Racing Christmas

Rate this book
There are only two things Vincent Henderson loves.

Racing and family.

Speeding around on the track has always fueled his insatiable adrenaline appetite. A devastating loss has left Vincent without the Christmas spirit. Now his focus has been turned to fixing his father’s old race car, getting back on the race track, and following in his father’s footsteps where he belongs.

That is, until Maybelle Tomlinson comes racing into his life, stopping him in his tracks.

Maybelle grew up as the typical sweet southern belle, so nobody ever expected her to have an intense love for racing. With Christmas right around the corner, Maybelle is the epitome of what Christmas is all about. From the tree, to the lights, and everything in between. This special time of year is always spent in a place she absolutely loves, her family’s bakery, with her mother’s signature creations.

When an impromptu holiday vacation throws Maybelle directly into the path of Vincent, she finds out he isn't as amazing as she once thought. He’s rude, arrogant, and downright insensitive, but makes Maybelle’s heart race faster than any car would. Digging deeper to find the man she once imagined is not going to be easy, but it’s a challenge Maybelle is up for.

It’s the adrenaline rush of a lifetime, but crossing the finish line isn’t always going to result in a happy ending.

Racing Christmas by JL Baldwin is a racing Christmas story that will warm your heart and heat you up with the romance. This is my first book by this author and I really enjoyed it. Some parts of the book got a little slow for me but for the most part this story is a fast, easy flowing story. I enjoyed this author's attention to details. I felt as if I was right there with the characters and found myself holding my breath a couple of times. The characters are both lovable and connectable, they will keep you engaged until the end. They will pull you in from the first word and they took me on an emotional roller coaster ride of various emotions. There are a few twists in this story that I did not see coming but kept me reading page after page. This story is about Vincent who is a racer but also has gotten himself in trouble with street racing. He lost his father a few years ago and he was left to run the racing business. He is focused on fixing his father's race car and not much else. Because of tragedies in his life he doesn't like Christmas until he meets Maybelle. Maybelle has been working in her parents bakery and looking at going to college. Her birthday is coming up so he parents decide to take a vacation to Florida. She has always loved racing and it just so happens that on Christmas Eve the Dayton 500 is on that day. Not only that she finds out the hottest driver, Vincent, is going to be there. Then the first night that Maybelle is in Florida her and her friend sneak out to a bar. They find themselves in some trouble that Vincent helps them with. This is the start of their relationship. Her parents are totally against this racing thing but will they change their minds? Will they realize that their daughter knows what she wants? I loved both of these characters. I think that Vincent is a little rude and arrogant at first but his heart is in the right place. He is a little rough around the edges but we get to see a different side of him when he is with Maybelle. Maybelle has been protected all her life and she just wants to live now. She doesn't seem to care about limits and isn't afraid to push them. She is determined and knows what she wants. Together these two are just chemistry and attraction. I think they belong together but you will have to read this book to find out. The secondary characters are just as great for the most part. They help make this story into what it is and I wouldn't change them even if I disagree with them. I highly recommend this book as I know you will want to see if there is a happy Christmas and a happy ever after in this story.

Omg what can I say! This was the best darn story I have ever read! It gets your blood pumping, your motor racing and you can't help but to cheer Vincent and Maybelle on to reach the finish line! Their love is one to be envious of! You can't help but feel it! Its raw, sweet and intense! The way they are capable of saving each other is amazing! Christmas really does bring on miracles! It will make her laugh, cry and everything in between!

I can't wait to read more from the wonderful J.L. Baldwin! Because her stories definitely gives you all the feels! Fantastic job!

I voluntarily agreed to read this book and this is my honest review!

Racing Christmas by J.L. Baldwin

4 Stars

This is my first book by this author and I will be looking at what else she has available. This will probably be my last Christmas book for this season and it was nice to hold on to it for a bit longer this year.

