So we left off in the book before this with our vampire/human threesomes releasing the ancient races back on the world by opening the Bloodstone and now they're overrun with Summanus, who eat people. So the war isn't going well and once things go very badly for one of our threesomes, they call in Rory, a vampire with attitude and her human ex-football player friend, Dante. They all meet up at Patrick, Dominic and Blythe's house. Sasha, a Russian spy and vampire loyalist also shows up...and is very much intrigued by Rory and Dante. Only Rory is super independent and pretty much off-limits, so Sasha hooks up with Dante and the two love/lust after Rory together. In the meantime, members of our cast deal with grief, hunt Summanus and create a nasty chemical that destroys everything. Rory decides, f**k, she'll go ahead and sleep with her beaus, but the relationship concept scares the crap out of her. In the meantime, Rory has concluded that they cannot win this war and everyone gets very cranky. Things really get ugly when two members of our cast are kidnapped and another member trades the nasty chemical to the enemy in order to get one of them back. This prompts Rory, to confront the Serene Ones and ploy some game theory to get what they want.

This brings back everybody from the previous books. It's nice being able to catch up with all my old favorites (though OMG I had no idea it would be so hard to keep them all straight...couldn't remember who had triangled up with who :-/) In contrast to the other books though, this doesn't focus entirely on the threesome that's supposed to be the focus of this entire book. I mean, you get the idea that Sasha, Rory and Dante are gonna be the center of all of it, but they're maybe 1/3 of the book, if that... The story constantly jumps from POV to POV, from threesome to threesome to threesome and it really breaks up the chemistry and relationship building among Dante, Sasha and Rory. Dante and Rory already have background, but they're strictly platonic (though Dante secretly loves Rory), but they don't FEEL that close. Dante and Sasha get hot and heavy and their chemistry goes through the roof and I kinda maybe believed in their love. But Rory just didn't fit, nor did I get enough time with her in the book to really care about her. I almost preferred Dante and Sasha get together and Rory gets to be alone like she wants. Still, the sex was hot. But I really wanted more focus on these guys and less on the drama of all the ones who already got their books.

So, all of these threesomes shack up together in a house and that's why things kinda star out stagnant (after all the drama with Rick, Ilaria and Marcus of course). Mostly nothing happens for the first 50% except we catch up with the characters, we learn how they're dealing with the war and what relationship struggles they're still trying to iron out. The majority of this book happens in about 2 days. Things don't really pick up until the 60-70% mark and then it gets more interesting - with Rory leading the creation of the nasty chemical, Summanus kidnapping some other cast members and the emotional fallout of realizing they can't win the war. It definitely got more exciting and I became a bit more invested in all of it. The end was sort of deus-ex-machina-ish, but I totally understand why...don't wanna mess with the HEA and that's really the only way to make sure that permanent outcomes don't end up destroying it. Still, I question the long-term HEA since so many of these threesomes involve one or more vampires who are going to end up alone and miserable when their human spouses die. I can't help but go there in my mind. :-( A good, sexy conclusion and I'm glad I finished this series up.

Even though I pre-ordered this book I put off reading it until today. I wasn't looking forward to the end of the series. I liked or loved a lot about this book. The ending was rather surprising, but I totally will not complain about the outcome. I don't have specifics, I know that stinks, but I can say that I enjoyed this book and got a few twinges to read the books starring some of my favorite couples again ... or just read the whole series over.
I will miss this interesting world, but good thing TCP has a big backlist for me to catch up on (and get more broke trying to do so.)

A thrilling, thought-provoking conclusion to this amazing series!!!

There is a stalemate in the war with humanity and the Summanus. Summanus eat humans, and there are more every day. The story revolves around all those involved in the war – but focuses on Rory Rafferty, theoretical physicist, stunning beauty and 800 year old vampire. Having lived through an age when women had little or no rights she maintains a separation focusing on her intellect, and feels falling in love would weaken her.

Dante, ex-professional football player, is her closest friend and wishes to become more. Sasha joins the US contingent from Russia, is captivated by Rory, but becomes involved with Dante until….

With tactics under debate, relationships under pressure, and a possible alliance with the Elah – this story is an explosive conclusion to this engaging, suspenseful and steamy series.

YES!!!! So great! Tracy is a true “Renaissance Woman” whose stories are amazing and original, never hackneyed. Whether her characters are discussing game theory, organic weed killers, Myers-Briggs personality types, etc; they are multi-dimensional people who the reader would enjoy meeting in real life. Rory’s evolution from a seemingly cold, purely logical scientist to a… (Cannot give away the ending now can I?) is a riveting read.
It really is the little things that raise Tracy’s books to the level of great. Her attention to detail continues to astonish me. (Even something as simple as the ironic naming of “Pyrrhus” fire.) Yay Tracy!!!
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader copy of this book.

