Montgomery Ink #6.6

Love, Honor, and Ink

Rate this book
In a bonus Montgomery Ink novella, it seems that falling for your best friend isn’t as easy as fiction says and friends of the Montgomerys might finally find their happy ever after.

Wedding planner Arianna King had everything planned out down to the last detail until her father’s ultimatum changed everything. Now she’s alone, trying to open her own business, and seemingly failing at every corner. Just when things start to look even bleaker, she’ll find out just how much she can rely on her best friend—and herself.

Being in love with your best friend isn’t always easy as Harper Rosso knows. He’s been by her side since the beginning, but now that she finally has time to breath, he might just be able to show her what he could be for her. Only he’ll have to make sure he’s ready to take that chance and perhaps lose her forever.

Sparks fly between the two of them once they finally take their relationship to the next level. Only the burning temptation than fills them might not be enough in the face of what they left behind and what threatens their future.

Love, Honor, and Ink was originally found in the Once Upon a Valentine Anthology.

This is a quick and sweet read - the perfect little Friends to Lovers romance! It's okay if you're not familiar with the Montgomery Ink/Inc. world - Harper and Arianna are affiliated with but not a part of the clan. They are childhood friends and have grown up to maintain that relationship, even becoming next door neighbors. Harper has had romantic feelings for Arianna for a long time, but hasn't voiced them due to her very independent and headstrong nature, in addition to not wanting to do anything to damage their current relationship. Arianna has always only seen Harper as her best friend, but once she experiences a serious upheaval in her life {thanks to her douche of a dad and Harper's brother}, she's able to reanalyze her feelings for Harper. He also takes the opportunity to be more demonstrative towards Arianna and they discover how good they can really be together when they venture out of the "just friends" territory.

I loved this addition to the Montgomery World. Friends to lovers always make for the best novellas, especially when you've already met the leads in previous books :) This way, there's less time that has to be given to the connection of the leads and more time to the present and forward. And that's exactly what Carry Ann did, phenomenally! Excellent novella full of heart. Your heart will smile over this one #TRUST!

This is Arianna and Harper’s story. Harper has been in love with his best friend for a while. She has no idea. She is working on opening her own business and it’s not going well. She is leaning more and more on her best friend Harper. What happen when feeling start to grow. Can they try to be more then friends? Are they willing to risk everything for that? If she loses Harper she will be all alone. Can she handle that? Is it worth the risk to try for love? Can Harper get Arianna to give him a chance to prove he is the one for her?

I loved these characters and the side characters. I felt I could connect with the characters and the story was a great read.

I recommend this book.

Love, Honor, and Ink A Montgomery Ink
by Carrie Ann Ryan
WOW! I really enjoy this story. It's awesome, this book is a part of a series that I have loved reading. If you are like me I absolutely loved reading Carrie Ann Ryan. Her characters are magnificent and this story has all romance, action and twists you could want. Arianna is a strong woman who is determined to live her own life. Harper is Arianna best friend but he is in love with her but he doesn't want her to know or see it. Of course falling in love with your best friend is never easy. What a absolutely enjoyable read this story is. Overall, this story is a real treat for the heart, eyes and soul. I have always enjoyed reading Carrie's stories and new loves and I know that whoever read her books will as well. What great work by Carrie Ann Ryan and I know her books are best sellers for they are always fantastic. Carrie Ann Ryan is such a talented author. I have read all of her books from every genre she has written and so I am a total book stalker of her book, I enjoyed all of the stories I read in this series. The characters and dialogue are fantastic. I received an ARC of Love, Honor, and Ink A Montgomery Ink and I have to say I so loved the way the story unfolded. I'm happy to say that this story has something for everyone, it's a pure delight to read and I can’t wait to get to read another one, or other books by Carrie Ann Ryan. What a fantastic romance story with scorching hot and steamy parts that will make you fall for this couple. It's so fascinating. If you haven't read her other stories it's ok because they can each be read as a standalone but I can say you will be happy to read her other books. Again I didn't want to stop reading! I received a ACR copy from Carrie and I voluntarily reviewed this book, because I love sharing my thoughts with my fellow readers!

What I liked about this one was that Ari took the hits she did early in the book and bounced back with some help. She took a really crappy situation and came out better, ended up doing exactly what she wanted and found more in her best friend, a great HEA.

A short and sweet story of friends turned into lovers. How can you not root for Harper and his best friend Ari. It's amazing how one's true love can be standing right beside you..you just need to stop and look or in Arianna's case have a life altering reality check lol.

