Provocation is book three in the Explicitly Yours Series.

For Beau Olivier, control is everything. He thought getting his power back from Lola Winters meant he’d won the game, but all he did was teach her how to play. Now, Lola’s ready to take on the master himself, and only she knows the rules.

In order for Lola to get close enough to hurt him, she has to love him. It won’t be easy to love the devil, but it will be worth it—if it means sending him to hell where he belongs.

🌬 ’Revenge went against her nature, but Lola’s motive ran as deep as Beau’s betrayal had cut. This wasn’t eye for eye or tooth for tooth—it was the most valuable thing you could give another person. Hope for a future, raw vulnerability. This was heart for heart.’ 🌬

yayy i loved her here, you go girl!! make him pay👏

’Beau loved to play—to hunt his prey. That must’ve been because he’d never lost.
Maybe someone ought to beat him at his own game. Maybe then he wouldn’t think it was so fun.’

tbh i haven’t decided whether to like beau since the first book or not, i thought he was okay, nothing stood out about him. but here in this book he was really acting like an ass it’s annoying & i’m on Lola’s side all the way.

’He’d made the grave mistake of underestimating her. He’d thought the game was over. He’d waved his white flag too soon.
He was losing control. He didn’t care. He wanted to lose it. He was the master—and she’d played him. She’d turned predator into prey.’

he has no right to be mad over Lola leaving her yooo, come on, he hurt her first (on purpose i might add) and he deserved everything that’s coming. onto the next book byee

Only a monster could invent a scheme to hurt someone so thoroughly. Only the devil himself would actually go through with it, though.

sick. i feel so sick. so fucking terribly sick.

HEA:
“Was any of it real?”
Beau stared at her. “Everything was real.”

Disturbing, sad, erotic, dysfunctional, amazing. My most highly anticipated read of 2015.
The characters were perfectly portrayed and the story unfolded like a beautiful and thrilling puzzle. It was all so gut wrenching and sad and earth shattering.
Stringing words together after reading this… is actually impossible: this book was something else. It shook me, it hurt me. It forced me to feel.

I saw throughout Lola’s sad eyes the future they could have painted together, the once in a lifetime love and the butterflies everyone has experienced at least once in their life… But I saw her hurt too. I saw the what ifs. I saw the sliding doors. I saw everything and anything.

I always thought that people are often driven by their fear and so the characters we read about, but this time Lola proved me wrong.
This time Lola was driven by something else. Her loss. Her pain.
I saw it everywhere, in every page, in every word, in every thought.
“Lola knew as early as six year old when her father had left, that your first broken heart was also your most painful.”

She was heartbroken.
Beau broke her over and over and , I didn’t think all the scotch tape in the world could possibly piece her heart back together again.
And I fear that vengeance won’t do that too. Because deep down, she still loves him. Under all that hurt, her heart still beats for him. Her soul still sings for him.
“They were both getting what they deserved. Her, a chance to start over and find peace, and him -nothing. They couldn’t both win the game.

Once upon a time Beau Olivier stole her (and my) heart, forced her too see how much she was worth and how to stand up for herself.
Once upon a time I thought he was the strongest man I’d ever read about.
Now I’ve come to realize he’s as broken as everyone else.
He’s a human being made of flesh and blood and mistakes and regrets.
Now I’ve realized that Lola was partially right. He is his money, but only because he thinks that’s all he’s good for.
For almost ten years he let his mother and his cunning step sister walk all over him with their demands and their selfishness.
He let them, because he thought that’s what he was supposed to do. He didn’t think he was worth of their love without his millions.
He could have had Lola without all the fancy clothes and the cars, but he lost his chance because he was so so so mistakingly blind.
He made me sad.
“Lola was gone. She’d pulled the rug out from under him, and this was all she’d left behind -a mess at his feet. Why? To punish him for loving her?

I have no idea how the fourth and final installment of this series is going to bring Lola and Beau back together. I seriously have no clue.
Because now he's the one who's hurting.

Once upon a time, Beau Olivier saved Lola’s life by opening her eyes. Then he shattered her heart with his manipulation and his pride. But the truth is I don’t really care about what he did. Lola belongs to him. He belongs to her. They deserve their HEA.
Brigitte, however, deserves to rot in hell.

One of the most beautiful series I’ve ever read.
Flawless writing.
Brilliant plot.
Read it. You won’t regret it.

sweet, sweet revenge.
I must admit I was ecstatic to see Beau lose control.

Without thinking, he slammed his fist into the steel cabinet. Satisfied by the throb in his hand, he did it again and again. “Beau,” Brigitte cried over the noise, “you have to calm down.” He turned on her. She had her palms over her ears. “Calm down? You want me to calm down?”

