to create amazing imagery that any child will love.

“Ellie Camps under the Stars” has many lessons to teach us. As Ellie and Pudgy set up their tent we learn about teamwork and perseverance. This is a great time to talk to your kids about how they can work through difficult situations. Do you get angry and quit or do you take a moment to laugh and enjoy the moment for what it is?

We also learn about caring for the environment. After Ellie and Pudgy have their meal they are careful to pick up all their mess. Take a moment to talk about why it’s important to clean up after yourself especially when you are exploring the world around you.

One of my favourite thing about Ellie and Pudgy is that they can have amazing adventures without the use of technology. They spend the day and evening together without using a tablet, cell phone or a computer. Instead they enjoyed the world around them and spent the evening making s’more and gazing at the stars. I love how the author’s take the time to show us both the Orion and the Big Dipper. My son can not wait for the first clear night so that I can show him the constellations in the sky.

“Ellie Camps under the Stars” is a fun story about two best friends who have the most amazing adventures together.

We received this book to give an honest review.

A has really enjoyed reading this amazing series with Ellie the Elephant and her friend Pudgy the penguin.
In this adventure they are going to go camping outside and my children are slowly starting to enjoy outdoor camping. With Ellie and Pudgy they play games, cook smores, hike and read. All the fun things you would do on a camping trip. There are no scary monster here so that is always a plus. The pictures are wonderful and if you haven't started this series to see all the places and adventures these two have gone, you must start reading. It is always fun to try something adventurist and new, Ellie and Pudgy show us that in every book.

Ellie Camps Under the Stars is another fun-filled adventure in The Amazing Adventures of Ellie the Elephant series.

This time readers join Ellie and Pudgy as they explore the great outdoors and sleep under a brilliant night sky full of stars. The duo go hiking, play games, and make s'mores, but best of all they make memories that will last a lifetime.

I have followed Ellie and Pudgy on all of their excursions and have to say this one is my favorite. As an avid hiker and waterfall seeker, I was anxious when Ellie and Pudgy heard the roaring of water, knowing what beautiful site awaited them down the trail. I loved the photo of the pair behind the waterfall as they felt the mist on their faces.

Ellie Camps Under the Stars is well written and beautifully illustrated, using actual photos which visually enhance the story and give young readers a glimpse of what they too can discover while on their own camping expedition.

Kudos to the authors for another wonderful edition in The Amazing Adventures of Ellie the Elephant series.

My Review:

My son's are about to embark on their latest camping trip and this book seem to fit the bill so I was really excited when I got the chance to review it. This story is the sweetest and it is the perfect book to read to your child at bedtime or on your very own camp out.

As Ellie and Pudgy set out on their adventure, they soon realize how much work goes into a trip such as this. They even mention my favorite treat of all time--s'mores. Ellie and Pudgy are two stuffed animals that go along on many new adventures and they share those with their readers.

In their latest, Ellie Camps Under the Stars they get a chance to camp out and see what nature has to offer them. Which turns out to be a lot. There are so many things to explore out there in the big world and these two friends intend on doing just that.

My favorite thing about the book is the "I Spy" part of each picture. Before turning the page you are asked to find an object in the picture. My son loved reading this book. Great color photographs, as well!

Marci Fair and her now thirteen-year-old daughter Elle have coauthored their sixth book in the series featuring Elle's two favorite stuffed animals, Ellie the Elephant and Pudgy the Penguin. I've read and reviewed several other books in this series and thought they were such great books for kids. This time, Ellie and Pudgy explore the great outdoors through a camping trip together. Through hiking, building a campfire, and experiencing the beauty of nature Ellie and Pudgy teach kids the importance of appreciating their environment.

Like the other books in the series, real photographs show Ellie and Pudgy visiting various locations and taking part in activities while being silly and showing kids that it can be fun to explore along with being safe. The pages don't just share the story but ask for interaction from the kids such as looking for the butterfly that paid Ellie and Pudgy a visit or finding the constellations in the sky. There are puzzles at the end of the book and a parent guide for talking about the importance of taking care of our planet and what we can do to make a difference.