This was a great addition to the series, but if you haven't started the series yet don't worry you can read this book then go back to the beginning and nothing will be spoiled.
The chemistry between Ari and Harper was great, you could tell that they always loved one another as friends but then something started to change and they were both afraid of the what ifs, what if they took it to the next level and it didn't work out, what if they were the only one with the sexual attraction. I always enjoy a good friends-to-lovers story and this was a very enjoyable read.
(I read this as part of the Once Upon A Valentine Anthology which is no longer available, but this story is now available separately)

Readers looking for a quick read full of warm fuzzies will get just that in this friends to lovers romance will very little drama to keep the likable main couple from reaching their HEA. Setting the story amidst the world of wedding planning adds an extra layer of romance to this charming tale.

Arianna's entire life has revolved around weddings and she takes great pride in the business that has been in her family since her grandmother founded it. Her father has taken the heart out of it by only catering to the wealthiest, but with his retirement on the horizon, she hopes to change all that. Things don't go as planned after bitter words are said and ultimatums issued which leads her to starting over. She's not alone though as her best friend Harper is there driving her to succeed. Starting her own company is tough, and with mysterious occurrences plaguing her events, she'll need him more than ever. His emotional support soon leads to more in a sensual connection that has her feeling as though she's becoming too dependent, putting their HEA in doubt. Ari truly loves weddings and is biding her time at the start of the story, putting up with her father's nastiness, in order to be promoted. She's strong-willed and very capable, but for too long has been made to feel inferior, which has her lashing out when her need for Harper becomes all too clear. Whenever she needs support he's there before she even asks as their connection is deep and comfortable which charmed me. Despite her moments of insecurity, absence makes the heart grow fonder in a conclusion that gets wrapped up with a pretty bow.

Harper's a hard-working man who's the exact opposite of his slick and creepy brother Justin. He's gone off on his own in choosing a career in restoration and feels no shame in working with his hands, despite how much Justin belittles him. The only time the belittling gets to be too much is when Ari is the subject. Ever since he met her he's wanted her but is too scared to express his feelings out loud. When he fears his brother got her through manipulative means it shocks him into action and has him offering to mix his helping her in business while enjoying pleasures together. It's a match made in Heaven and the transition just feels natural. Her fears though lead to an unnecessary hiccup that was thankfully resolved before it became too annoying. Harper's an immensely appealing hero. He's a supportive friend on an emotional level saying and doing just what Ari needs before she even knows what she needs. He's loyal and always watching over her and his tender words and deeds endeared him to me and had me rooting for him. Overall he's sweet and sexy and exactly what every lover of romance wants their hero to be.

This was a charming read full of warm fuzzies and was a nice addition to the Montgomery Ink series, though we don't see too much of them. They're more on the periphery, but still showing the supportive and familial nature they're known for and that readers have seen throughout the series. The focus is definitely on Harper and Ari which shows a crackling connection with sexual tension becoming more palpable as the story progressed. Not a whole lot of time was spent in the bedroom but what was there was flirty and sensual. Their relationship was easy going and joyful which is why Ari's blow-up felt so out of place. It felt manipulative and unnecessary, especially as it was over before it barely started. Another part of the story that felt out of place was the sabotage of Ari's wedding events. It was an over the top element that was resolved all too quickly and was unsatisfying too. All in all this was a sweet read with a likable main couple that made for an entertaining afternoon. It was a romance that made me feel good and took all my cares away for an hour or two.

My Review ~

Love, Honor, and Ink is a novella within the Montgomery Ink series. While it can be read as a standalone, I'd recommend reading it as part of the series as there are characters from other books who make an appearance.

This is a short, sexy, yet sweet story featuring a friends to lovers romance with Harper and Arianna. We've previously met both characters before within this series as Harper works with Wes and Storm and Montgomery Construction, and Arianna is a wedding planner who is friends with some of the other characters in the series.

Harper and Arianna have been friends since they were young and next door neighbors for a while. However neither knows that the other wants to be more than friends. Things change in their lives after Arianna's father pulls some shenanigans at their wedding planning company and she ends up walking out. Harper stands by her side supporting her as she starts her own event planning company. He encourages her, ends up giving her a helping hand, but keeps his feelings to himself because he doesn't think she feels that way for him. Their emotions come to a head and what starts out as a one night stand evolves into a relationship and more.

This really is almost more of a short story vs a novella in this series. However it helped that the two main characters had known each other for so long. It made the friends to lovers storyline quite easy to believe and it fit both of their characters. The story did flow well and I loved their falling into their relationship. They had a pretty damn perfect connection they were just super stubborn and refused to tell the other how they felt.

