Riley started working as an escort after the death of his parents so that he could afford to raise his younger siblings. He couldn't find another job that paid enough to clear the mountains of debt he'd been left with as well as send his brother and sister to college and he loved women anyway so there was no harm in it. Now his siblings are older, his money problems are behind him and he's also part owner of a successful bar he's been winding down his extracurricular job and seeing less and less clients on the side. When his ex-girlfriend Bree needs his help to escape from an abusive ex Riley immediately offers her and her young son a safe place to stay. Bree is the one who got away, the woman who he never stopped loving and now he'll do whatever it takes to keep her safe and hopefully win her back in the process. Only one thing is standing in his way - what Bree will say if she discovers his previous occupation.

Riley was such a fab character, he's very protective of his siblings and as the oldest brother he did what he had to to make sure they were able to stay together after the death of their parents. He took the weight of the world on his shoulders but never resented them for a minute and I loved how close the three of them are now as adults. Riley isn't ashamed of his past but Bree's opinion of him matters and he worries about what she will think if she finds out about his side job. Bree has had it pretty tough since she split up with Riley but he is the only man who has always been there for her and he's the one person she can turn to when her ex crosses a line she can't forgive and hurts their son. Riley never understood why Bree left him but when we learn more about her backstory it was utterly heartbreaking and it was very easy to root for the pair of them as a couple.

The one thing that put me off this story was a scene between Riley and one of his clients, he'd already decided to give up being an escort but rather than let his client down gently he decided to keep one last appointment with her. We don't get to see any of the details but it put me off that he had sex with another woman when he was about to start something with Bree, it wasn't technically cheating but it was a little close for comfort. Especially since he returns from meeting his client and immediately ends up having sex with Bree (he has to convince her to join him in the shower so he can wash the smell of the other woman away and that was just too much of a no, no for me!).

Apart from that I really enjoyed this story though and I already love Riley's brother Con and their best friend Shame. I can't wait to read both of their books so I'll definitely be continuing this series.

DNF for me.

Was enjoying it, minding my own business and reading and then got to Chapter 12.

At the beginning of Chapter 12, Riley is in bed with one of his clients. You know they've just had sex. The client then tells him that's the last time they'll see each other because she's met someone. Riley is fine with that. Gets up, gets dressed & leaves. Gets home and the heroine is waiting for him there. Tells him she wants him yada yada yada and Riley thinks to himself that he hadn't showered before leaving his client and surely the heroine can smell the other lady on him? Heroine doesn't take no for an answer so he works it that they'll take a shower together...that way he can wash the scent of the other woman off him and still be able to have sex with the heroine. HELL NO. So he starts Chapter 12 in bed with one person and ends Chapter 12 with him in the shower with the heroine. NOPE.

That completely turned me off and I immediately stopped reading it.

On the other hand, I am curious about the best friend & little sister's story so I will check out that when it comes out but for me, this one didn't work for me.

I am an angst whore. Escorts and pornstars are extra special sauce. I seek these books out. Some are fantastic, some are mediocre, some are cringey, rage inducing, fluffy bunny, etc. And some don’t deliver as promised. This one fell in to the last category.

And to clear up the main trigger about OW client. It’s very clear what happened between H/OW and H/h in chapter 12 ;)

The problem?
Riley squeezed his eyes closed.
If he took a deep enough breath, he’d smell Marnie’s perfume on his skin. Or maybe he just imagined he could. He didn’t know.
But hours ago, he’d been inside another woman and now the woman he loved was telling him she wanted him.
What kind of bastard would he be if he just…did it?
Whatever kind of bastard it makes me, then so be it.
Opening his eyes, he met her gaze. Then, slowly, he held out his hand.

Grade: C

Riley Steele became a high-end prostitute in order to keep a roof over his siblings heads when their parents died heavily in debt. He has reached most of his monetary goals and is now looking for a way to ease himself out of the business for good when an ex-girlfriend calls him for help from an abusive boyfriend. Riley never found out why Brianna left him but he has never stopped loving her and offers her a place to stay. When trouble finds its way to Riley’s door, he will have to come clean to Brianna and risk losing her again.

