Judy Baer was born and grew up on a farm on the prairies of North Dakota, USA. An only child, she spent most of her days with imaginary people-either those she read about or those she made up in her head. Her most ambitious conjuring did not succeed, however. She kept a clean stall with hay and oats for the horse she imagined would come but unfortunately, it never did. As an adult, however, she managed to make that dream come true and raised foundation quarter horses and buffalo for some years. A voracious reader, Judy learned to read with comic books, anything from Little Lulu and Superman to the Rawhide Kid. She sold her first story for $10.00 to a farm magazine. She still has the $10.00.
She graduated from Concordia College, Moorhead, Minnesota with a major in English and education and a minor in religion. At the time, she was simply studying what interested her, but now realizes that she was educating herself for her future career as an inspirational christian romance writer.
Judy wanted to write for Harlequin even in high school but it wasn't until her youngest child learned to say "No" that she realized that she'd better consider a second career to fall back on when mothering was done. Her first book was written with her little girl on her lap. Judy would type a few words, say "Now, Jennifer," at which time her daughter would hit the space bar before Judy continued typing. It wasn't the fastest way to work, but it offered a lot of mother-daughter time together. An over-achiever, she's written 71 books for various publishers. The mother of two and step-mother of three, she now has lots of family to enjoy.
In 2001, she went back to school and became a certified professional life coach. Currently she is working on her Master's in Human Development in the areas of writing, coaching and spirituality and writing inspirational Chick Lit which, she says, is the most fun she's ever had writing.

Judy Baer knows how to write a story without one false step and Sleeping Beauty is no exception. Her characters are lively and real. Suze Charles is very believable as a professional woman who has been a somnabulist from childhood. And then in Chicago for an interview for a better position at her company, she OF COURSE sleepwalks at the hotel right into sleep specialist David Grant. If I were (still) prone to sleepwalking, I'd definitely choose to walk right into David's arms. But the course of true love never went smooth, right? And throw in a lovable pair of twin Peck's bad boys and you will smile all the way through this charming romance.

I enjoyed this, more so in the beginning than towrds the end. Seems like things wrapped up too quickly.

I don't expect literary masterpieces from these kind of books, just nice fluff, but I felt like this book was inconsistent in some characterization, and other characters had traits so exaggerated they were just too one dimensional or just obnoxious.
What really got me was the way they "solve" the sleepwalking issue. I felt it was invalidating to people with medical disorders. Everybody knows better than her about how to treat her medical issue and how she should feel about it.

I really enjoyed this light hearted, quick read. I especially liked the quirkiness of the characters in Suze's life and the perspective of her own unusual struggle.

Although I would normally have given it 4 stars since it was truly a much better version of a Love Inspired book I had to take away from it since it truly didn't hold to the ideal. Although the Love Inspired series is made to be Christian romance books there wasn't truly much Christian ideals included in the beginning part of the book n0r in the first two-thirds of it but only towards the actual end.
What made this book stand out for me is that unlike most of the other Love Inspired books the narrator stood out as the main protagonist so you weren't just on the sidelines. And as a result of the story being told by her the other characters and herself as well as the background were made a lot more realistic.
There was also quite a bit of humor that made the reading enjoyable but like many other in the same genre it did ramble a bit in repetitiveness and so with the lack of Christian standards it did lose a quarter of a star. For those who enjoy the genre and need a bit of a refresher this may be the one you are looking for.

oh, this book was hilarious!!! as serious as the situation was in the story at times, the main character could laugh at herself, and you couldn't help but laugh along! in fact, you'll be laughing so hard, and so much, just might be smart to read this one in the bathroom to save time and embarrassment, if you know what i mean!!

Okay, I love Judy Baer. You know how they say laughter's the best medicine? Well, her books are my new kind of medicine! This book is about a sleepwalker and the situations she finds heself waking up in...'nough said.

This may be a christian romance but this book was filled with a whole lot of funny and a tad romance. I was laughing out loud through the entire book. I loved it!
