For an overview of agile methodologies, roles and techniques I found the book to be useful. It does however lack detail, is quite disjointed and I didn't find it an easy read.

Very high level overview of the Agile method. Good reference but don't expect to rebuild your organization runs project based on this book alone.

Recently I have taken on a major project for my company and I wanted to learn how to be more efficient at rolling it out, so I downloaded this book on Audible. After listening to it I have very mixed reviews.

The first 1/3 of the book the authors discuss many of the principles of agile and went into depth about scrum and Scrum Master rules. I thought that part of the book was written pretty well and probably warranted a solid 3 stars. The authors do a good job of outlining what Agile and Scrum are and what the expected results should be.

I am going to skip the middle 1/3, for now, and jump into the final 1/3 of the book. I thought this section was very well written (4 stars). The authors talk at a high-level about Lean and Theory of Constraints and how they can impact your project. My favorite part of the whole book, how the narrator used Agile techniques to create this audiobook, is contained within this section. The authors conclude the book by explaining how they used Agile techniques to narrate the book. Breaking down sections into small stories and setting targets with how many stories to complete in a given period. It clearly showed how to apply the knowledge in this book. I wish there were more stories like these.

Now for the part that really killed the book for me….the middle 1/3. This section was extremely difficult to listen to on an audiobook - it was a list of lists. There was very little depth in this section, but instead the narrator read lists of rules using a lot of acronyms. I feel there are some books that shouldn't be narrated. For me books that provide lists for you or require you to follow several steps should either come with a companion PDF to follow or should not be narrated. This section may have been critical to understanding Agile Project Management, but listening to minute after minute of Section X subsection Y sent me into “La-La Land” and really distracted from the content of the book.

Ok survey of a number of approaches

This was an ok survey of a number of agile and lean approaches. It could benefit from a little more editing.

Not bad at the price point for the kindle edition
