3ish Stars

I truly hate to 3 star this one, even though 3 stars from me usually isn't a bad rating, but Coming Full Circle left me feeling decidedly meh about a couple I was really looking forward to reading about.

Both characters were likeable enough, but the reconciliation and actual coupledom came way too late for me to connect with them as a duo. As always Jessica Prince has written a fun and entertaining story, but unfortunately I just didn't love this as much as her other books.

Another whiner who is the center of his own universe. It, of course, starts out with him in bed with another woman.

Hero left town years because he felt like a third wheel with his happily married and kind of crazy sister. I guess the fact that she dedicated her life to raising him was negated by her daring to fall in love. He leaves her as well as his "best friend", the heroine. She's a little younger and he's afraid she'll want him to abandon his dreams of the NFL even though that never crossed her mind. She's jailbait anyway so sayonara sister. He's also really, really mean about it. He doesn't come home and is a general trouser snake because that's so much better than e-x-p-l-a-i-n-i-n-g.

His leg hurt, in need of PT, his bossy sister demands he come home so he decides now is the time he and the h should be together. His time schedule...him, him, him. There's lots of drama, lots of flouncing around (mostly by the men) and tons of slut-shaming. Fun times.

Wow!!❤️
There's nothing I LOVE more than a typical small town romance but when you get that along with your other favourite tropes like a bit of sports background, second chance romance and unfiltered LOVE .... that's what I living on this planet for!!

Jessica Prince... I swear I'm gonna hug you real tight the day I get a chance to meet you❤️. I ADORE your writing style and storytelling. There's never been a chance when I was not thrilled after reading a JP novel.

Awesome characters, though in the beginning, Ethan was kinda clueless is the worst possible way🙄. But he made up for the mess he created by showing me the kind of love every women deserve!
Eliza, you've grown up into an amazing and fierce woman. And that's the kind of heroine I respect the most!

My emotions were all over the place while reading this. An extremely enjoyable ride!

See that's the kind of book a reader look for. A good and meaningful story need not to be long or exaggerated, it can be short and way less dramatic!

Jessica Prince weaves a heartbreaking tale of second chances so perfectly I was as angry as the fictional character Eliza. Coming Full Circle was a fast paced easy to pick up storyline where the author doesn't hold back any punches, gut clinching and yet unable to resist rooting for the underdog. I was thoroughly hooked.

It was like looking at a stranger. And thinking about it, I realized she was a stranger. The familiarity in those beautiful hazel eyes of hers was absent when I’d looked into them. I had a feeling that earning her trust back was going to take a hell of a lot more than a simple “I’m sorr’.
photo Ravage Scarred Souls 3 3.png

I get why Ethan left, don't agree with his tactics or reasoning but certainly don't fault him for it. Thought his return was alpha, almost bullying but yeah was in his corner from the beginning. How many times must a person say their sorry for the other to get it?

“Screw that! You’ve been dodging this conversation for six freaking years, Ethan! What other reasons did you have for not coming home?” “The reasons are my own!” I insisted. “Just leave it.” Getting in my face, my sister gave my chest a shove. “Tell me, damn it!” And with that, I snapped. “Because of you!”

Can't stand Eliza

I liked Ethan well enough, but Eliza was a bit annoying in this book. The part where her dad found out about her and Ethan and how she started to cry and whine that she couldn't handle that her dad and her guy couldn’t get along and she ran away. I liked the female main characters in Jessica Prince’s other books, but I just didn't like Eliza.

First of all, beautiful cover and very fitting title for this gorgeous love story.

Okay WOW!!! This is the sweetest story of best friends turned lovers romance. You want ANGSTY? Look no further, got it right here!

Eliza learned very early on that it’s hard to trust people and sometimes the person you love most leaves you behind. Ethan was the only best friend Eliza had. Even though he is five years her senior they were always attached at the hips. Elisa confided in him all her problems and feelings. Ethan is her rock – he takes care of her, sometimes playing her overprotective brother when it comes to other boys. Ethan has his own demons, having grown up with his big sister and her family that he feels he never fit into – not because of any lack of love – but Ethan wants to spread his wings and build a life of his own. On top of that Ethan’s feelings for Eliza are growing beyond platonic best friends. Ethan doesn’t quite know what to do, so when he was drafted by Denver to play professional football he skips town and never looks back. In the process he shatters Eliza’s heart beyond repair.