The first in a romantic suspense series based on a trio of siblings, I admit I was a little startled to find the romance was far more subtle than the title implies. I expected an erotic fueled base but instead found the romance was more of an element then a central point of the story. An interesting premise starts out strong though I felt the story faltered in places, only giving us the bare bones of certain scenes. There was also some issues of contradiction-we’d be given one scenario and then it would change later on The slow burn second chance romance is used to give props to Riley’s changing dynamics and the suspense plotline. Decent main character development through the secondary characters seemed to flesh out better and I found myself more curious too see what’s in store for them. Looking forward to seeing what’s in store for Charli and Con.

Welcome to F*ck Club; where the rules are as solid as the men behind them. Riley Steele hasn't always taken the traditional route when it comes to taking care of his family. But when the woman he's been in love with since he was young needs his help, he'll drop everything to save her; that includes the walls he's built to keep her out of his secret.

I loved Riley's character. Shiloh Walker's stories always hold such strong, complex characters whose backgrounds have such darkness that you want them to see the light and find their HEA. Riley is an alpha male with a secret heart of gold. He protects those he considers family; blood related and by choosing. When Brianna needs his help to escape an abusive situatuion in the middle of the night, he's her knight in black armor. These two have a history that is slowly revealed as Brianna's trouble looms overhead.

As with most of Walker's suspenseful romance, this story has an undercurrent of mayhem when Riley's clients begin to experience some frightening situations. She always has a way to put an unknown assailant within the story. And she always keeps you guessing! The multiple storylines blended so well together: Can Riley protect Brianna, his clients, AND his secret?

Hoping we get more for the other Steele siblings! Until next review...

“Is everything okay, Ry?”

The moonlight filtering in through the narrow slit in the curtains painted her skin with a soft, silvery light. Her eyes were darker than he’d ever seen them and he had to curl his hands into fists to keep from reaching for her.

“Everything’s fine, Bree,” he lied.

Even to his own ears, the words sounded hollow.

“Then why aren’t you talking to me? Why don’t you seem to want to look at me anymore?”

She was trying to torture him.

Slowly, he reached out and skimmed the back of his fingers down her cheek, careful to keep the touch light.

“We’re talking now. I’m looking at you now.”

“And you’re ready to haul ass out of here,” she said, looking wounded.

“Because if I don’t—” He snapped his jaw shut before the rest of the words could slip out, but he’d said too much already.

Her eyes widened. “If you don’t, what?”

“Bree.” Her name came out a low rasp. “Go to bed, okay? Go in there with your son and go to sleep.”

“I’ll go to bed when I damn well want.” She poked him in the chest with her finger. “How about you answer me now?”

He caught her wrist.

She tugged, and reflexively, he tugged back harder.

She crashed against his chest and the warm, soft weight of her had him biting back a groan.

She splayed the fingers of her left hand against his chest. He could feel her pulse bounding madly against his thumb. Slowly, he stroked that rapid beat, staring into her eyes.

“Everything’s wrong,” he said without thinking. “I can’t even go into detail about most of it, but the worst thing is that you’re here and I can’t touch you. I need you like I need my next breath. I always have. But you’re just as out of reach now as you’ve been for the past ten years.”

He started to let her go, telling himself he’d lock himself in the bathroom for the next hour, maybe longer. Or maybe he’d just go back downstairs and sleep in the torture device of a chair.

But, although he let go of Bree’s hand, she didn’t let go of him. The hand on his chest curled, fisting in his shirt and she moved closer.

“Who says you can’t touch me? Who says I’m out of reach?”

Her eyes lingered on his mouth and a groan rumbled out of him.

“Don’t,” he said, shaking his head.

“Don’t what?” She leaned in and kissed his chin.

The threads of his control started to snap like tension wires that threatened to cut and slice and wound as they broke.

Back away. Don’t touch, he told himself.

But he didn’t do that. He slid a hand into her hair and twisted the thick, heavy curls around his fingers. “You should go back to bed, Bree,” he said thickly.

“And you should let me decide what I should and shouldn’t do.”

Then she leaned in and kissed him.

Her tongue slid along his lower lip.

She dragged her hands down his chest and caught the front of his shirt, tugging it free of the waistband of his trousers. “I want you naked,” she said against his mouth. “I want your hands on me and I want to be naked.”

