While trying to capture a wildlife photo with Rapella's new motion-sensor game camera, in hopes of winning a local photography contest, they capture an image of something much more sinister. Jeanne Glidewell, a 2006 pancreas and kidney transplant recipient, and her husband, Bob, reside in the quaint little coastal town of Rockport, Texas. They previously owned a large RV Park in Cheyenne, Wyoming for 12 years, which gave Jeanne the idea for the Ripple Effect series. Her main characters, Rip and Rapella Ripple, are full-time RVers, with Rapella solving murder mysteries along the way in their travels. Her other (and first) cozy mystery series, the Lexie Starr mysteries, involves a 50-year old library assistant who meets and marries an east coast jeweler named Stone Van Patten. Together they renovate a historic Victorian mansion and turn it into the Alexandria Inn in the fictional town of Rockdale, Missouri. Lexie can’t help getting involved in murder cases taking place in and around the B&B.

All of Jeanne's novels - a romance suspense novel titled Soul Survivor; 7 books and 1 holiday novella in her Lexie Starr series; and 7 books in her Ripple Effect series - are available at nearly every eRetailer site in both eBook and paperback formats. "The Spirit of the Season" is a holiday novella (short novel) she wrote to benefit her local chapter of the Toys for Tots program, with all her proceeds going to help children in her (Leavenworth) county have a merrier Christmas. Jeanne appreciates your support in this endeavor.
Jeanne’s next release, book 8 in the Ripple Effect series, titled The Grim Ripper, is expected to hit bookstores in May 2023.

I received a copy of this book from ebook discovery in exchange for an honest review.
If, like me, you have entered Rip and Rapella Ripple's world of RV retirement living before you will not be disappointed. If not, the story is pretty much stand alone but I do suggest reading the others just to enjoy Rapella and her innocence of modern day terms, plus Rips consistent mishearing of things as he still refuses to wear his hearing aid most of the time.
Soon after pulling into the Rest 'n Peace RV park one of the owners is found dead in the surrounding forest. As the local law agents seem to be looking at it as a random animal attack and shutting down Rip's suggestion that this might not be the case, Rapella starts her own investigation during which her horizons are yet again broadened.

Bears and battle axes

A great mystery that was hard to put down. The other how nature and
some humans dont mix well. When Rapella gos head to head with the
Campsite nasty owner, who shot a harmless mother bear out of pure
Mean mess. Then winds up dead, apparently killed by a bear. But Rapella and
RIP dont buy into it, or the arrogant sherriff attitude either. A great romp through the woods with ranger Rick to solve the murder and poaching going
On. But can they do it and win the photo contest too. Find out in Ripped to Shreeds. Lots of action, one where I dont know who was meaner the bears or
the town's people.

I received a review copy from eBookDiscovery and this is my honest opinion. This was another quaint read in the Rip/Rapella series. I particularly enjoyed the description of the scenery in this book. Once again Rapella has difficulty thinking before she speaks and not paying proper attention to what is going on around her results in an attention-getting hairstyle for her. This book is a good way to spend a cold, winter afternoon.

While camping a woman is thought to be killed by a bear. The meanest person
alive, no one liked her. The Ripples don't believe it was a bear, and set out to
prove it. Tracking down tips. Rumors, and clues to prove it was murder. Can
they do it In time or will the killer get away with murder. Another good read.

Fantastic

Another great read by one of my favorite authors. It is so refreshing to read about characters that can make you laugh out loud and it feels like you are right there with them! I'm looking forward to reading the next adventure.