I have read this series of books to kids and they love that stuffed animals are telling the story and have mentioned that they want to take their stuffed animals on adventures like this. These stories are a great way to encourage imagination while teaching a particular lesson. Plus, I love that a child is involved in the creation of these stories for children. Elle Fair has a bright future!

I received this book from the author for the purpose of this review. All comments and opinions are entirely my own.

The Amazing Adventures of Ellie the Elephant is a creative series following the adventurous lives of Pudgy the stuffed Penguin and Ellie the stuffed Elephant, of whom are both real stuffed animals being featured in this series!

Ellie Camps Under the Stars is much more interactive with the readers than the previous books in the series, but the story is just as good. Ellie and Pudgy share the information they learn while on their expeditions, which include some information on consolations in this book. The back of the book has some short activities to keep the kids engaged in the story and there is also some “with a parent” activities to do once the book has ended.

Overall, I’ve really enjoyed this series and this book is another great addition! I recommend all of the books to both boys and girls, as they will make excellent story time (group setting or one-on-one) books. I give it 5 out of 5 stars.

Youngsters who enjoy making up stories with their own stuffed animals will feel right at home reading about Ellie and Pudgy. The two plush friends have starred in several previous books, and now they are having a camping adventure. Readers will laugh at the issues the pair have getting their tent set up, and then feel a little jealous of how cozy it looks. Different aspects of a camping experience including cooking out, looking at the stars, hiking, and seeing wildlife are included. Through it all the two friends try new things, starting off with a short hike and then taking a much longer one the next day where they even explore behind a waterfall.

The scenes have plenty of details to look for and talk about with small children who have not had the chance to go camping yet, or who would like to reminisce over a trip they have taken. There are also questions on some of the pages to encourage discussion and get readers to pay careful attention. At the end of the story there are games to play and a list of suggestions for ways to respect nature.

This would make a good book to take along on a family camping or hiking trip. It might also inspire some of those who have been making up adventures for their own stuffed animals to begin staging some of the scenes and taking photos. They could make their own books, or perhaps share a photo on Ellie and Pudgy's Facebook page (Facebook.com/ellieandpudgy). Recommended for preK - 1st grade.

I received a copy of the book for review purposes.

MY THOUGHTS
All of the Ellie books are on the Amazon Best Sellers lists. Check them out! All very good children's books and adults will enjoy also. Haven't you ever looked up at the stars and wondered? Here we are give two animal characters, Ellie the Elephant and Pudgy the Penguin who both love the outdoors. They love nature and everything about it. So they decide to learn more and went on a camping trip. Did you ever camp out under the stars? Undescribable! Off they went to find their camping site where they could see nature at its best. They had quite an adventure from putting up the tent, which was quite an adventure in itself, to hiking the woods. They learned it took patience and an amount of work and willingness to go camping. But after the tent was up, they climbed in and everything seemed wonderful. When they went hiking they decided maybe they should wait until the next day for taking a long hike, they were rather tired from setting up camp. When the next day came, they saw so many creatures and scenery that they loved. Nature was beautiful. They learned that it wasn't all just looking at nature. It was taking care of nature. Ellie and Pudgy learned so much on their camping trip. The authors have a place in the book where you can send photos and names of your favorite animals. There is also a section for leaders, parents and teachers on children and nature. Some suggestions. What a wonderful children's book and adults will enjoy too. Get a copy and read with your children or grand children on loving and respecting the wonders of nature. Join Pudgy and Ellie!

I received a copy of this book from the authors and voluntarily decided to review it.

Ellie, the elephant, and Pudgy, the penguin, love spending time together in nature. So they plan a camping trip under the stars. It took some effort, but they planned a great camping trip. Once on the trip they learned about stars, nature, and friendships.

My daughter loved this book. We enjoy camping as a family so this was a great book to read before one of our trips that she could relate to. The pictures are adorable and help tell the story of the two little animals. The little questions throughout the story engage the young reader as well as the additional activities at the back of the book. This book is all about learning and adventure. Your young adventurer will love the entertaining story, but will also enjoy the way the book brings camping and nature alive in a fun and informative way.

I received a copy of this book. All thoughts expressed are my own.