“Bree…”

She tipped her head back and met his eyes in the darkened room.

“We…” He shook his head rapidly. “Don’t do this, okay?”

“Why not?”

“Because I…” Air coming in ragged bursts, he tried to think of the most logical explanation. Because once wasn’t enough? Because he didn’t know how to handle this? Because…because…

There was a logical reason and he knew it.

But then Bree kissed him and the thought of logic died in a shuddering explosion.

Wrapping his arms around her, he pulled her up against him.

fck-club-con-cover Rule #2…Respect the ladies.

Conner Steele has nothing but respect for ladies. He absolutely adores them and takes more than a little bit of pride in his job—or rather, his former job.

After a run-in with a cop, former male escort Con, along with his brother Riley and best friend Shame, decided it might just be best to hang up their…hats and retire from the business of being paid to pleasure.

After all, they have a profitable business going with their new pub. No reason to ruin a good thing and Con is more than happy to keep pleasing the ladies—just…no longer as a job. Finding a date or company for the night has never been an issue for him, either. He’s been told more than once that he can charm a tiger out of its stripes. But lately a new hire at the bar is turning the tables on him—she is the one charming him, twisting him up into knots and getting him so worked up, he can barely see straight.

In his rather expert opinion, Shawntelle Callahan is nothing less than a queen.

And she’s a queen on a mission, too. Even as tangled up as he is over her, he can see that. First she tries to coax him out of retirement for one last engagement. When that doesn’t work, she sets out to drive him crazy. After finally admitting that she’s a writer who’s looking to do a story on male escorts, Con realizes it will be best to just stay away from Shawntelle. Sure, she says she’s just looking for some hands-on information but he knows there’s more to it than that. There are secrets in her eyes, barely hidden lies and doubt.

My Review:
This is a hard book for me to rate and review. On the one hand, I adored the premise and cannot wait for more books to come in this series. I love all the characters and their back stories. On the other hand, this book didn't *quite* do it for me, and the reasons for that were complicated.

I love both Bree and Riley individually as characters. They were both awesome even while their back stories and how they got to this point were heartbreaking. I cheered for both of them and wanted them to be happy and find their hea.

BUT, for me reading this book, their chemistry just wasn't there. I felt like Riley was in love and infatuated with the girl he lost, not the woman standing in front of him. It seemed like so much of their attraction was anchored in the past and their memories...not the here and now.

So, the romance wasn't quite on par for me in this book, but that didn't change the fact that I thoroughly enjoyed reading the book and seriously cannot wait for the next two books in the series. Con ended this story in a somewhat bad place and every time Shame's background was mentioned, my heart broke for him. The setup is there for some great and angst-filled stories and I cannot wait to read them.

So, a mixed review...but don't let that stop you from picking up this book. I know that chemistry between characters is one of those subjective things that varies from reader to reader. Everything else about this book worked for me, so in that regard, I definitely can recommend it...and then you can decide if you like Riley and Bree together or not.

I received a complimentary copy of this book in return for an honest review.

Just started reading this and can't seem to link it from my Kindle to Goodreads for comments. This says I'm reading it for the second time (new Goodreads feature for re-reads not exactly working perhaps?) and I am absolutely reading this for the first time. So far it's ok, a "darker" read that I've been wanting. First time reading this author, and considering the genre, cover, and title, there hasn't been much action since the
opening scene, and I'm on chapter 6. It's more of a drama, which is so far well laid out, without too much information-dumping. So far so good! Now to fix my Kindle's keyboard...

February 26/27: Trying to type an update, and apparently your space is limited under "reading progress", like a Tweet? So, the heroine, Bree, is sitting on a couch (in chapter 7), Riley standing in front of her. Suddenly he's got her caged against a recliner for a kiss. She. Never. Stood. Up! I re-read the passage, highlighting physical movements made by Riley and Bree...this really took me out of the story! Bugged me because HE's pacing around and such as they're talking, hands lift and so on, but she never rose from the couch! Then he's in front of her, caging her in his arms, against a recliner (must be a really tall-backed recliner!), which is bizarre too. Why not just be against a wall? Or have him crouch down to kiss her? Including the words about the recliner further confused character placement/positioning. So the whole scene was truly poorly written, and ARC or not, an author this well-known, and no editor or beta reader caught this inconsistency? A pet peeve of mine, among many, lol, is physically-impossible things like this.
4/1/17 Returned to this to pause a buddyread. I CANNOT STAND the so-called heroine! The b¡t¢h actually answered Riley's phone! Then tags along when he has to go. Who the Fu¢k does she think she is? I just can't with this, I HATE how angry this book makes me, mostly because of Bree.

