Ótimo livro, com claras explicações e bons exercícios para aprender os verbos, os tempos verbais e como conjugá-los. Mas falta vocabulário, além de atividades de compreensão e produção escrita.

A very useful grammar book with simple and concise exercises. I enjoyed working on the exercises in this book, and I was able to complete it in a little over the month by doing an exercise or two a day. The exercises are simple and the directions are straight forward. I also liked that the explanations were simple. If you don't know any Portuguese or don't speak Spanish the book might be difficult to use, since all the directions and explanations are in Portuguese. Often with these types of workbooks, I will get frustrated by confusing directions or exercises, but this book did a good job of keeping things simple, and I was able to practice a lot of things. I ordered the second part last month and I have enjoyed that one also.

A really great book for self-study if you are already adapted to language self-study. Knowing the basics of a Romance language is helpful, as it just dives in, written entirely in Portuguese. This focuses on Portuguese from Portugal (as opposed to Brazilian Portuguese), and as I often vacation in Portugal, that is what I prefer. I use it every year before going to brush up.
