The peaceful world of Cenceti faced destruction by an unknown force. Out of options, the simian-like humanoids abandon their home-world.
With the energy storm growing closer, Cenceti scientists and engineers turn to the task of evacuation. They build massive transports and small spider shaped craft. They also create a master computer program to pilot the massive fleet. The program is simple - Aid and Protect the Cenceti.
With the fleet now in space, the search for a new home begins. Many new planets are discovered, but none are suitable for the Cenceti, until they discover "Sanctuary." The Cenceti make preparations to abandon the fleet, but the computer, now sentient, knows that if the Cenceti leave it will not be able to aid and protect them. In its emotional infancy and instability, the computer destroys the Cenceti in the course of protecting them.
Left with nothing but its programming, the computerized fleet roams the universe seeking a new civilization to aid and protect. The IMA discovers many worlds, destroying several species of "primitives." Picking up distant signals, the IMA sets a course for Earth.
In 2015, World War III has ended. The devastated human race is ill prepared when the IMA arrives in orbit and promises Utopia. Humans divide into distinct groups: survivalists, religious zealots, and the alien movement. When the humans refuse, the IMA destroys over half the population in a show of force.
The humans fight back, led by Major Alexander Hobbes and LtCDR Jacqueline Petrovsky. With the assistance of local militia leaders, and an unexpected ally, the humans launch a counter-attack on land, in the air, and in space.
When all seems lost, the humans initiate a last daring plan. Can this daring plan save the human race...or will the alien computer dominate the remnants of humanity?
"You'll never make money being a writer." Those words were told to me in middle school. "Pick another career."
Not knowing any better, I did. I chose a major in computer science with a minor in math. After graduation, I went on to start my own computer company.
In 2011, I turned to my wife and told her, "I've done the computer thing and have been writing all these years. I could not stop. I am ready to be published."
I was about to go the self-publishing method when I was invited to a pitch the publisher event in Indiana. The publishers attending not only liked the books I presented, but they picked them up. I have been writing and publishing books ever since.
Some of the stories you will see were written years ago. A great story stands the test of time. Others have been freshly minted from my own mind.
So what was the book which first caught that middle school student's attention? 'The Red Planet' by Robert A. Heinlein. From that point on, I could not get enough. As the ideas filled my head, I had to find a way to let them out.
Whether it is Science Fiction, Fantasy, Mystery, or Poetry, you'll see all kinds from me.
Wow!!!!! For the author's first novel, it was a great read!!!! It reminded me of Alien Nation, V, Star Trek, and Independence Day all rolled into one!!!! I really liked the Cenceti population!!! I could see this novel made into a movie for either Chiller TV or Sci-Fi!!!! Once again the creation by a humaniod being (although advanced) causes the potential destruction of humankind!!! Utopias are once again proven to be a falsehood. Overall, it appears that humankind or a kindred being will be the potential downfall of the species. It begs the question of once again, without freedom of will, is there truly a perfect society?
Great debut! Only two complaints that bumped it down from 5 stars. First, the editing for the book was below subpar. Many, many words and sentences were jarbled. (I bought my version at Megacon, Orlando, 2021) Second, the battle on Earth was a solid third of the book. This in itself could've been fine, but I was disappointed that the Cenceti had no more leading role to play after their appearance.