While I found this book for the most part enjoyable I also found it lacking in character development and very contradictory. There were times while reading it I questioned whether I had really read what I'd read as a few sentences or several pages later a character would act like what they'd just learned was brand new information when I know they'd been told about it previously. I really hope this particular issue is fixed in the final version. With that said I'm really looking forward to reading Con's, Max's and Charli's stories.

description

This book really wasn't what I expected. With a title like F*ck Club, and a precis talking about a male prostitute reconnecting with the one who got away, I guess I expected, well....a lot of f*cking between said prostitute and his girl. But that's really not what happened.

description

During his freshman year of college, Riley's parents were killed in a car accident, and he had to drop out to support his two younger siblings. Unable to get ahead working as a waiter/bouncer/bartender, he starts working as a prostitute.

And somehow a dude in small-town Kentucky was able to charge $1000 a hook up.

description

Since he's raking it in, he eventually pays down all the debts his parents left, puts his sister through medical school, and buys a bar.

After a little intro with Riley on one of his jobs, the story starts with him getting a call from his high-school sweetheart. She's at the hospital because her current boyfriend beat her up and broke her son's arm. Apparently, ever since she broke up with Riley, she's been dating douchebag after douchebag. Riley goes to get her and sets her up in his place.

Then the main plot of the book starts, where we find out Riley's customer from the beginning of the book committed suicide, and a cop thinks he's involved.

Honestly, the whole mystery/suspense part of the book, with Riley's customers being targeted by someone, was interesting. However, the addition of his "romance" with Bree really pulled the book down. I use the term romance loosely because there really isn't much relationship building between the two at all. We know from Riley's inner thoughts that he thinks he's always been in love with her, and that's about all we ever get. There's no romantic/sexual tension between the two, we don't have much backstory to see how they were together in the past, and they rarely communicate once she moves in. The entire romance is just Riley saying that he's always loved her, and he wants to get back together with her. We never learn why he likes her so much, just that he does.

I think this book could have been so much better if the author hadn't tried to shove in the Riley/Bree thing and instead had Riley and the cop get together. I kept hoping Bree would move out and that would happen. There would have been so much more excitement and tension! Cop chasing down a prostitute her cousin hired before she died, thinking he was somehow involved, finding out he was actually a good guy, becoming interested in him but not knowing if he was interested too or putting his professional moves on? Man, that sounds exciting. Oh, well.

description

The writing was solid despite my disappointment with the plot. I wouldn't mind reading other books by the author, but I'm not sure I would stick with this series. This is really more just straight suspense than romance, and if I read romantic suspense, I need the relationship to be a lot more central to the plot.

Also, tigger warning - lots of talk about domestic violence and rape, but nothing happens on page.
Riley has sex with a client the same day he later sleeps with Bree for the first time.

"He’d let her go so many times. It was like holding onto water."

There was a lot to like about this book but there was also a lot I didn't. The best thing about this book was Riley. What a great guy. There was really nothing about him that wasn't practically perfect...well...except his profession. But even in that he was to be admired. Talk about a hooker with a heart of gold! I also liked Riley's family. His brother was adorable and his sister sweet and smart. I really, really liked their friend, Shame. Such an interesting and complex character. I'm really looking forward to his book. I know he has a lot of story to tell. I really want him to finally find the peace and love he deserves.

The part I disliked the most was Bree. Yes, the female lead. While I feel bad for her because of what has happened to her in the past, I just couldn't connect with her. Love obviously is blind because no way did she deserve anyone as wonderful as Riley. Her foolish choices and selfish pride destroyed their relationship and kept them apart for years. Instead of trusting the great guy who loved her she drifted from one looser to the next. While I believe Riley has never stopped loving Bree I never really felt she truly loved him in return. I also never felt they had any real chemistry between them. I think part of the problem is that the entire book is Riley's pov. We never got Bree's. Maybe if we had it would have made it easier to understand her and like her. Although the truth is, even that might not have been enough.

