A reprint of a British 1927 guide. Not a lot of practical stuff for the modern age, actually, but lots of entertaining insight for the historically minded: when you should lift your hat for a lady & how much; when you may address a lady; forms of written and spoken address for various types of people (nobility & other gentry, clergy, military ranks, etc). Plus a fun and handy guide to pronunciation of names (Beauchamp = "Beecham", Ruthven = "Rivven", etc.). I'm glad to have this on the reference shelf.