I've been a racing fan since I was young and enjoyed this story. Vincent and Maybelle were great characters, the only problem I had through most of the book was that I had to keep reminding myself how old they were. A Lot of their personalities had them younger than what they actually were, and this kind of threw the story off for me a bit. But I enjoyed this storyline and it was fun to read. It had a smooth flow and the next thing I knew I was done.

Vincent has racing in his blood and loved everything and anything to do with racing. After losing his father so close to Christmas he lacked the spirit of the season and threw himself in to fixing up his dad's old race car, and also preparing for a big race in Florida that he was invited to participate in. Now so close to Christmas another devastating accident occurs just strengthening his not wanting anything to do with Christmas.

Maybelle has a close family and was brought up by two parents that had the kind of love you find in romance novels, her dream is to have this kind of love someday, as well as her dream of taking over her Mom's bakery someday and adding her own touch to the business. She also has a hidden love of racing and can always be found watching her heroes on Sunday mornings, much to her parents dismay. They forbid her from having anything to do with the sport or the life that comes with it.

Maybelles parents surprise her with a family trip to spend Christmas in Florida and she convinces her best friend Ariel to join them, and has secretly bought tickets to the Daytona 500 and will have to find a way to sneak around her parents to attend everything she can involving this race. She has always had a secret crush on Vincent and she has her sights set on finally meeting him. Will she get to meet her secret crush? Will he be everything she ever dreamed he would be? Is there any way for Vincent to allow the spirit of Christmas to bring him joy instead of sadness?

I can't wait to find out if there will be another part to this story, I was left wondering about another set of characters in this book, will they get a chance at happiness? I hope so because it feels like there's another story there for them.

If you are a scrooge around Christmas time like I tend to be, then this is just the story for you, like it was for me, or if you love Christmas, then this is the story for you! I'm a dark & twisty person, and Racing Christmas gave even me, the warm and fuzzies in my deep down gooey places. I will be keeping it to read again when the scrooge hits me again next year. See, Vincent Henderson loves two things, racing and his family. However, a huge loss has left him without the Christmas spirit, which has turned his focus into fixing up his father's old racing car, and getting onto the racetrack, in order to follow in his father's footsteps. That is until Maybelle Tomlinson crosses his path. She's the ultimate good girl, who loves Christmas. Maybelle's family usually stays home for Christmas, but when they go on a surprise vacation, it throws Maybelle into Vincent's path, where she finds out that maybe he isn't as great as she had herself believing. However, when she finds out what has him so angry at her favorite time of the year, can she help him find joy in Christmas again? This is the first book that I've read by the talented J.L. Baldwin, and it won't be my last. Because as you see from what I said above, it takes a special talent to give me the warm & fuzzies, and she did just that. Not to mention, I was immediately transported into the world of racing, and devoured the story in one sitting. I loved both Vincent and Maybelle, not to mention the cast of secondaries. And while the story probably came off like a Hallmark movie, it would be one that I would watch, which is saying a lot coming from my jaded self. Now there is some questions left when it comes to Maybelle's bestie, and I'm hoping there might be a book to come about her story, and with that being said, I'll just end with HIGHLY RECOMMENDING Racing Christmas to ALL!

This one is tough for me to read and stay focused. This book did not keep my interest. It is very very slow. I was unable to connect with the characters and it was very dry reading. There is a lot of thinking in their heads and not a lot of interaction between characters. I am about half of the way through and the main characters have not even met yet. I’m sure it’s because the author is busy building a backstory for each character. The second half has a lot more activity and the story picks up. The prologue just didn’t work for me either. I usually like a kind of “will they or won’t they” story and the prologue just seemed to take any surprise out of the book.

On the other hand it is a nice wholesome Christmas love story. Once they do meet there is some fireworks and problems. The secondary characters did spark my interest! I wondered what Rig’s issue about dating Maybelles friend was about other than what he stated. The main characters both seem to have nice families and friends....other than that crazy Lorenzo guy.

