illustrations are reminiscent of Eric Carle (it's the collage of painted paper I think), the river belongs to an assortment of life, from water beetles to children.

A very good story showing the different creatures that live in the river. The pictures are colorful and simple perfect for a young preschool audience. The children enjoyed this particular book as an oversized book during preschool storytime. The illustrated glossary located at the end of the book was very helpful.