This is very dragged out at this point and the premise as to why Beau “randomly” picked up Lola at Hey Joe is revealed...hardly surprising. What is surprising is how pathetic a human being can be to seek revenge on such a vulnerable person as a stripper for not bowing to a rich guy wanting to buy you. Funny how years later Lola doesn’t have such issue with it.

Her counter revenge is immature and self destructive as well as frustrating to any mature reader. What is difficult in the audiobook is the back ten years, present, four weeks ago repetitive recollections etc. so confusing when you’re listening to the book. I am only continuing with the series because I’m stuck listening while driving! Captive audience 🙃

So I read the first two books and was intrigued enough to continue onto the third. But a forth book, really? Why! Each book has been a little over 200 pages. Theres really not much story, and could’ve easily been ONE book.

On to the story. Three books in and I’m still not sure how I feel about the story or the characters. There’s moments where I’m feeling them and hopeful for something. But then the overall store line is just unbelievable. Okay maybe not unbelievable but hello anything in the fictional world is possible. But if you’ve made this far, then you know Beau wanted revenge because Lola blew him in a strip club 10 years prior. 10 YEARS. Fast forward to this book and Lola spends 3 additional weeks ( after the truth about his betray surfaces) ... just so that she can get him to fall for her... (In three weeks. ) All so she can get the upper hand? That’s a whole lot of time and heartache for someone you barely know. Idk. Maybe I never really felt their feelings for one another were sincere. Ugh, idk. But I’m not continuing with the series because four books? Really.

Jessica Hawkins have a penchant for throwing off cliffhangers in ways that I never thought possible

I was excited over the fact that yessss Beau Olivier is finally getting what he deserved. But when Lola finally delivered her revenge I am like WHAT. I expect it to be epic like make Beau lose everything he own epic.

As I read on , hmm yeah it is still pretty bad ass of Lola to replay that nightmare for him, trick him into falling in love and

Now that Lola is gone , at least she thinks she have escape from Beau, its time for Beau to come out and play. Eeek I am so pumped for the next book

Well I finished this series and got my $2.50 worth... Maybe?
The characters aren't likeable and nothing makes sense. I did this so you don't have to. Also the last 2 books don't have any thing hot, heavy or fun. So there's that.

Ok, so I did NOT like this one as much as I did the other two. In my honest opinion, this was full of nonsense. Lola's "revenge" was bullshit and Beau's reason for why he's so addicted to her is not much different.

I did not like how the author kept going back and forth between past and present, and that's something, because I don't really mind past-present stories. Idk, I don't think it fit in the book. I though It would be like the others and start were we left off, but instead I was transported into the future and then dragged back to the present.

Beau was even more of an a-hole then he was in the other books. Oh, and cheers for me, because I can't stop imagining Sebastian Stan as Beau.

First book - They were getting to know each other, Lola and Beau. The second book - Lola broke up with Johny, and be together with Beau but it happened that Beau holds something in the past that hurt Lola so they broke up. The third book - Lola come back to Beau but only to hurt him back. Balas dendam lah kiranya ni.

Hmm. What should I say about this book? I have read 3 books in this series and have finished read the forth book too. Still going to give 2 🌟 for the last book.

~~I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads~~

This is the third in a serial, and it would seem there is one more to come. It has been a while since the previous installments came out, so it took me a few minutes to get right back into the story - but then it dashed along at a pace. We are now at a point where the bluff, counter-bluff, and twist in the tail are incredibly confusing! But for pace and madness, this is hard to beat. It has passed a point of no return, so I hope that the final episode brings some form of acceptable closure for these two damaged souls.

OMG why did I read this book?!

I really enjoyed the first book and it all went down hill in the last quarter of the second book. This book kept that downward spiral/trash fire going.

So many complications that weren't needed. This book was from both perspectives when the last two were only Lola. We jumped through time and were slowly shown things out of order, which was fine and I actually liked. However, the climax was completely predictable from the very beginning...

I stopped caring about the characters shortly into this book and just wanted to finish the story. I had high hopes because of how strong the first 1.75 books were. JFC this book just took a nose dive, and it's not even over.

The first two books were great. This third book, last in the trilogy, is really a tough one. I had high hopes and I am very disappointed.

Holy Lola and her sweet Melody!! Now THAT'S what I'm talking about!
A big slice of humble pie served shoved down Beau's throat and my feminist heart can't be more joyous.
When lotus drives away, Beau is left standing in the cloud of dust, mouth open and all
YESSSSSSSSSS
Fantastic turn of events are front and center, Lola discovers her spine and vengeance is the emotion that dominates.
Hold on to your horses, ride is getting bumpy!!