I feel this book was an “ok” read. Others might love it but I just can’t get to that point. All the characters seemed put together and the storyline was something I was interested in reading more about. Car Racing! The author seemed to put a lot of work into the story. I’m not sure why it didn't work for me.

Racing Christmas by J.L. Baldwin. This a new new to me author. I fell in love with this book from the very first page.
Vincent Henderson has racing in his blood. He has never backed down from a challenge. With Christmas coming up, he has no desire to celebrate the season since he experienced a devastating loss years previous. All he wants to focus on is racing and winning. That is until he sees the most gorgeous girl he has ever set his eyes upon. Maybelle Tomlinson is your typical southern girl. Sweet and sassy all riled up into one package. She has always wanted to see a race up close and personal. What better time than while on vacation with her best friend and her parents. The only small problem is that her parents absolutely forbid her to go anywhere near a track or racers. When she sees and meets Vincent, whom she has had a major crush on for the longest time, she will do whatever it takes to see and spend time with him. Will following her heart and disobeying her parents lead to love on the track or heartbreak.

I am looking forward to reading much more. I am hoping to see what happens with Ariel and Rig….

Sadly, this was a struggle for me to get through, and to be honest I skimmed the last 50% or so. The blurb had my hopes up for an exciting read, unfortunately the book itself didn't live up to expectations. There was definite potential but the execution just didn't work for me.

I didn't engage with the characters and was never really pulled into the story. Throughout the book I had to remind myself what time period it was taking place in- it was supposed to be modern day, but the way the characters acted and even spoke made it seem like they were living in the 40s or 50s. I think the book actually would have worked out better if it had taken place in that time period. Take out a few mentions of cell phones and maybe a couple other minor things and this certainly could have been what I think of as "contemporary historical".

There wasn't a lot of conflict, and what there was of it was easily resolved. I think that was part of my problem- everything was just too easy...nothing to get my heart racing or really capture my interest. As it is, this one just didn't work for me.

5 stars!

A book that has finally combined two of my favourite things!! Motor Racing and Christmas!! This was the perfect book for me and I absolutely loved it!! I so wanted to be in this story! I think the author did an amazing job with the descriptive writing! It was like reading a Christmas movie!!
I loved that we got POV chapters from both Vincent and Maybelle. I loved them both! The love between them was just so amazing! It was love in its purest and rawest sense. I could feel every emotion between them and I was rooting for them the whole way through!
This story is just so beautifully written that I never wanted it to end. I was drawn into it from the very beginning. There were also some really good twists in the story too.
I have never read anything by this author before but I know that I definitely will be in the future.
A fantastic 5 star story which I highly recommend!

“This is my drug, and I am an addict. As long as I have a breath in me, racing will always be my solitude.”

I believe this is my first read by J.L. Baldwin. This story covered many areas you experience throughout different relationships with friends, families, crushes and love. There are a lot of growing pains and self discovery.

“If you have family in this world, then you have everything you will ever need.”

What do you do when your family has one dream for you and your heart is elsewhere? Do you miss out on your own dream and live a life that isn’t yours or do you buck the system and hope they eventually get on board and support you? Either way someone will be hurt, but at the end will you still have peace, love and trust with the people who mean most in your life.

“...sick and tired of being the good-girl. I want adventure and excitement.”

Racing Christmas written by JL Baldwin is a nice holiday romance. This is the story of southern belle Maybelle and her secret love of all things racing, including a secret crush on. Local racer Vincent Henderson. The story alternates between Vincent and Maybelles point of view so you see what’s going on in both of their lives past and current to get them to the point where they meet. This was a nice slow read to me it was kinda hard for me to get into right away with all the back story but it helps you understand what happened to make each character behave the way they do.
Vincent hates Christmas and Maybelle makes it her mission to get him to like it again. But can see succeed or will he end up loosing everything because he can’t focus on the most important race of his career.