Six years later, an ACL injury puts Ethan out for the season and he is back in Pembrooke. He is forced to face all the people that adored him whom he left behind. Eliza has now grown up into a beautiful sexy young chef. She moved on with her life and along with that she built a steel wall around her heart. Ethan’s biggest regret was hurting his best friend Eliza, but getting even physically near her will not be an easy task. Oh man! This story really displayed Eliza’s suffering and heartache. Even though Ethan was the one who left everyone behind I can see his hurt too. I am a big fan of Jessica’s writing and this book is no different. It’s fast paced. Dialogue and narrative perfectly weave together throughout the book. You will be sucked into the story right away. There is no down time in their relationship. Ethan fights for the one he loves. He grovels hard and always stands up for Eliza even with her scary sheriff father. Eliza does not have the time or inclination to listen to his “bs” right away. She wants to forgive Ethan, but to trust him with her tender heart is another story. I love both main characters though. Ethan is all alpha, overly protective and I totally dig that because beneath everything he is caring and has a big heart. Eliza has a beautiful personality as well. The author did a great job with Eliza making him prove his love but not in an annoying way. I think it is difficult to make a character likable especially when it takes near until the end of the book for her to come around and forgive. I guarantee you Eliza’s actions are all justified given her painful past. She comes off sweet, caring independent and strong. The back and forth banters are very addictive. I laughed, smiled, swooned and sometimes cringed at the exchanges. I enjoyed the secondary characters as well, especially Eliza’s roommate and stepmom. They showed us that love comes in many shapes and forms and it definitely does not need to be blood related.

I am really hoping for Lilly and Quinn. She is a spitfire and would make an awesome heroine. This one is a MUST READ friends to lovers romance.

-----
I wasn't convinced with the love of the hero and I think if he hadn't gotten hurt and his sister hadn't forced him to go back, he wouldn't have come back home and would have continued with the lot of his women.
But he fought hard to demonstrate that loved her and walked away for the right reasons.
I like that she's not stopped living during the 6 years he was missing. She got up, shook the dust and continued pursuing her dreams.
I loved that she was not a virgin and he was very jealous. After all he had sex with everything that moved during his absence.

Highlights:

“Lord blessed the boy with looks, but made him dumb as a box of rocks,”
“If you hadn’t have gotten hurt… if Harlow hadn’t dragged your ass back home, would you still have wanted to make things right?”

“You’re worse than my mother! You don’t know what love is.”

“A goddamned football player who’s known just as well for the number of women he’s slept around with as he is for his number of rushing yards?”

Overall I liked this book. Going into it I was afraid that it would be the cliche Manwhore/Virgin story (especially after the first chapter) BUT I'm glad to say that it wasn't. Both characters were likable and I do feel that Ethan was remorseful of his past actions and he did work to get back in Eliza's good graces. I also loved how Eliza didn't just fall over herself when it came to Ethan - she put him in his place and didn't hide how much his actions had hurt her.
My only complaint is that I would have liked to see more of them as a couple - 95% of the book was them coming back together with the epilogue showing them 1 1/2 years out.

It was just over the halfway point in this book when I started to feel panicky. My belly was flipping all over the place as the chemistry between Ethan and Eliza sparked and flared like crazy. I was laughing and swooning, and having so much fun reading this book. So why on earth was I panicking?

I didn’t want it to end.

I felt like I could read this book forever and never get bored. My heart felt so light, the butterflies out of control, and I loved every single second I got to spend with Ethan and Eliza and the wonderfully lovable secondary characters that surrounded them.

There's honestly nothing to not love. It's nearly perfect in its pacing, the engaging writing style, and the completely relatable characters. I loved sexy, determined, earnest Ethan to the moon. But it was Eliza—who first melted my heart in Sweet Sunshine—who really stole the show for me here. She's so strong and spunky and so, so careful with her great big beautiful heart. I loved every single one of her relationships—with her dad and Chloe, her best friend Lilly, and—of course—with Ethan. Their road to happily ever after was not without its fair share of bumps, but it was completely lovely and well—I already said, I never wanted it to end.

I'm basically half in love with Jessica Prince at this point because every time I pick up one of her books I'm left smiling, happy, and completely satisfied. It's like she's honed in on all of my favorite things: flirty banter, butterflies in my belly, a hefty kick of heat, and just the right amount of angst to make my heart ache with longing. Coming Full Circle delivered on every one of those things. I completely, 100%, without reservation adored it and am already excitedly standing in line for the next one (*cough* Lilly. Right? RIGHT?). ~ Shelly, 5 stars

I fell in love with Ethan Prewitt when I was nine years old.

