This is the last book in the series, all of which I enjoyed. The heroine is a lawyer who fights for the underdog, and the hero when we meet him is really one. He is beat up, doesn't know who he is and hears voices. Gradually, we find out that he isn't homeless just a man caught up in grief over the death of his son. This book tackles the issues of how religious cults ensnare people, all the while stealing, killing people and destroying families. The hero and his wife were separated and he suspected his wife had a mental illness but he got caught up in his business and couldn't stop his wife from taking his son to a cult that led to their murder. The book depicts how the heroine takes them down, while also featuring their romance. Not too bad.

Really good book. Unfortunately cults are still a thing that still happen. More people need to write about it.

So this was an interesting read for me. The book was well written and even though the story was a bit outlandish at times it was creative and not formulaic and predictable. And Shannon is such a great character!! She’s spunky and smart and strong and I love her. But then there’s Mitch. I just didn’t like him and wasn’t overly thrilled with their relationship.