So sweet it almost hurts, this is a Christmas romance you’ll read again and again. Cute is definitely the word I’ll probably repeatedly be using in this review because it perfectly describes Vincent and Maybelle’s story. From the very start to the very end these two have the most adorably sweet romance filled with the warm fuzzies. You won’t be able to stop yourself from falling in love with them!

Reading this was like living out all my hallmark Christmas movie dreams. THIS is the book you snuggle up with by your tree while drinking hot cocoa. I loved how cute these two were together. One of the sweetest couples I’ve ever read, their love Just filled me with happiness.

This is the first time I have read any of this authors’ work, and my goodness, it will not be the last! Vincent loves his family and racing, and is presently not feeling the Christmas spirit. Maybelle is the typical good girl, who loves Christmas, and a surprise get away puts her in Vincent’s path, and when she finds out what has him so angry, she is determined to bring him into the spirit of things. This is a well written and heart-warming story, which certainly had me in the holiday spirit. There is drama, suspense, revenge, and most of all love. I look forward to reading more of this authors’ work and I recommend her word for all romance readers.

this is a story of a couple who came to be. Vince has racing in the blood, and he wants to live up to his legacy. Then you have met maybelle who wants to see and live life and has a chance to get to see her Crush on the track. This is a very sweet story which has your bad guy, twists, pain and love. There were a couple spots where I wish the character didn't roll over so easy on what was happening to them, had a bit more backbone. But other than that it was a very lovable and engaging story. This is my honest review for a book I volunteered to read

This book will hit you in the feels. There is love, heartbreak, danger and miracles. What else could you want in a book? Vincent has racing in his blood as well as winning. But he has lost that Christmas spirit. Maybelle wants to restore the Christmas spirit in the one man she loves. Through it all a old rival tries to derail all the progress they ha e made together. Do not miss what happens.

This is a feel good book. Even with the street racing and bar trouble this book is too sweet. This author created an easy flowing story with great attention to detail. The family relationships were heartfelt and totally believable. Who doesn't want to work in their parents bakery? Or drive their dad's pride and joy? I liked how the story started 25 years into the future and showed Vincent's love for Christmas because we all know it wasn't always there. This was such a feel good book.

I loved this book. It was kinda different from the other books I’ve read of J.L.’s. It’s a cute love story. How love can last through time, trials and good times. My favorite character has to be Vincent. He’s so sweet even when he’s being stupid.

This was my first read by J.L. Baldwin, so I went in blind with no pre-conceptions. Racing Christmas focussed on two MCs and alternated between each of their points of view throughout the story, which is my favourite way to read, as you can usually really get in each characters head and understand their motivations. Vincent is a racing driver, quite a hero in his small home town, but he dreams of making it big on the racing scene, of following in his late father’s footsteps, and fulfilling those ambitions he’d had for himself, and his son. Maybelle is the sweet goodie two shoes girl who aspires to take over her mum’s bakery one day, but itches to have a few years out first to spread her wings and experience life at college, along with boys. When her family book a vacation in Daytona Florida for Christmas, it coincides with the huge Daytona racing event, which Vincent is taking part in - and he just happens to be Maybelle’s long term crush. On the whole I enjoyed this story - There was some angst, betrayal, and really wonderful strong connections between family and friends that warmed the heart. Throughout though the dialogue felt a little clunky, not very natural, and there wasn’t enough of it for me to keep the pace of the whole storyline up, so at times it dragged a little. Nor was there enough romance for my personal preference, the MCs relationship seemed to be built on mutual instant attraction alone. For me to really feel a relationship, I need to see it develop over time, and be based on something deeper. It was full of the Christmas spirit though, which was really nice as a few festive reads I’ve tried recently fell short in that area. All in all an enoyable read, but without the emotional pull to make me really love it. 3.5 stars.

