I was asked to read Angels Song, I got it off Kindle Unlimited

Angels Song, is really a sweet story of a boy in and girl. Meeting, coming together and on the forefront is trust. It’s a huge thing for the characters. That they trust each other.

I did feel that Jim and Lisa really did have a connection with each other. But I didn’t have a connection with them. For me as a reviewer, I love to connect with the characters. Really feel what their feeling. Unfortunately, I didn’t get that with these two.

Don’t take this as I thought this wasn’t good. Because it was and highly enjoyed being able to get a glimpse in their lives. There is a surprise twist at the end of the story, that I really didn’t see coming.

Overall, it’s a 3.5 (4) Boundless Stars from me....Lissa

The Playlist Anthology by Chip Davis, Kindra Sowder, Aimee Shaye, Barbara Lieberman, Ellie Lieberman, Ben Lieberman, Alyse Taggart, and Toni Kerr is simply magical. The best part of this anthology it has given me new authors to read. I love discovering new to me authors.

Angel’s Song by Chip Davis will make you homesick for a simpler time. This is a love story that will make you smile, laugh, and cry. Chip Davis has really outdone himself on this story.

Sparrow by Kinda Sowder. Words cannot describe how much I enjoyed this too short story. I hope that the author expands it into a full-length story. I’m that greedy reader who always wants more of a story. The story was that good.

Lachrymose by Aimee Shaye, is simply beautiful. It’s definitely a story that no one should skip over. I love the author’s writing style. Her style is jarringly real. I look forward to reading more of her works in the future.

Coming Home by Barbara Lieberman was amazing. My only complaint with that story is that is too short. I am looking forward to reading Annie's story

Be by Ellie Lieberman is full of action and drama. The takeaway from the story is that you do what you must do to protect your loved ones.

Shadowman’s Smile by Ben Lieberman is hauntingly beautiful. Long after I finished it, the pain and the anger the character feels could be my own. It really resonated with me. It just makes me want to evaluate friendships, relationships, and even myself. Thank you, Mr. Lieberman for writing this story.

Strawberry Avalanche by Alyse Taggart is simply magical. I could definitely relate to Maggie. Sometimes we are not aware that we need to make changes in our life until something jars us.

Courage: Never Look Back by Toni Kerr is the story that hurt to read. Tristan’s story seriously hurt. I have never wanted to hug a character so badly in my entire life.

I know I couldn’t do the stories justice with this review but I hope the glowing recommendation helps. These stories are fantastical. They make you think and more importantly there are life lessons in each story. I will recommend this story to others. I strongly give it 5/5 Platypires.

I enjoyed the stories much like I enjoyed listening to music

This review is for Chip's Angel's Song

I originally wanted to write a review for each of the story in this book but I don't have much time to write a long one ( but I'll try in the future). The rating was for the book as a whole though...

Now that I got the disclaimer out of the way.... Here I go...

In all honesty, I did not expect to like this story. I don't like Lisa. Her character was what I hoped to be at all. But I guess that was also why the story grew on me along the way. I liked that the characters didn't really act the way I hoped the! to. To say it simply, they have gained my respect and I ended up liking them. Same thing goes with the story.

Also don't know the songs used in here but I did try searching Willie Nelson on Spotify and was quite surprise to know he have a lot of songs and albums. I listened to Angel Flying Too Close to the Ground and though it's not the type of song I usually listen to (I'm more R&B and Pop type) I really feel the song fit for the story.

The other short stories were quite good too although there's a couple that was a little off for me. All in all, this compilation of short stories was a great read.

**** 3 Cranky Stars ****

I was originally intrigued by the concept of this book. Granted most of the songs I've never heard of but I knew the singers.

It started rocky. It was hard to follow the stories and some read like a weird acid trip.

I did enjoy some of the stories and they made me smile.

I believe this would have been a good idea if they would have put a little more time into it. I really love anthologies. Little story nuggets.