Meanwhile, I fell in love with Coming Full Circle when I read this, the opening line. I remained in love through to the perfect ending—and don’t expect that to change at all, even now I’m finished. Because this book was just THAT good.

I absolutely adored the town of Pembrooke (and the characters that live there) when I read Sweet Sunshine, and this book was high on my TBR. So high, in fact, I barely waited for it to finish downloading to my Kindle before I started reading it. And now I’ve barely waited to finish it before trying to pen this review. You’ll have to forgive me, in that case, if this review is a mess. A fangirl mess. A flailing, fangirl mess. Because this book. Ugh.

It lived up to all my expectations. It wasn’t rushed, and it didn’t take anything for granted. It brought Ethan and Eliza (back) together in a way that made my breath catch, my smile widen and my heart pound. Not only that, it made me laugh. And there’s not much in the book world I love more than a romance that’s as fun and funny as it is deep and feelsy.

“FYI, once you two finally hook up, I want to know all about it. I’ve always been curious what he was packing in those football pants.”

FYI, Lilly was a BIG part of that humor, and I am begging, begging Jessica Prince for another trip to Pembrooke—one that ends with Eliza’s sassy best friend getting her HEA. Not just because she’s funny and a good friend. No, it’s also because I am so not done with this sweet and special small town.

Plus, I kind of love the idea of seeing more of Eliza and Ethan together. Because whoa, they were perfect. Ethan was contrite, but not a pushover. Eliza was rightfully pissed, but still just a hurt, caring girl on the inside. Their every exchange, whether bitter or beautiful, struck something inside of me, and made it impossible for me to put this book down.

So, I didn’t. I read Coming Full Circle in a matter of hours—addicted and infatuated with it as I was. I don’t regret it, except for one (small) reason: I don’t have it to look forward to anymore. But you do. And you SO should.

Living without her for six years was like walking around with a missing limb. Now that I’d returned, I knew there was no way I could go back to that existence.

It's somewhat unusual to be best friends with someone of the opposite gender. Even more so when there's a six year age gap, but Ethan's big sister/guardian and Eliza's step-mother were the best of friends which naturally led to them being in each other's company again and again and that's what they became ... best friends, confidants, despite their differences, they became each other's safe place, that one place where they could truly be themselves.

Then Eliza turned 16 and everything changed. As the 22 year old Ethan realized that his feelings for her were changing into something that was inappropriate given their ages and did the one thing he could think of to avoid messing everything up. He ran away and cut all ties with her. If being drafted into the NFL and moving to Denver could ever be considered running away, then that's exactly what he did.

Six years later, after a season ending injury and a guilt trip that only a big sister could lay on him for not coming home once in all that time, Ethan comes back ...

It's kind of hard to categorize Jessica Prince's newest release, Coming Full Circle. Friends to lovers? kind of. Second chance romance? Well, not really. Enemies to lovers? There's certainly a bit of that there too.

What we do have is a strong independent heroine who has made her way after her young heart was betrayed and shattered yet again, and this time by the one person who truly understood how fragile her trust in others really was.

A story that entwines themes of young love and abandonment, atonement and forgiveness through a cast of characters some of whom readers might remember from Sweet Sunshine, the first book in the Pembrooke series, and Wildflower.

I loved the serious way that the narrative dealt with the sense of belonging, or more precisely the lack of it, an issue that is far too common and often underrated in our modern day world, and yet Jessica still found time for fun, awkwardness, angst and no small amount of heat.

Read straight through in one sitting, I heartily recommend it without a moments hesitation

Eliza Anderson has always held special feelings for her Ethan, her best friend who’s older than her by many years. From a young crush, it quickly became more as she grew to know him. She has always kept her social circle small and her few friends close, because she knows how it feels to be betrayed by a person who’s supposed to love you. So when he completely shatters her heart after saying hurtful words and essentially abandoning her, she’s not ready to let him into her life again anytime soon.

After sustaining an injury on the knee, Ethan Prewitt is out for the season. When unexpected circumstances forces him to go back to the small town he grew up in, he dreads coming face to face with the girl he wronged. The girl who had quickly become more than a friend for him. But when he finally sees her, a woman now, he realizes his mistake, and nothing will keep him from making amends.

This is the second book in The Pembrooke Series, which is a spin-off of Wildflower. I discovered this author earlier this year and fell in love with her writing. I loved the first book, so I was quite excited for this one. However, while I did enjoy it, it wasn’t my favorite book by Jessica Prince.