Racing Christmas  by JL Baldwin

Racing Christmas by J Baldwin is an  amazing story that I had a hard time putting down once I started reading This is my first book by this author and I can honestly say it won't be my last. Get ready for a roller-coaster ride of emotions with this wonderful story with a few twists that had me on the edge of my seat trying to figure out what was going to happen next. This story is about Vincent and Maybelle. Vincent is a racer who lost his father a few years ago and Vincent also was into street racing but got into some trouble. After he lost his father he took over the racing business .He's been very focused lately in fixing his father's race car and not much of anything else. He's not a big fan of Christmas  due to the tragedies he's had in his life..This all changes when he meets Maybelle. Maybelle works at her parents bakery while looking at going to college. Since her birthday is coming up her parents decide to take her to Florida for a vacation. Maybelle  loves racing and is excited to find out that the Daytona 500 is on Christmas Eve.She also finds out that Vincent the hottest racer ever will also be there.Maybelle and her friend finds themselves at a bar and getting into some trouble in which Vincent helps them out .This is definitely the beginning of a relationship .Maybelle parents are not racing fans Infact they are totally against it. .Can Maybelle change their minds about racing? Can these two have a future together?  I loved this book and think it's a definite read.i highly recommend it especially if you are dying to see how it ends. I look forward to reading more from this author.

Racing Christmas is a holiday romance by J.L Baldwin. Even though this story is a Christmas romance, it could be enjoyed at any time of the year.
Vincent has lost his Christmas spirit. He’s made a few mistakes in his life that have got him into trouble. He’s also still coming to terms with the loss of his father, and has channeled his grief into restoring his father’s old race car. He isn’t interested in anything else, and has lost his zest for life.
Maybelle is a little ray of sunshine, who is working in her parent’s bakery. She absolutely adores car racing, with a passion. Her parents surprise her with a trip to Florida to see the Daytona 500- which is scheduled to happen on Christmas Eve. This romance really starts when Vincent comes to her rescue on a night out with her friend. Will their mutual love of cars and racing bring these two together, or will there be too many obstacles in their way? Can Maybelle bring a little light back into Vincent’s life?
The story is told from an alternating point of view, Vincent and Maybelle’s. It’s also told from flashbacks, as well as in the present day. The author handled the transitions well, and there was no confusion jumping from one to the other.
In the end, everything was tied up in a nice, neat, sweet little bow. The only thing that I found to be a minor issue was that I thought the story was more suited to being a short story/novella- or have added more drama to ‘pad’ out this full-length novel. But over all, it was a good story.

Thank you, Ms. Baldwin!

Racing Christmas

This is a first time read for me by this author. I truly enjoyed the story and getting to know the characters. Although the book starts off slow and takes a bit to build the back story, it does end up delivering a well written upbeat story. J.L. Baldwin takes the time and effort to help you understand the storyline and why things are happening the way they are in the book.

We are introduced to Vincent Henderson at the beginning of the book. He is trying to fix up his dad’s old race car to keep his memory alive. Losing his father a few years before Vincent is the one who is chosen to keep his family’s racing business running. He is solely focused and doesn’t have time for things like Christmas. Maybelle Tomlinson loves Christmas. It is her favorite holiday and she loves working in her family’s bakery. This Christmas though while on holiday with her family she meets Vincent. He’s not the nicest of guys but Maybelle feels drawn to him. When they are together Vincent is a different person and we can see that he can be sweet and tender. Against her family’s objections, Vincent and Maybelle explore their budding relationship. It’s not without some bumps in the road but whoever said love was easy?

JL Baldwin delivers a feel-good book with these characters and it will be fun to see if the story continues on with some of her secondary characters. All in all, a good fast read. Well worth the time to dive in and race to the finish with these great people.

