The Book of Bones by David Wood narrated by awesome Jeffrey Kafer is so clever, witty, exciting, suspenseful, full of intrigue and possibilities😁. I was glued to my tablet, dinner was going to be late! I didn't know what this book was about when I got it but wow, it is a winner! It has one of my top five narrators narrating it so double wow! This is book two in the series so I immediately bought book one! Awesomeness all around, story and narration.

The Book of Bones is the 2nd book in the Bones Bonebrake Adventures. Bones is headed to Las Vegas to meet up with friends when his car breaks down in New Mexico. The closest town is terribly small with little to do.... but that has never stopped Bones from getting himself in trouble.

He goes out for a run and ends up doing an impromptu climb. Nearly at the top, he is stopped by a cop. Even though Bones knows it is Federal land and not restricted he head back into town........until dark. What he finds gets him a heap of trouble.

Bones is aided by a college student who has know idea what she is getting into. In order to solve they mystery of what is hidden in the mountain and save their lives he has to get involved with not one but two old girlfriends.

Never a dull moment with Bones.

Book of Bones is a high-octane archaeological thriller that follows former Navy SEAL turned adventurer Uriah “Bones” Bonebrake as he stumbles into a mystery buried deep beneath the New Mexico desert. What begins as a simple detour in a quiet town quickly escalates into a race against time involving ancient legends, alien lore, and shadowy government forces. With cryptic artifacts, underground secrets, and a cast of colorful allies and enemies, David Wood crafts a story that’s equal parts pulse-pounding and mind-bending.

A fun read—I’ll leave it at that. You do have to suspend your disbelief at times, especially when the plot veers into speculative territory, but that’s part of the charm. The story is fast-paced and packed with action, and the blend of Native American mythology with sci-fi elements keeps things fresh and unpredictable. Wood’s trademark humor shines through, making the characters feel grounded even when the stakes get wild. It’s thrilling, mysterious, and surprisingly witty—a popcorn adventure that doesn’t take itself too seriously but still delivers a satisfying ride.

A good read (and listen), certainly longer than the first Bones story which while interesting just wasn't long enough to be satisfying. This book had just enough meat on it to be engaging. Through in some characters from the main story lines and you're cooking with gas. Well worth it.

F as it paced and exciting. Bones once again shows his ability to get in and out of trouble, always with a pretty girl in the picture.

Another fun installment to this world. David Wood's writing reminds me of the old Batman show or the Indiana Jones films- goes from one cliffhanger to another and includes humor.

The Book of Bones is an adventure conspiracy theory book written by David Wood and starring Uriah “Bones” Bonebrake from the Dane Maddock series and the Dane and Bones Origins series.

Bones is on his way to Las Vegas to meet up with friends. He’s driving from Florida. His truck breaks down in this very small town and he is destined to spend several days there waiting for it to be repaired. Bones, being who he is, finds a mystery in the middle of nowhere and runs afoul of some bad guys.

As Bones stumbles through a series of chase scenes and information gathering he acquires a small group of fellow truth seekers. Jessica is a college student, Amanda is an ex-girlfriend, Krueger is an acquaintance from a previous adventure, and Padilla is an old Native American rancher would knows the local legends. These legends provide the fodder for a couple of current conspiracy theories. Those theories are the Ant People and the Spider Woman of Native American folk tales.

This story is a lively romp through New Mexico following clues to the possible truth of the Ant People legend. The story moves along quite quickly. The Bones character is true to form and enjoyable to read.

If you like conspiracy theories, adventure, legends, and myths, you will enjoy this book. I give it 5 stars because I LOVE Bones.

In this book we join Bones while he searches for aliens and saves damsels in distress. It is a little bit weird that I like these books as much as I do, but I think they are a kind of guilty pleasure. Also, they are potato chips books, as in you always want one more. The characters of Maddock and Bones are very, very stereotypical ex navy seals, and somewhat one dimensional. Each book is based on a historical myth, and they are sometimes a little bit repetitive. But the action and adventure is great and very fast paced, and the books are enjoyable.

This is great read, a real adventure/conspiracy thriller featuring Bones from the Maddock and Bones stories.
Bones is travelling to meet friends and breaks down in New Mexico and there starts his adventure. After running into some bad guys Bones finds himself looking into old legends whilst being chased all over. Helped in his quest by friends old and new will they discover the truth or are they merely legends.
Bones at his best i really enjoyed this and looking forward to more.

I think this was one of my favorites so far. Bones' adventure brought in some old faces and some new friends. The story itself was fun and over way too soon- in a good way. There's always been a lot of speculation about otherworldly influences in out ancient cultures and this plays to those theories beautifully.
My only question is "What about Mari?".