The other thing that really bothered me was that book is filled with continuity errors. They are everywhere and really interfered with the story. I can't believe a beta reader or editor didn't catch them as most are so obvious it's ridiculous.

I gave this three stars because as wonderful as Riley, Con, Charli and Shame are, the shortcomings of the book couldn't be overlooked and that leaves this as an average read. That being said, I still plan to read the other two books in the series. Hopefully they will be better.

Not at all what I expected - I really thought this would be more of an erotica. Don't get me wrong - we had some GREAT sex scenes, but it actually had a lot more depth than expected. I loved Riley, he was a complex character, battling his need to care for his family, protect the women he... serviced... and stay out of prison. Not to mention protecting and maybe reconnecting with his high school girlfriend, Bree. If you like second chance romances, this is a definite win for you. My major complaint was the end; the last 20% was kind of a whirlwind, where everything kind of came to a resolution super quickly and I would have liked perhaps less resolution for a more realistic paced conclusion. Moving on to the next one ASAP.

Hot quickie

Who knew the trouble that can follow being a male escort. Riley is doing the only thing he can to help his family. I love how he steps up and doesn't just treat the woman as pieces of meat. The fact that he cares enough to help when need makes me swoon just a little. When the love of his life Bree walks back into his life all bets are off. I love how he cares for her when she needs him most. A quick yet hot second chance romance with a few twists along the way. I can't wait for more.

I didn't like this story as much as I thought I would. With the blatant wording in the title, I did think this would be a bit more then it was. Then there were little things that made it weird (for lack of a better word at the moment) for me. One - why all the sudden is Kyle escalating? For as long as Riley has been conducting business, all the sudden? Two - when the girl you claim to love comes back into your life, put your business on hold for a month....don't keep on keeping on.

Not sure about reading the others....TBD.

I never finished reading this book. It became ridiculous. How can you be an escort that since the love of your lift cane back into your life hasn’t had sex??? Plus I thought the writing about Bri and her kid was just awkward. It wasn’t a terrible book but I gave up coz it just wasn’t great.

Shiloh Walker never fails to amaze me with her fantastic story lines. By the title you know your in for a hot read but there is oh so much more going on in this story. F*ck Club: Riley has an intense story line with romance, drama, some steaming hot scenes, and suspense.

Riley Steele has not had an easy life. He and his siblings lost their parents at an early age. Riley would do anything and I do mean anything to make sure that his siblings are safe and taken care of. How could you not completely fall for this guy that has all the makings of one of the good guys. He took on a profession that may not be completely legal but he has done everything to make sure that his clients and family are safe, protected, and certainly well taken care.

Brianna Sharpe is one of those characters that touched my heart from the beginning. She was Riley's first love. Since they broke up she has not had the best luck with men. Honestly she has horrible experiences. When things get REALLY bad she reaches out to Riley.

Riley has always loved Bree and will do anything to help keep her and her son safe. He doesn't hesitate to run to her side when she calls. He steps up and offers a place for them to stay and a chance to be safe and secure for a while.

Living together and spending more time together they quickly find their attraction is still incredibly strong. There is no doubt that these two still have deep feelings for each other and their passion together is sizzling hot. They have so many obstacles to get through if they are going to get a second chance at love.

I really liked both Riley and Bree. Bree's son has seen things no little one should have to see ever. Ms. Walker has done a great job with the story line. She captured my attention quickly and kept me engrossed through the whole book. I loved Riley's family. I can't wait to see what Shiloh Walker has in store for Con in the next book. I'm really excited for it's release. Of course I'm always excited for a new release by Shiloh Walker.

If you are a Shiloh Walker fan, like me, this is a MUST READ and must read NOW. If you enjoy an incredible story with some extremely hot scenes then I highly recommend this one.

I was given the opportunity to read this stupendous story and it is my great pleasure to share my thoughts with you.