A great wholesome Christmas story. Due to tragedies in his life happening at Christmas time, Vincent Henderson just hates Christmas time as it’s full of sad memories for him.
Along comes Maybelle Tomlinson into his life, a girl who LOVES Christmas and she is determined to change Vincent’s view of Christmas. Will Maybelle be able to convince Vincent that Christmas is an amazing time of year where miracles do happen?
The author put a great deal into the back story of the two main characters, however, I did find it strange that they didn’t meet until halfway through the book. Although it must be said that when they do finally meet sparks fly. Maybelle has always had a thing for Vincent and when Vincent first sees her there is an instant pull of attraction (or lust!)
This book is centred around the motor racing scene, where Vincent is taking part in the Daytona 500. This is a scene I love reading about. Many of my favourite books take place in the motor racing world. Maybelle’s parents are strongly opposed to her being involved in this scene so much of the story is centred around how they meet in secret. Although Maybelle turns 21 during the story I felt that her parents treated her as if she was much younger.
I really like that this story is told from dual point of view. I enjoy being able to get into the head of both characters and see what they really think about each other rather than only getting one side of the story.

Racing Christmas by J.L Baldwin is a great story which is full of passion and chemistry with every turn of the page. This is the first book by this author and was surprised at the great writing and the layers to each of the characters.

Vincent has also enjoyed racing its in his blood, but when his father died near Christmas, he has lost his Christmas spirit. To feel closer to his father he is now repairing his father's old racing car in hope of racing it in the future.

Maybelle's from a normally loving family, she aspires that her relationship will be just like her parents, but is this a fairy-tale. Her parents decide to surprise the family with a trip to Florida but Maybelle with her best friend Ariel decide to visit Daytona 500 to see if she can meet her dream man Vincent.

As the story continues you get to see the raw tragedy which has dogged Vincent for so long and the complex layers which he is trying to overcome. Will he see the light and enjoy the season or will his downs in life ruin him forever.

I enjoyed the fast past of the book, although at times the main characters did annoy me with there immature attitudes something. Although this was a personal feeling the story stilled followed and I would love to read more from this author in the future.

Racing Christmas by J.L. Baldwin is a story that will warm your heart and steam over your reader with the perfect mix of sweet heat romance. Racing Christmas follows the story of Vincent and Maybelle, the accidental meeting that started a great love affair. Vincent is the bad boy racer who needs to clean up his image for the good of the company, and Maybelle is looking to cut loose a little while on a family vacation in Florida. When these two meet in a bar, the sparks ignite and Vincent is willing to go the extra mile to get the sweet wholesome Maybelle, but will her parents agree? Will the distance between them keep them apart or will the chance meeting be the beginning to a happily ever after? This book kept me on the edge of my seat, while making the storyline easy to fall into and the characters were so well written that I felt like I was in the story for most of it. Baldwin is a new to me author, but she won't be anymore. This book had everything that I look for in a good weekend read for some romance. I hope that this becomes a series because I would love to see where Baldwin takes these characters down the road.

Racing Christmas
By JL Baldwin

Having never read anything by this author I wondered how much I would like the story. While I found this story to be a tad slow in some places, but I am sure others will have different ideas and that’s all good. Personally, I would like to have seen more character growth with the two main characters, would also liked to have them meet sooner than they did. The book is written well but I must say that I am not a great fan of flash back writing, but for this book it seemed to work. Basically, Vincent has lost his Christmas spirit, is grieving over the loss of his dad and during this time Vincent restores his dads racing car. Maybelle is a happy and caring young lady and works in the bakery that her parents own. Maybelle and Vincent meet after a rescue when she and her friends are out one night. Both have a love of racing cars, so will this be the mutual like that will bring them together? The question is, is Vincent ready to let someone into his life. I am pretty sure some will enjoy the story of Maybelle and Vincent.

Vincent and Maybelle are the perfect combination of bad boy meets good girl in the heart throb book, Racing Christmas by J. L. Baldwin. I love the perspective this story is told from. It is very unique. The idea of telling a Christmas story of love is fun in and of itself, but, J. L. Baldwin has taken this a step further. It adds a whole new and different layer to an already fun book.