Obviously if you're a fan of this series, this is a must read. If you've not read the series before this would be a cute way to dive in because while, yes, it's best read in order, you won't lose the entire Montgomery clan storyline by reading this first or out of order. This is definitely one to sit and enjoy because it'll leave you with a big smile on your face by the end.

Just finished reading Love, Honor, and Ink and honestly I'm not sure what to write down... First of all, I'm in the middle of my exams and still I read this in a day so that says something I guess. Lucky for me that it's not a full novel because I really do need to study.
First of all, there's not a whole lot of Montgomery in this story. But there is Harper, who we know, and he know works for Montgomery Inc. (NOT INK but for Wes and Storm) And Harper has secretly been in love with his best friend Ari. Sounds a little familiar right? But don't worry this is a whole different story. I honestly don't want to say too much about the story because I'm afraid to spoiler a bit too much, and since this is a novella that's so easy to do. One thing I do want to say is that since it is a novella I always get a little nervous when I'm coming to the last chapter, because it means it is almost over and I still want to see so much happening. And in this case I really thought there were so many things still unresolved or that I just wanted to read still. But no worries because till the last page things are happening and even though of course I want more, I'm not left with a feeling that it's just not done yet. So yeah, it saves me a lot of time just wondering (which I just can't use right now, but always hate anyway), the only thing I would like extra is maybe a little more background, how do they know each other, where does Harper actually come from? Because I personally have a feeling there is still so much more to explore about Harper, and his past especially.
Basically I would really love to see them both back, maybe have Ari plan some future weddings;) And if you like the Montgomery Ink series, this one is worth reading. And if you don't know the series this novella can still be read, but beware that it may get you hooked on the series.

Love, Honor and Ink was a fantastic short story told in the Montgomery Ink world. It read like a full-length book, chock full of awesome friends-to-lovers goodness.

Arianna's father is absolutely the worst of the worst in the parental hall of fame. I promise you will want to murder death kill the dude in about two pages flat. He denies her the promotion she deserves in his big-time wedding planning company unless she marries a slime ball. Thank goodness she has the presence of mind to tell him to stuff it and quits. So, she starts her own company and decides to run it the way she always wanted to.

Her biggest cheerleader, support system, shoulder to cry on is her BFF, neighbor and the slime ball's brother, Harper. Harper has secretly been in love with Arianna forever, but of course has never told her so. Now that she's away from her father and needs some help - so, Harper is there ready to step in and be her knight in shining armor.

Harper suffers in silence. He sees Ari every day. He loves everything about her. But, he's spent years dating other women and watching her date other men because he's afraid that if he makes a move and she shoots him down, it will ruin what they have. But, all of a sudden, it seems like Ari might return his feelings. And if that's even possible, he's going to go for it.

And because Harper went for it, I was totally in his corner all the way. Even when Ari tried to resist him - I was cheering for Harper. Because it was SO OBVIOUS these two were totally meant for each other. Even though the story was short, it had a great lead-in to the story, a substantial amount of sexual tension, some pretty great drama and mystery, and of course some super hot sexy times. And also some appearances from some of our favorite Montgomeries.

Regardless of whether you're a die-hard Montgomery Ink fan or if you've never read a single book in this story, this novella will take you away for an hour and leave you with a smile on your face when you're done.

This is a novella on the fringes of the Montgomery Inc world. The hero's, Harper, who's working under Storm and Wes Montgomery, trying to prove he's qualified to be a full-time foreman. He's been in love with his best friend, Arianna, as he can remember, but she's oblivious. Harper's loyal, strong, and Alpha, he's afraid to confess his feelings to Arianna fearing he'll lose her. Arianna's the only child of the owner of King Wedding Planners. She's put into a no-win situation so she quits and starts her own business rather than give in. Arianna's determined, single-minded, and independent. "Love, Honor, and Ink" is a short Friends to Lovers novella. The length keeps it from being as sexy as Carrie Ann Ryan's full length novels. The pace's slows only when Arianna frets over the growing seriousness of her relationship with Harper. The characters are strong and the storyline's intriguing.
"Love, Honor, and Ink" is an enjoyable short read. It's not as wild and sexy as the Carrie Ann Ryan books I adore. However it works as something to tide me over until my next fix. We get to see a few Montgomerys which is always a good thing. The main characters are engaging and likable. There is one main secondary character and she's delightful. This is a nice little addition to the Montgomery Ink family and hopefully we'll see more of Harper in series.

Love, Honor, and Ink was such a fun, quick read, and Arianna won me over almost immediately. I loved getting to spend time with her as she tried to rebuild after her father’s ultimatum—though for the record, I was not a fan of said father. Arianna’s determination, paired with the quiet strength she doesn’t always realize she has, made her incredibly easy to root for.

