The Old Order Changeth – more than you ever suspected! For the first time ever, learn what really happened all those years ago when the founding Avengers turned their membership over to a set of new recruits. The recently thawed Captain America is joined by three reformed super villains – Hawkeye, Quicksilver and the Scarlet Witch – and a new group of Earth's Mightiest Heroes takes shape – in a story that has direct ramifications for the Avengers of today!
Mark Waid (born March 21, 1962 in Hueytown, Alabama) is an American comic book writer. He is best known for his eight-year run as writer of the DC Comics' title The Flash, as well as his scripting of the limited series Kingdom Come and Superman: Birthright, and his work on Marvel Comics' Captain America.
I could not pass this by. A modern version of a classic Avengers storyline. The first MAJOR change of guard in the Avengers. Gone is all of their power in the likes of Thor and Iron Man. In with the new smaller cast: Quicksilver, Scarlet Witch, and Hawkeye, along with Captain America. Brings me back in time to the mid sixties when the original version of this story came out.
really enjoying this!! it has the vibe of old comics, with points to counter the sexism of the time, which i find is done in a good way: its not there to bash the mentality of then, but to present old stories with the culture of today. also, i absolutely adore the art
Really cool concept and i have no doubt it's in good hands. But i think I'll wait to see if the linrary gets the collection or theres a sale on comixology. The vintage letters section at the end was really fun and added to the overall vintage feel. I wonder if George Bryant of San Gabriel California was ever sorry he gave away his complete set of FF and Spider-Man comics to the hospital...
Uno Steve Rogers stanco con tavole e compagni vecchia scuola. Letto nell'edizione italiana di Panini Comics contenuta in Avengers n.1. Ne ho scritto qualche riga sul mio blog.
I read it as part of my Marvel Unlimited subscription. I like it, but I didn't like it enough to buy the series. I will wait for it to be on Unlimited.