Racing Christmas is a feel good story. The characters are really charismatic. They fit together well.. I really enjoyed their interaction. the friendships are marvelous. Maybelle and Ariel, Vincent and Rig, they we witten very well as best friends. There is a lot going on in this book, but the most important thing is the closeness of their friendship. I loved the way the family and friendship ties are written. Ms. Baldwin has done a really great job of depiction how important family and friends can be.

This is a great book about the truth behind winning, that the real winners have the love and support of their families, blood or not.

A great four star read. Thank you Ms. Baldwin!

Racing Christmas By J. L. Baldwin is a great story about following dreams and finding love along the way. Vincent has always known he'd follow in his dads footsteps and be a racer. After a bad breakup he doesn't need anything or anyone but his family and racing, that's what he thinks until he meets Maybelle. Maybelle loves racing even if her parents are against it, she knows what she wants in life but she's got some growing up to do, when she comes face to face with Vincent both their lives are changed.
This story is told in both main characters points of view which I'm a big fan of because I feel you get a more full picture of the story. Maybelle and Vincent have something strong from the start and you can feel that in the authors words. While I had a bit of trouble sinking right into the story once I did I was hooked. This is my first book by this author but it definitely won't be my last. I'm giving this book a four star review and recommend it to anyone looking for a romance book.

Racing Christmas by J.L.Baldwin is an easy story to sink into and is a heartwarming story all round.

Vincent is all about racing. But when his situation forces him to stop. He turns his focus entirely on to fixing his dad’s old race car, determined to get it back up and running and in racing condition.
And then he meets Maybelle. The quiet, unassuming woman who knows more about racing that he would have thought possible. She starts to break through his walls and turn his life upside down.
When Maybelle is given the opportunity to meet the racer of her dreams she never expected him to be so rough around the edges. Rude and arrogant he is not quite what she had in mind. And yet she still finds herself drawn to him.

This is the first book I have read by this author and I found it very enjoyable. Easy to get into with interesting characters I found myself wanting to know more about them. The writing style helped to carry the book along and keep you, as the reader, engaged. A good introduction to a new author.

Racing Christmas by J.L. Baldwin is the first book I have read by this author and will not be my last. Racing Christmas will have your blood pumping and your heart racing. This book has it all from romance to the twists and turns, leaving you wanting more. This is the story of Vincent Henderson and Maybelle Tomlinson. Vincent has two things in his life that are most important racing and his family. Maybelle is definitely a Southern Belle who loves racing and everything Christmas. She is surprised with a trip to Florida for the Daytona 500 and very excited to see her favorite racer Vincent Henderson. Maybelle and Vincent meet and have an instant connection, but will it last.

J.L. Baldwin's Racing Christmas flowed and was easy to read. The characters were well developed and easy to relate and to and understand their thinking. I enjoyed that the story was told from the POV of both characters, it was nice to see what each were thinking. Definitely looking forward to reading more from J.L. Baldwin.

Racing Christmas by J. L. Baldwin is a sweet Christmas story that you will find easy to read. It will warm your heart and gives you couple of hours of escape. It was the first book I have read by this writer and though it was not the best writing I have ever read, it was still very engaging so I will be looking forward to reading more.
Racing Christmas is the story of how Vincent Henderson met his destiny Maybelle Tomlison. Sometimes you really need to travel far to meet someone who actually is very close. You could not have picked two that were more opposite than Vincent and Maybelle. Vincent is a race car driver and runs his family’s race track whereas Maybelle is a gun shooting southern belle who works at her family’s bakery … I am sure you can imagine what fireworks will go off when those two meet down in Florida at Daytona 500!
The story is not very long and at times I felt a bit rushed though at times I felt it was taking way too long … in the end, it was a sweet Christmas story that leaves you feeling good!
