Written several years after Murder in a Nunnery , but set only two years after the events of the first book More Murder in a Nunnery takes the reader back to the world of the fictional Harrington Convert A body neatly wrapped in brown paper is found by the gardener, Mr Turtle, on his garden rubbish heap. The police are again summoned to the Convent and we meet again the now Deputy Commissioner Pearson along with many of the characters so charmingly and empathetically described in the first book
Two stars because of the irritatingly frequent use of heavy accents/dialect, which I skimmed. It's also a bit dated by patronising attitudes, bearing in mind it was published in the 1950s.
The nuns of Harrington Convent School discover another dead body (the author tells us this occurs about two years after the events of his first book). This time, the corpse is a stranger, but the Reverend Mother discovers that one of the girls in her care is also endangered. The focus is also on a young policewoman, Olive, who feels torn between career and marriage, and thinks the answer may be in a vocation, which she clearly doesn't have.