“F*ck Club: Riley” by Shiloh Walker is an erotic contemporary romance that introduces Riley Steele, who found an unconventional way to support his siblings after their parents were killed. He’s never forgotten his love for his childhood sweetheart, Briana Sharp, even after they grew apart and she made unwise choices. Unfortunately, danger is swirling around them and they may never get a chance to find out if they can regain what they once had.

Filled with the author’s trademark tortured souls, this romantic suspense story is an entertaining exploration of the twists and turns life can take when evil intersects with it. I love the way both the heat and the danger gradually intensify, even as more is revealed about some of the secondary characters. I wasn’t crazy about all of the solutions because I think things went too quickly (although, granted some things were way overdue) and I wasn’t convinced about the punishments conferred, so I have to wonder whether things are being left dangling for future stories in the series. Despite this (and despite my dislike of the title of the series), this was a delicious introduction to a new series peopled by sexy and intriguing men and the women they love.

****4.5 ‘Selling Out for Love’****STARS

If you’re like me and you play a little ‘judge a book by its cover’ occasionally you’re definitely in for a surprise here.  Despite its provocative cover and title you’ll find much more than the erotic excess of a male prostitute going about his business.  A story of painful choices, heartbreaking sacrifices and harsh realities, I devoured this tale of a long broken couple grasping for a new feature and a second chance they neither thought they deserved nor could possibly have together.

“He’d let her go so many times.  It was like holding on to water.”

We meet Riley Steele (H) in the middle of an ‘appointment’ with a client.  He’s at a turning point in his life and looking to start a new business – one without women paying him for his ‘services’.  He’s sacrificed for his family all the while becoming numb to his life but he’s not regretful of his choices, he’s made his peace with them.  Family comes first and he’d do anything for them – including selling himself to the highest bidder.  When the one phone call he never expected throws him for a loop, he’s ready to claim the girl that stole his heart over a decade ago.

“Brianna Sharp, once upon a time, had been his world.”

Brianna/Bree Sharp (h) is battered, a bad mother and a weak woman.  Bree is broken by the choices she’s made – It’s easy to judge her.  She’s leaving an abusive lover that has hurt her and her son; he’s one of many that have treated her horribly.   She’s gone back to him before – this time something has to change.  She’s got to do better by her son and herself.  Despite her tragic past she’s got to get rid of the self-sabotage, ugliness and hate that have directed her life so far.  As she sits in a hospital bruised and aching there’s only one person she thinks to call – her first love – first everything – Riley Steele.

“I need you like I need my next breath.  I always have.  But you’re just as out of reach now as you’ve ever been for the past ten years.”

Gah, These two killed me.  I had reservations about a book focusing on a male prostitute and a battered woman.  However, I loved Riley and Bree.  Individually their characters are well fleshed out and while their backstories and the choices they felt they had to make are painful – and lead them to their present situations, I was hoping and rooting for their success in beating their demons and getting their HEA.  There’s a degree of realism here that makes you ache for these two and their past traumas.  The thing I find compelling, that makes me pick up a book by Ms. Walker, is the depth of emotion portrayed in her characters.  It draws me in.  Every.  Time.   I struggled a bit with the chemistry between Riley and Bree, but that is entirely personal in my opinion, I like a more focused connection between the H/h.  I would have liked more development in their relationship (the romance was slightly lacking) and I do miss the trademark eroticism we see in Ms. Walker’s earlier works.  That being said, I really enjoyed this book and the storylines setting up for the next books focusing on Riley’s siblings and his brother-from-another-mother.  I’m definitely looking forward to the next book in the series and won’t hesitate to grab it.

“All I ever wanted to do was love you.  Be with you.  Make a family with you.”

I was pleasantly surprised by this book. I guess I wasn’t expecting to like Riley as much as I did. I mean come on he is a male prostitute. But I really liked him and was thrilled to see him get a second chance at love. This is a well written story that will keep you engrossed till the very end and after.