This is one of my favorite series this year. Now, as I read the final book in the series I wish for more, but all things must come to a fascinating, sexy, exciting, beginning, middle, and end.
Rory is a brilliant in so many ways but hides from attachments. Dante has loved her from afar but he's a champion at hiding his feelings. Sasha has returned to the compound to help his friend Marcus but as an introvert he hides from everyone. What will be the catalyst that brings these lonely people together.
All the great characters from all the books come together, bringing there individual talents along with a new alliance to battle the evil Summanus. Awesome emotional roller coaster, I'm going to miss this series but I look forward to all the new adventures to come.

Finally... I finished the series less than 3 weeks after another partial lockdown in my city, forcing me to work from home. The 5 star rating is for the whole series, since this is the last book. This series soothe my heart from Celtic Crossings *cough cough* ending. Still haven't moved on from that.

The book ends with HEA for all characters and trouples but I don't know, I want more happy scenes between them. The ending was quite rushed and sudden. What we call deux ex machina was the conclusion that we get 15 pages before it ends. But still, not complaining and in fact Tracy did a good job bringing the trouple in this book together in the chaos and war that is happening around them.

Great job Tracy! I'm gonna read more of your ménage series! #goawaycovid19

I read ALL these as a box set. Phew!!! WHAT a ride. LOVED them all. Took me a while though because I kept having to go back a few pages to keep track of the characters & what was going on. There’s such a depth of information & because it’s a box set it’s such a lot to take on board all at once. I liked the idea that each book had a triad at the heart of it beginning with Nial , Sebastian & Winter.
I really like the way Tracey interweaves the stories between triads of Vampires, Humans & paranormal. Love binds you & conquers all- sometimes!
If you knew nothing about Vampires to begin with you know a lot by the end of the series. Surprisingly one of the things you learn is that people WANT to be turned even now.
I did have a twitchy moment towards the end there when I wondered WHAT Tracey was doing but I should have had faith because it turned out well in the end thank goodness.
Get this set, read them! You will not be disappointed!!!!!!

This has been a great read again by an author who can turn her hand to almost anything.
Without putting in any spoilers I was surprised Rory took so long, the fact that absolutely everyone was all out to get the summani didn't shock me, they had to be dealt with sooner rather than later.
Everyone else had their own roles in the fighting against them & their own love life's which is pretty varied so you can learn quite a lot too. On how their love can be divided so equally whilst a raging war is going on.
I just got so involved in this book, I honestly couldn't decide who I fell in love with the most. Be it an old favourite grieving, or one of the others for just being them.
All the characters had their place, but if I had to choose ......
Yet another great read from a great author, a story to keep you on your toes too.

Loved it! A raunchy romance and awesome adventure with delightful and complex characters!
A very exciting and satisfying book - there’s nothing more I could have hoped for! This final in the Blood Stone series is an interesting and complex book with elements that satisfied my craving for:
a new romance which has highs and lows, as we get to know new and complex characters;
some smoking hot sex scenes to spice up the story;
re-visiting past characters and their continuing relationship development;
and an exciting, thought-provoking finale for the series!

Such a shame to see the end of this series but also a relief to know how it finishes!
There are so many more great books by Tracy Cooper-Posey – when an author is this good, I know I can pick up any of her books and enjoy an exciting and fulfilling escape to another world!!

This fifth and last book in Tracy Cooper-Posey's Blood Stone Series, is once again filled with strong characters, fighting for the continuation of the human race. We have Rory, a NASA physicist, Sasha, a spy, and Dante, a former football hero. They, along with those we've met in the series previous stories, must fight nightly to save not only mankind, but vampires and others that call earth home, against the man eating race called the Summanus. While these three work out their desires and fears of being together, they learn that man is losing this war. They are not only out numbered but have been betrayed. Grab this final adventure of the Blood Stone Series and feel the power of love and desire, of strength and fear, of hopelessness but the courage and willingness to give all. I hate to see a great series end, but if it must, what an ending it is.

Another enthralling, gripping and exciting read from Tracy Cooper-Posey. This is the 5th and final book in the "Bloodstone" series, and we revisit some of the triads from the previous books along with meeting a couple of new characters. This book mainly features on the budding relationship between Rory a centuries old vampiress her best friend Dante a former pro footballer along with a solitary Russian spy named Sasha and their budding romance as they and their friends fight the ultimate battle to save earth against the Summanus. We are taken on a rollercoaster of emotions in this story with lots of highs, lows, trauma and elation in the final battle to save humanity. I simply could not put this book down!
