A case they can get their claws into, if only they had a clue. Lovable losers Rex and Eddie are struggling to run a detective agency in their dreary British hometown. When their delightful old school teacher - and first crush - Mrs Nerdlinger, asks them to find her missing cat, they're unable to say no to her feminine charm. The detective duo's efforts pit them against a nosey neighbour, a spinster claiming ownership of the same cat, and a menacing stalker. If things weren't tough enough, Mrs Nerdlinger's sudden refusal to cooperate signals she may be hiding a secret. This laugh out loud novella is the second story in the highly entertaining Rex & Eddie Mystery series. Feline Fatale is a fun and farcical thriller full of sharp dialogue, clever twists, and silly antics.

Rex and Eddie haven't got any smarter! That said, I think the author's getting a better handle on his characters, and it's paying off. Feline Fatale definitely plays up the slapstick side, but the story as a whole seemed better polished than Catchee Monkey, and the feline mistaken identity plot appealed to me.

The first episode of the Rex & Eddie Mysteries featured gangsters, corrupt police and murder, how can Rex and Eddie follow that successful job? By finding a missing cat. The detective agency is up and running and the hopeless duo may finally get a paying job, ok so their client is their former teacher and they’re trying to find a cat, but it’s still a job and there’s the chance of getting paid in actual money.
The pair continue where they left off, bumbling through the case, creating problems while inadvertently solving others and somehow in the end they come out on top, the classic story of the underdogs (or undercats), winning the day.

The fast paced story keeps the reader entertained on the edge of their seat while also causing spontaneous outbursts of laughter as Rex and Eddie, who seem to struggle with life in general, manage to successfully outwit whoever they’re up against and end the tale with the upperhand.

Rex and Eddie are back! Rex has been pretty vocal about his P.I. dreams involving a femme fatale, and he get's his wish with this one. Well, kind of. The pair's former schoolteacher is missing her cat, and though Eddie, at least, doesn't want to be that kind of detective, he has a hard time turning her down. The investigation is anything but straightforward, though, and soon involves late-night B&E, both chasing and being chased, and a couple of incidences of mistaken identity, both human and feline. A rollicking good time capped off with a sweet moment of reunion, though probably not what anyone expected!

Rex and Eddie are back in this follow up to Catche Monkey. There are still the same clueless detective duo in this. Their detective agency is up and running. Rex is expecting a femme fatale to walk right though the door, so that they can solve the case. Eddie as usual hopes they don't get any serious cases. Rex's prayers are answered kind of at least. Their old teacher shows up wanting our two heros to look for her missing cat. Not the big case they were hoping for after what transpired in the previous entry. There are a few twists, and the main characters, Rex and Eddie, seem to have grown. It was fun

The incredibly unlikely detective duo from Catchee Monkey return! Still broke, still clueless, and still hilarious, this was a fun light read including an beautifully inane car chase and a triple crossing kidnap victim.

I appreciate how well the author captures the slapstick humor in vividly fun descriptive writing, and am looking forward to book 3 and beyond.

A little disappointing

This book isn't as good as the first Rex & Eddie books. The story falls flat the comedy isn't quite so good, but I am going to read the next book in the series.

Professor Buttons, Nubbin, or Cleopatra or whatever. One cat with three different owners. And then there is Danny. I think Nan should make a full English breakfast to celebrate. I enjoy a full English breakfast and I enjoyed the story and recommend the book.