A second chance at love shadowed by suspense…

A hero who’s a prostitute isn’t a normal read for me but a man doing what he had to do to save his siblings I can admire and Riley Steele was placed in dire situation for a young man in his first year of college, upon the death of his parents he’s left with a huge amount of family debt with two siblings to raise. His own aspirations lost their importance to saving what’s left of his family. He never sought the profession he’s in just took advantage of it when it literally landed in his lap, he’s worked hard to leave it behind him and after ten years is close to doing so. Relationships weren’t a part of the years especially since the girl he loved left him when he first went to college, he thought what they had was everything but she obviously didn’t. Yet when she calls needing a place to stay to hide from an abusive lover Riley can’t say no. With feelings that have never died is a new beginning possible for them? Can she accept what he’s had to do to survive?

Life has not been kind to Brianna (Bree) Sharpe and she’s made bad choices which have finally come to a head. When her son is put in jeopardy she knows it’s time to make some serious changes and she looks for help to the only man she ever trusted even though she left him. It took me a while to start liking this heroine, the reasons why she left Riley were not unveiled until close to the end, knowing sooner would have made her actions more understandable and her more relatable. With her son as the catalyst she gains the strength to fight for a better life for themselves but would she have done so without that stimulus definitely crossed this reader’s mind. We do not get Bree’s point of view in this story.

This is a second chance at love romance with an added suspenseful storyline, something this author excels at. Someone has been watching Riley for a very long time and is not happy with his changing circumstances, for every action Riley’s taken in life there has been a reaction he’s never known about, and those reactions are escalating and could cost him his future. This reader enjoyed the suspense subplot more than the romance which was too much based on the past than the present.

An advanced reading copy was obtained from the author.

3.5/5

I rec'd an ARC of this book and while I enjoyed it quite a bit, it does need a bit of editing. There was some content editing and typos that need to be addressed, but I'm sure those will be taken care of in the final draft.

I did like the story line, it was a bit unique and I think Ms. Walker has a winning series on her hands once she gets the bugs worked out. I look forward to reading the next in the series especially a book about Shame...who is so intriguing!

This is a book about hard choices, heartbreaking sacrifices and 2nd chance love of a lifetime.
Riley Steele is a male prostitute whose at a turning point in his life wondering where does he go next- does he continue on with what he is doing or can he move on and do something different that doesn’t involve his body. He’s sacrificed for his family , used his body all the while becoming numb yet he would do it again for his family. In Riley’s mind, Family comes first. When the one phone call he never expected comes in, Riley ready to go back for “his girl” that claimed his heart over a decade ago.

Brianna Sharp is a woman who has been beat down, battered . Her life is so different due to unwise choices she made. She starts out in the story as a victim and we get flashbacks of her story when she was with Riley before everything went bad and then how their life went off the rails. You see how Bree had choices and her choices led her down a painful and dark road which then leads her back to Riley. This story had a feel of realism , like you are reading someone’s true story. Her pain, her angst, her horror feels so real yet when she is back with Riley also has a feel of passion , of angst, of love that draws you in and wants me to continue finding out what happens to their love story.
There is more going on, more twists and turns for this romantic suspense book kept me hooked. There is heat and there is eroticism along with danger and passion. I cannot wait to see what the next book in story has for the next couple.

My Rating: 4.5 stars *****

F*ck Club: Riley

Awesome story about doing what you have to do for family, to survive, and get by, put food on the table and pay bills. May do things you wouldn't normally do, and others wouldn't approve of. Riley and his family have lost their parents at a young age, endured so much, many struggles. Now years later Riley gets a call from his high school girlfriend, and she is in trouble. Great story, family 1st, warms the heart❤️.

4 GREAT Star Kindle Unlimited Read:

Among some of my favorites. Outstanding literary work. The characters are well developed, interesting. The liked characters are likable and the hated are unlikable. The writing is captivating enough to keep you interested until the end and leave you wanting more. It has a fairly original or uniquely well-developed plot. The pretense and romance were well balanced and done with properly distributed amounts of hints, behaviors, and chemistry. Not so much predictable if at all. Overall, loved it, I recommend reading!!

I thought this story was unique it wasn't like something i'v read before this would be my first book by
Shiloh Walker and I know I'll be reading more . It would also be awesome to see more from this series and what the characters are going through . Riley risked his own happiness to provide for his family and I thought that was extremely brave and thoughtful even though the job he took was extremely dangerous and risky.I couldn't really connect with Brianna I'm not shore what is was she didn't seem like a strong female lead .