I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. I would have given this book 5 stars except for one thing: the author kept harping on how dangerous it was to go hiking when camping next to a National Forest. Really? As a former RVer, I loved going camping in the National Parks and Forests. The chance of meeting up with a wild animal is part of the lure. If your main character is so afraid to going into the woods without some weapon because she thinks she's going to be eaten then my advice would be to go back home and lock the doors! In fact, if the author had looked at the stats she would have discovered that mosquitoes killed more humans per year, followed by humans. Even the dog made the top 10 list. The wolf? Average 10 per year - way down the list. And bear? Never made it onto the list. Please keep our wildlife safe!
The story is about an elderly couple who are full-time RVers. They are camped next to a National Forest while visiting their niece and great-grand nephew. One of the RV owners is discovered dead out on one of the hiking trails, supposedly killed by a bear. But Rapella has her doubts and decides to investigate much to Rip's dismay. And there are plenty of suspects and the author did a good job of keeping me guessing as to who the guilty one was to the very end. There were several times that I laughed out loud at Rapella's antics. Either it was something she's thinking or saying or it was the situation that she got herself into. I also believe that Rip has selective hearing, but at times, his lack of hearing at what is being said was hilarious. Rapella's the perfect nosy, busy-body! I'm surprised she waited this long before getting involved in mystery solving! I'm waiting for her to hang out her shingle on the RV! I recommend this book to anyone who loves reading a cozy mystery, likes humor or loves camping!

Rip and Rapella Ripple are at it again!

Author Jeanne Glidewell's Ripped To Shreds (A Ripple Effect Cozy Mystery Book 3) features the return of married senior sleuths Rip and Rapella Ripple.

Retired law enforcement officer, Rip, and his wife Rapella are a joy to be around - even if just on paper! Glidewell gets top marks for her dynamic duo in my book.

What I like best about Glidewell's Ripple Effect series is her use of the type of comedic bantering one would expect to occur between Rip and Rapella. They keep you laughing from page 1 to the back cover! As with Glidewell's first installment of the series I was sad to close the book for the last time as I miss the lively and humorous dialogue!

Another strong point of the author's writing is her ability to keep the reader guessing the outcome of the mystery. Her mysteries aren't as predictable as some of the other cozy mysteries I have read. Glidewell keeps the reader engaged and guessing from one page to the next. Also, no rushed endings! Everything is resolved befor you close the book.

I would definitely recommend Ripped To Shreds to readers who are in their late teens and older as there is a character in the book that runs an adult "toy" shop. There are a couple of references to the items sold in the store expressed in "innuendo" - nothing sexual explicit. Still some may find it inappropriate for a young teen so I felt I should make mention of the content on a few pages.

While visiting relatives, seniors Rip and Rapella Ripple set up camp in a RV park alongside a national forest in Wyoming. When the park owner’s wife turns up missing, and later found dead from a possible bear attack, tensions rise. Campground rumors bring a number of the younger woman’s enemies to the surface, and Rapella isn’t so sure the victim didn’t meet with foul play before being mauled by wild animals. With her propensity for snooping, Rapella investigates, much to the dismay of her husband. Her second-hand game camera, set up in the woods to snap a prize winning photo for a wildlife contest, captures more than they bargained for.

This is the third book in the series and my favorite so far. The plot was interesting with several suspects to choose from. Rip and Rapella never fail to amuse me. They are senior citizens with a homespun charm that is endearing. They’re always looking for a way to save a buck, their arsenal of cliché’s will keep you smiling, and their antics will have you laughing out loud.

I wasn't expecting much when I was offered this book but I was pleasantly surprised. I thought it would be just like any other cozy mystery but was delighted it wasn't and was a little bit different then some I have read and not all about food. The main character Rapella and her husband Rip are a hoot! They are seniors who were staying in a RV park. They get involved in the disappearance/murder of one of the owners of the park. Rapella is sarcastic and at the same time has a good heart. The only criticism I do have which had been mentioned in another review was that if your going camping in a National Park you have to realize the dangers of animals in the wild. I think some of this was a little exaggerated as to wolves etc as far as I know wouldn't be a main threat. Having said that I found this a very delightful book and would recommend it if you like this genre. I will definitely be checking out Rip and Rapellas other adventures!

This was a wonderful cozy mystery. It had suspense, a great mystery that needed to be solved, and interesting, engaging characters. I felt like I was part of the story and didn't want to put this down until I got to the end. I plan to read more from the author and recommend you do to.

I loved RIPPED TO SHREADS as well as the other ones in the series. Since I am Rapella's age, I related to so many of the comments about older people. Not often do I break out laughing out loud when reading a book. However, reading this book was so much fun trying to figure out what would happen next. I can't wait to read the next one.
