While this may not be a 5 star book. My sister and I would read this book to each other over the summer when we were kids. The memories alone make this a five star read.

Sentimental favorite of my youth! Still have the tattered and torn paperback that I've read a million times. I reread it recently and couldn't help smiling when they told each other, "I love you." That's such a teenager thing to do! I remember being 15 and on my first date with my boyfriend of about 1.5 weeks. On skates at the local ice rink, he told me he loved me and I said it back. Before life happens and heartbreak makes us jaded and cynical, there is a magical time when this kind of love is all there is in the world. This book makes this cynical, jaded 45-year-old remember that.