And Harper? He’s the kind of steady, blue-collar hero who makes a friends-to-lovers romance feel both comforting and electric. Their long-standing friendship gives every moment between them this warm, familiar undertone, and when the shift finally happens, the sparks feel earned. Watching them navigate that leap from friends to something far more tender (and far more tempting) had me making quite a few reader noises. The dual POV added so much, too—you really feel both sides of that “oh no, I’m in love with my best friend” panic and longing.

Because it’s a novella, the story moves fast, but it still delivers all the emotional beats you want from an opposites-attract, wedding-planner-meets-his-hands-dirty fling. And the brief appearances from the Montgomerys were the perfect little bonus touch without overshadowing Arianna and Harper’s journey.

The ending left me smiling, and honestly? I really hope we get to see these two again in future books.

I love it when author’s give us a glimpse into the lives of secondary characters. And that’s just what happens in Love, Honor, and Ink. The main characters were previously introduced in books 6 and 6.5 the Montgomery Ink series, but it isn’t necessary to read them before diving into this book. In fact, if you’re new to the series this could be a tantalizing taste to get you started and addicted fast. It’s pretty much a standalone. Ryan had me at friends to lovers. I’m a sucker for these stories and this was a good one.

Arianna King is overworked, stressed out and a bit oblivious. She’s also a bit of a spitfire and has some lady balls. Harper Rosso is skilled with his hands, in love with his best friend and downright sex. Not only did their chemistry burn up the sheets, there was a heartfelt connection between the two. I loved how Harper had Arianna’s back. For a novella, there was decent character development. Since the story revolved more around Arianna, her backstory was more intricate. But that doesn’t mean Harper was left in the cold, he had his own strengths and weaknesses. And yes, there were some Montgomery Ink cameos.

Overall, a sexy but sweet read that is sure to leave you smiling. It certainly did me. There’s a small amount of drama. But eh, what’s a book without it. It’s not angsty drama and it suits the storyline. If you’re looking for something that’ll give you the warm fuzzies but not take up too much of your time, I’d definitely pick this one up.

I’ve never written a review for a series as a whole, but I will for this because it’s not worth it to write individual ones when I have the same thoughts. I want to start with how much I do adore Carrie Ann Ryan. I’ve met her in person and follow her social media. As much as I like her as a person, and I’ve loved some other books, this series was just bla for me. Overall each book I listened to I found myself getting distracted and rewinding because they weren’t holding my attention. They had the set up and makings of being edgy emotional awesomeness, but I feel they all juuusssttt missed the mark. Don’t get me wrong, they were decent books, you should give them a try, but for me they just weren’t loveable quality.

I know there’s so many others out there that are just head over heels in love with the Montgomery family, and I do love the concept of such a close family, but these books were just a tad bit drawn out and repetitive that I lost interest. Hey I still listened to all of them though giving them a shot! You should too then tell me what you think! Sorry Carrie! I’m sure I’ll find something by you that I love 🙂

I review, much to my enjoyment, for Carrie Ann Ryan. She does not disappoint her loyal fans with "Love, Honor, and Ink", continuing with the Montgomery Ink extended family. Arianna "Ari" King is in the business of planning peoples dreams.... Their wedding dreams that is. She has faithfully worked for her father, continuing the legacy her grandmother started. Her father though, seems to start going a little to far with things. Just when she seems to believe she will be getting a much deserved promotion, her father drops a severe ultimatum on her, forcing her to make the decision to leave the company and her legacy. In steps Harper, her best friend, the on person who she can rely on for anything and everything. Little does she know, Harper is madly in love with Ari and always has been. After a many little mishaps at her planned weddings, which Harper fixes every time, they learn the truth behind everything happening, and it threatens to tear them apart. A "relationship" that started as "just one night", ends up being exactly what they both need for their "happily ever after".

Arianna “Ari” King starts her day happy about her future. Then in the next minute her future is up in the air. It was interesting to watch Ari handle every obstacle our author put in front of her. Harper Rosso has a job he loves. He’s also a friend that a lot of women would love to have. With Spring starting in my neck of the woods, this is a perfect time to read this story.

Scenes moved seamlessly from one to another. Which means that the ending is getting closer and closer. Once the ending came, I liked that it made me smile but it seemed more like our couple were just beginning a wonderful life together. It’s a story that could be a standalone because you don’t see too much of the Montgomery’s it’s all about Arianna and Harper. It’s steamy without a lot of heavy sex, so don’t be afraid to pick this one up. You may find that this is incentive to see what this series is all about.

I was not compensated nor was I required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.