I hope to maybe see more from these authors in the future with some modern songs.

A multi-story book that starts with a sweet love story.. and takes you on an emotional roller coaster as you embark on different adventures based on all genres of music. You do not need to be familiar with the songs listed, but the authors do list them if you wish to look them up.

Some stories were better than others in both writing style and content. Some were quite emotional. Some you don't want to end. Some you were questioning what in the world was going on.

I, personally, am not the biggest fan of books like this and would rather there have been a more cohesive point, rather than the blanket of "music", to connect these stories but there were a couple that really hit me right in the feels! Each story has its pros and cons, so curl up with it, and with youtube if you need it, and enjoy. 4 stars.

Independent Reviewer for Archaeolibrarian - I Dig Good Books!

As a whole, I enjoyed this anthology very much. It was packed full of shorter stories that revolve in some way around music. In some, the characters are involved in music, and others, a particular song has been the inspiration for the story. Prior to reading this, I assumed each story revolved around the characters and music. I was slightly surprised, not disappointed though.

A few of my favorite stories were Angel’s Song, Lachrymose, and Going Home. I think if I did have to chose one story out of all, Angel’s Song would win hands down. They were great for different reasons and each seemed to provide its own little life lesson. Some were darker than others, some were more inspirational. You had a good little mix in this anthology.

If you’re looking for an anthology revolved around music in general, this is the one for you. It’s a nice little read and provides you with several different types of stories to keep you interested!

* A copy of this book was provided to me with no requirements for a review. I voluntarily read this book, and my comments here are my honest opinion. *

WOW....Where to start.....Each of these stories were unique in there own special ways. I have read a couple of these author's works before, but the rest are new to me and I absolutely LOVE diving into new to me author's works. I was extremely excited to read this story and here is why....I will break it down to you.

Angel’s Song by Chip Davis. This story is a simple, down to Earth story that I really connected with. I laughed and cried in this story and I must admit, for an Author who writes about squirrels with killer personalities, he did a fantastic job writing this story. It is actually my favorite one of the bunch. A really enjoyable and unforgettable story. Phenomenal.

Sparrow by Kinda Sowder. I really enjoyed this short story, though I am hoping that the author gives us some more of this character, because she left me craving to know more about this character. Mysterious.

Lachrymose by Aimee Shaye. This story really pulled at my heartstrings. It was a feels real type of story of loss and it made me really sad for this character. There was so much pain in this story, but it was still a fantastic story and one you wouldn't wanna pass up. Fantastic.

Coming Home by Barbara Lieberman. I really loved this story too, but I am curious about reading more of Annie's story. I believe this one was cut a bit short. This story was another one that pulled at my heartstrings though too. Awesome.

Be by Ellie Lieberman. A lot of action and drama in this story. It did keep me entertained. This story was uniquely well written with a moral to the story. Incredible.

Shadowman’s Smile by Ben Lieberman. This story is uniquely and hauntingly beautiful at the same time. This story captured a bit of my soul with it. I could feel how the character felt with all the pain and anger that radiated off the pages of this story. This story actually got me thinking and wanting to evaluate some of the friendships and relationships in my life. I loved how this story made me actually stop and think after I finished reading it. Remarkable.

Strawberry Avalanche by Alyse Taggart. Simply magical. This story took me on a great adventure that I really enjoyed reading. I absolutely loved this world that was created by the mind of the character. Genius.

Courage: Never Look Back by Toni Kerr. This story really made me hurt. I just wished I could have been able to reach into the pages of this story and just hug this character. It's a grab you by the heart and stomp on it kind of story, but worth the time to read it. Amazing.

My final thoughts on this Anthology is that it was a remarkable way to bring forth the use of music into each story and I loved how the story wrapped around the songs. This is a really great group of stories put together to make a really memorable read and I highly recommend it to all to read.

Pipe & Thimble Publishing provided me with a digital copy of the book for review purposes only. No remuneration was exchanged.
