I will fully admit that I don't have a kid. I downloaded this book because it was free and the title made me laugh.

That being said, this was just so delighfully weird. Kinda gross but in a hilarious way. Farts are always funny right. The story was cute and the illustrations were excellent. This should definitely be good for making your little ones laugh.

The illustrations are amazing, and the simple tale of this young boy and his fart is a fun read that parents can enjoy with their children. Filled
with humor, heart and passion, this book is a great first foray into a beautifully created world that can last for several books to come.

There are times when I miss the days I could sit down and read my kids a cute story or two. Mind you I have two teens now and a tween. Those days aren’t totally over though! I’ve picked up a few different silly and fun books lately just for the heck of it. I figured, why not? Heck, I even offered to read them to my kids! Laugh if you must, but just think about it. It’s something to connect you to your kids, no matter their age. If if you pick a book like this one, then you’re guaranteed to share a laugh or two. Laughter is an amazing bonding tool too.

In this super silly and cute book, you are introduced to Timmy and of course, his little fart. Timmy has no idea why this “thing” is following him around. When he stops and asks the thing, it tells him that he is his little fart! I laughed when I read that. It was so unexpected for me. Because I mean I thought he would have a name of some sorts.

As their dialogue continues, Timmy is trying to figure out what to do with him. Little Fart just really wants to be his friend and tries to be helpful and answer his questions. Timmy just doesn’t understand how he can be friends with a fart, he doesn’t want people to smell Little Fart and mess up his life.

This all leads up to a good little message in the end. Just because he’s Little Fart, doesn’t mean he doesn’t have some value so to speak. He doesn’t look the way you’d expect, he doesn’t smell like you’d expect (well maybe!) and he doesn’t sound like you expect. Does Timmy choose to judge Little Fart on outer expectations, or does he accept him? Acceptance is a valuable lesson for kids. I enjoyed the humor behind the lesson.

I read this out loud to my oldest daughter (16) and she laughed as well. She loved the illustrations and the irony of Little Fart following Timmy. We had each other laughing hysterically by the end of it. We discussed the finer points of what did we think they did together every day?

My son and youngest daughter read it by themselves. I could hear their giggles from across the room as they read. They both said the illustrations were really well done, and added to the story. Both thought Little Fart was cute.

My youngest daughter has a developmental delay, so she reads at a significantly slower pace than the average 6th grader. She was able to read this on her own and fairly quickly. That’s a big thing for her, and it made her confidence go up some too. Yet again, another reason why sharing even the most random, silly, short books with your kids is so valuable. Regardless of their age!

Positives:

I think the illustrations were well done, it was cute and quick to the point.

Negatives:

I would have liked it more if it was a little longer and with a little more content.

I give it a 5 out of 5 stars!

I ordered this book from Amazon, and received a copy that had some errors in it. After leaving a review on Amazon, I was contacted by the author directly-apologizing for the copy that I received – which turned out to be an accident. (It was an early copy that accidentally got uploaded into the final product.)

Today I received a new copy in the mail along with the next book in the series. I can now see what I missed in the first copy, and I'm glad that I stopped to leave that review and to find out that it could be fixed!

Both of these books are very cute, and you can't help but laugh at the boy with his little fart following him around. They are the best of friends and they're there for one another, to help each other out. Also, the pictures are very interesting to look at.

Not only would I recommend these books, but I commend Ben and Sam as human beings-because they took the time to actually follow up and care about what kind of experience I had. I look forward to the next in the series!

What a great book. Children of any age are going to enjoy reading or listening to this book. The colorful pictures will hold even the youngest of children's attention. Timmy meets a new friend, but one that is scared to be friends with. What will people think of his new friend? But after sitting down and setting up some ground rules, Timmy and his friend, Little Fart can be friends forever.
Ben Jackson and Sam Lawrence have written a book that parents can read with their child to help them to understand when and where it is appropriate to break wind. The way the book is written will help children to also learn how to interact with others in a polite way as well as solving a problem.
If you have a young child, who would enjoy a funny book which teaches a lesson. Then this is the book for you. You won't be disappointed.

I read this a few days ago.

I really liked the concept and I can see it having a strong appeal to certain children, just based on the title and the cover alone. The illustrations are well done.

As I read, though, I tried to see it as I would have when I was around six or eight years old. I probably would have giggled a bit at the word "fart" (I still do) but I would have found the illustrations a bit repetitive. There's little action in the story so the pictures are mostly of a boy and his fart standing or sitting together. I would have wanted more of a story, too. The book is incredibly short and comes to an end before there is any real adventure.

Cute idea, just wish the creators had gone a bit further with it.

Super cute! How could you not pick up a book with this fun title? The Day My Fart Followed Me Home hits all marks of childhood silliness. Authors Ben Jackson and Sam Lawrence begin a unique tale with Timmy, whose little fart follows him home from school. The little fart believes that they are friends, but Timmy does not want anyone to see the disgusting thing, nor does he want them to smell it. A child will absolutely adore the budding of the unlikely friendship, both in the way Timmy is in a panic about the situation, and in the cuteness of his little green pal. Timmy eventually comes around, but only at the persistence of his friend, who is optimistic and pleasant, and everything a fart should NOT be. The overall tone is fun and will work for children who have a silly side.

As an adult reader, I was really enthusiastic about the friendship of the unlikely pair and the theme of the book. Also, the illustrations worked perfectly with the story, and the reading is simple enough for the intended audience. The Day My Fart Followed Me Home should be a welcome addition to any children’s library and will provide both adults and children with a good laugh around bedtime or any time of the day. Authors Ben Jackson and Sam Lawrence have zoomed in on normal childhood embarrassments and curiosities and made a complete story about it, including a theme of friendship. I recommend the story to children and know it will be a cherished book for many.

My favorite part was when the fart was sitting on his bed and he got surprised and almost fell off the bed. And he didn't want to be friends at first but they ended up being friends. The kids name was Timmy and Timmy had rules when the fart was his friend. 1. Stay at home when I'm at school. 2. Stay away from people and 3. whenever we are on a walk stay away from people. I ordered this book as the prequel to the Christmas book to send overseas and was SO disappointed to pick it up today only to discover that the same book was printed twice in one binding. Ugh! Returning and reordering. Booooooo!

This was a funny book about a boy and a fart. Timmy was annoyed with his fart until he chased him home. They began talking and said they would be best friends forever. Overall was pretty cute!

My kid liked it

In her own words, “I like it because the toot stinked. It was funny when the toot followed him back home.”
