I am Tinalynge, an aspiring author who is deeply inspired by eastern fantasy such as wuxia, xianxia, and xuanhuan. The first story I wrote was Blue Phoenix, a series I poured my very heart and soul into creating.
Since I started writing, I have finished Blue Phoenix at eight books, Overthrowing Fate at three books and began Condemning the Heavens. Although I have finished two series so far, I still consider myself a beginner in the world of writing. I am aware that my writing still needs to evolve and grow to become better, and as a result, I work very hard daily to improve my writing and produce stories that people can enjoy reading.
Thank you, everyone, who has read my books, I am sure that with your continued support I will be able to continue improving and create worlds filled with wonder and excitement.
Kā jau raksta sākumā minēts, tad Drums of War sižetam un tā tēliem pārējā uz nākamo Grave of the Unknown nav tikpat kā nekādas nozīmes. Ar nosacītu izņēmumu, kad trešās grāmatas beigās Hvī Ju sastop tēlu Cai Jie, kuram lemts pievienoties tā draugu grupai vēlākajos piedzīvojumos.
It keeps it interesting with few reader speed bumps.
Overall this third person on mission story is a good addition to the series. I feel as if it was better than the third book given how isolated the main character seem to be. Here we see in return in some form or fashion to interacting with many different people spreading the story out of it while keeping to the main plot of consistently pushing his abilities. The story is a bit weak when it comes down to a moral background of any sort. Right and wrong is a bit murky as the main character sometimes goes from honorable defender to ruthless killer. That is interesting in himself and does make the reader think of it. At the same time I do think that some of his actions or the actions of the characters within are not necessarily justified or correct. Still he is relatable to an extent and as the reader I care for him and those close to him.
I enjoyed this story and it kept pulling me through while at the same time it felt like a long run-on sentence of a story. Things tend to be drawn out or too easily gained in terms of abilities and powers. It seems as if every increase is some tremendous world-changing thing only for it to become blase. The author is good in terms of having a large story and keeping the readers interest I do feel that some of the little details the minutia of the story is where the author trips up it. Items can be gained and forgotten about within the same story. Abilities and useful knowledge only seems to be applied brieflyand seemingly forgotten only to be mentioned later as something that the character just wasn't bothering with basically.
I do think the main character and his story is very very interesting and despite the books having a Kindle unlimited feel I am glad I purchased them. There is some language of the story, romance to a small extent, humor and of course plenty of action. This story will work great for those who enjoy this genre but I do feel that those outside of the genre might find it difficult to keep their interest as it is a bit meandering and repetitive.
Repetitive nature of the story and the series itself easily happens when previous given information from a chapter before or earlier in the story is repeated several times throughout the story as if for the first time. It is almost as if the author forgot they wrote it already as they summarize something several times.
I have noticed that I like in some of the previous works where the characters were always sighing particularly the main character and not just a few times within a chapter but several times within every chapter to the point that it was a drinking game you would die for reaching a quarter of the book. Thankfully again this wasn't done as much.
it is always fun seeing your character grow and strength and power and try to apply in their lives. I do feel that the main character is a bit of a Mary Sue but that's okay because not every character can be complex and deep. His ability to gain friends and to leave those of much greater power than him is a bit worthy of an eye roll but at the same time part of the fun of the story.
One of the interesting aspects of the series is how the author is not afraid to show the characters ignorance or had the characters grow past a previous feeling or goal. In that way it does feel as if the story is a bit organic and real. Passions of youth does not necessarily translate to the passions the future.
My Rating System: 5- Perfect for my taste, could not physically stop reading/listening, wanted more afterword. 4- Almost perfect, could not stop reading/listening, probably wanted more afterword. 3- Enjoyed the book, could see others loving it, need to think if I want more. 2- Can see why others might like the book, but I could not, I do not want more. 1- What is this? What went wrong? Why did they do this? This doesn't make any sense! (No idea who it is for but definitely not for me).
[Audiobook Version]
This book was much better than the last. While there are still instances where I get annoyed at something or lose interest, it was nice to sit back and just listen to the story. The main issue I had was the build-up to saints being the powerhouses of mortals, only for them to be cannon fodder. I guess it could be more of the protagonist being overpowered, but I was expecting a little more from the other saints at least. Overall, the series is good and this was a great addition.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
Main character stated he won't be satisfied with being 'friend zoned' while clearly placing the snake woman there. And in a couple of paragraphs, then said "don't worry your pretty head".
Dude, if I'd said that I wouldn't be friend zoned, I'd have my ass kicked high enough to wear as a hat.
In the first book the main character swears that there is only one woman he loves and later realizes there is another. Hey, standard relationship angst. But not being able to confess is not 'friend zoned'.
Funny how "being friend zoned" maps to "you're creeping me out. I'm(women) saying we're friends so you don't kill me."
The language is often awkward in these titles, but 4 books in I've gotten used to it. A great deal of time in these books is spent describing the magnificence of Hui Yue, which can become tiresome and frustrating, but the raid on the grave of the unknown was a fantastic story. I always enjoy seeing how the author chooses to evolve the characters' abilities in these books and this entry didn't disappoint. If you've already made it through the first three books this one is absolutely worth the read.
Perhaps one of the weakest books in the series, a tomb has appeared and our hero, while seemingly weaker than everybody else, proves to be stronger than most and he's recognized as special.
This book also suffers from him being away from his friends most of the story, and the supporting cast is mostly no up to the same height.
It's not a bad book, and it follows the needs of the story in forming a faction, but it could have been better.
There is only one little reason why i do not give it a five star: the editing. It is full of mistakes (grammar, type, whatever you can imagine). Now that's it about the form. About the story: the BEST one 'til now from the Blue Phoenix books! Hui Yue reaches the capital of Taiyang country, where he buys a mansion. There is revenge he has to do for the sake of his friends, but before that he explore and go for treasure hunt which benefits him greatly, and indirectly through him his friend. Here i have had raised my eyebrows sometimes.. How could he kill Saints so easily with only his strength alone, no help from Lan Feng or the Wolf? C'mon, they are supposed to be better than that... But i let it pass and i enjoyed it. At the end he finally make the first step with his love life, successfully. Unfortunately Sha Yun is taken by the Frozen General and the gang knows nothing about her.. Good book, and if you can ignore the mistakes, buy it immediately.
Book starts with Hui Yue who returns to his friends in a new city with a new friend Cai Jie and their adventures for becoming stronger to avenge their friend’s loss. I have always adored Hui Yue’s character he is determined, meticulous & loyal. This book also takes us to a roller coaster ride of events. This book also shows how strong Hui Yue’s bond are with his friends and also improves his relationship with Wang Ju long. Overall this book is also a great read
I do not write reviews, but in the case of this series I will. This series has allowed me to see in the the writes world. This branch of the series is no step child's to the previous chapter of this series. I loved it and will be looking for more from this author.