Oh I love that Carrie gave us a new novella that has a part with the Montgomery's. We all knew Harper and Ari have been best friends since they were kids. They have been so close that they live next door to each other. True friendship is acknowledged with this book. I love the feels you get with Love, Honor, and Ink. You have sexiness and you have you have true love!

Ari is down on her luck from the get go. But Harper is there ready to fix everything. Even though he has started a new journey in the work world, he makes the time to help Ari. But what happens when you have only have relied on yourself and all of the sudden someone is there to make your life easier? You freak the *F* out lol. This short story gives you what you need to get through the wait of the next full novel. I highly recommend reading this new Novella that is out now! You get class and sexiness mixed together! And come on..who does not love the hard muscle of a man that makes the "V"!!

Arianna is given an ultimatum by her father either marry Justin Ross or the family wedding planning business would be sold to their rivals so Arianna tells him what he can do with his offer. She goes to her best friend Harper, Justin’s brother, to explain what her father has done and he convinces that she has the skill to start her own company. Harper has been in love with Arianna for years but never said anything as he didn’t want to destroy their friendship but as they work together to get her new business off the ground Arianna starts to see Harper differently and when she finds out he feels the same there is no going back. I loved how supportive and protective that Harper had always been of Arianna and that they were finally able to find their way to each other. Love, Honor and Ink is a superb addition to the Montgomery Ink series. Not a lot of Montgomery action in this story as this is a side story about friends of the Montgomery's but that's okay because I enjoy reading more about the ones we only catch a small glimpse of in the main stories.

Definitely enjoyed reading more about Harper Rosso and Arianna King. They've been best friends for a long time but Harper has more than friendly feelings for Ari. When Ari's dad issues an ultimatum resulting in her leaving the company she has worked so hard far, Harper swoops in to help. I loved watching the sparks fly between these two and cannot wait for the next installment in this series.

That was a short and quick one!

Once again Carrie Ann writes main characters that resonate deeply with me and gets in that one character (if you've read this story you know who I'm talking about) that I want to hit in the head...hard...with a heavy object...
And just when I thought I'd seen the worst, there was Harper's brother, Justin. OMG, someone hold my purse and hand me a chair...what an obnoxious douche!

But these awful family members didn't ruin my enjoyment of the story. As I said at the beginning of these thought, it was a really quick read and this made it also feel a little bot rushed. Though I got to know Harper and Ari I would have loved to spend more time with them.

As much as I love the Montgomery Ink series, this one felt a bit forced for me. I do love the novellas of some of the side characters that are not Montgomery's themselves, but are part of the extended family. This one was not my favorite though. There was not much to go on for Harper and Arianna as they were already best friends and knew each other so well. The book was more abut Arianna and how she deals with starting her own company after her father gave her an ultimatum she wanted no part of. Harper was more of a sidekick in this one as there was not much in the way of needing to romance each other.

A cute quick story, but not as good as the others so far.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - I LOVE THIS AUTHOR!!
Love, Honor, and Ink is a delightful novella about Arianna King, a wedding planner trying to navigate life after a major setback, and Harper Rosso, her best friend who has quietly been in love with her for years. The tension between the two as they transition from friends to lovers is both sweet and complicated. Arianna’s personal and professional struggles add a layer of depth to the romance, and Harper’s patient love for her creates a touching dynamic. It’s a short, heartwarming story about trust, second chances, and the complexities of falling in love with your best friend.

ARC REVIEW

This is a great novella, a nice inbetween story about two side characters finally admitting they are a perfect match. Harper has always loved Arianna but he's satisfied with just being her friend while she concentrated on becoming the best wedding planner in the city. That is until her father tells her she's fired unless she marries a complete asshat, who unfortunately is also Harper's brother. Arianna would rather start over from scratch then marry Harper's weasley brother. Doing weddings the way she always wanted to do them on a much smaller and intimate setting. The Montgomery's and Harper are will to help her out with the start of her new business.

Harper decides he's done with waiting, he's going to show Arianna exactly what she means to him and Arianna without the curtain of her father ambition covering her eyes she starts to see Harper in a completely new way.

Overall, this was a great addition to the Montgomery series. It's nice to see the side characters get their HEA without taking away from the main characters.

"Love, Honor, and Ink" (A Montgomery Ink Novella) Carrie Ann Ryan- Arianna must start over again when her father takes away the company she has been a big part of. She starts over with her own wedding planning company. Harper is there for her every step of the way. He has been in love with Arianna for years and is her best friend. With so much pressure on her for the success of her business, we see few bumps in the road. I first read this in the Once Upon a Valentine Anthology which I was gifted. My opinion is my own. This is mine 5 Stars!