I’m not sure why, but I just wasn’t into the story as much as I wanted. I didn’t connect with the characters that much. It didn’t have that unique feeling of enjoyment I normally get from reading the author’s stories. I do think that it was just a me thing, and I would encourage you to read this if you’ve liked Sweet Sunshine. I will still continue on with this series, and I’m looking forward to Lilly’s book.

😐😐😐😒 so this started off great! Football nfl player leaves his small town to play football. He finds out he’s falling in love with his 16 year old best friend and hightails it out of there t play football and have something of his own since his sister is busy with married life and kids.

I liked the chase in the beginning but other than that, there wasn’t much going on in this book. A little, a skid mark really of ow drama and a little om drama that put me to sleep. I dunno. This doesn’t feel like the same author who write thr corrupt rock band series and girl talk 😒🤨 those were amazing. This was just ok. Sigh.

A tender and sweet second chance love story with a alpha male that makes us swoon. I love second chance stories because they're so real. I mean don't we all find ourselves in a point in our lives where we need a second chance? Coming Full Circle was just that. Jessica Prince is smooth with her words and makes this and easy loving read.

"She knew what it was like to feel unwanted.

At an early age Eliza Anderson learned a very hard lesson. Sometimes the people who are supposed to love you the most are the ones that cause you the most pain. A shoulder she could lean on. Until he ripped it all away.

He knew what it was like to feel like an outsider.

Ethan Prewitt grew up learning that you couldn’t always trust the people you loved the most to be there. That sense of security he craved had always alluded him, leaving him to feel like an interloper in his own home. This is my first Prince novel and I'm sure it will not be my last. Especially with the Pembrooke series. This is a standalone, but the ending had me ready for the next book! I loved how easy it was to connect to the characters in Coming Full Circle. It made you able to fit yourself into the story and that is always a great way to read. I adored this story and look forward to the rest of the series!

4.5 stars!

This is my first Jessica Prince novel and I have to say it gets a big thumbs up! I've been disappointed in books where the characters are in their late teens or early twenties and usually makes me want to bang my head against a brick wall. Repeatedly.

But I'm happy to say this didn't follow the annoying formula a lot of NA authors seem to stick to. Here, we actually have a heroine who MOVES THE FUCK ON!! Granted, the hero and heroine were only best friends and due to their age gap, were never in a relationship. But she didn't sit around pining for him like so many other stupid heroines. Yay!

While they may not have been in a romantic relationship, he still said some horribly cruel things to her that broke her heart. And when he came back after six years, a lame-arse apology didnt have them end up in bed. No. This heroine doesn't put up with the hero's bullshit excuses. We are past the halfway mark before she even thinks about letting her guard down a little around him. He hung around, apologized mutiple times and didn't give up. I loved it :)

Having said all that, there might be a few things that wont work for others (I dont seem to have the same triggers or issues that others have) but for the most part, it worked for me. The only bit that didn't sit well with me was . But other than that, it was a very welcome read and I'm hanging out for Quinn and Lilly's story - cant wait!!

Eliza and Ethan grew up being best friends despite their 6 year age difference. They were each other's confidants. Until one day boom it all came tumbling down. See Ethan was 22 and realized he what he felt for Eliza was more then just friendship, he was completely head over heels in love with Eliza. The fact that he was an adult and she still a kid made him leave not looking back not giving a real reason why he turned his back on the precious relationship they had.

Then Ethan was dragged back to town by his sister, who was tired of being ignored by he baby brother. Ethan see Eliza for the first time in six years and knows how wrong he was to let her go so decides he will stop at nothing to get her back.

"I hate you. But you have wine, so I'm willing to overlook your short comings for the time being."

For Eliza seeing him again she is determined to stay away from him, never wanting to let him back into her life to cause any more heart ache.

"Because the ones you loved the most were the ones with the most power to truly hurt you."

Two stubborn people create a slow burn that keeps you on the edge of your seat wanting to know What will they do next?

This was such an beautifully written second chance romance store it gave me chills, broke my heart and mended it all in one sitting. So grab your blanket and snuggle in for a sweet ride with Ethan and Eliza and see if they they finally find their happiness.

Big time jump in the series

There's a big time jump between this book and the previous one in this series. It could be read as a stand alone but makes better sense if you have the backstory from book one. Overall it's a decent read, but there are a couple of issues.

Spoiler alert:
I've never been a fan of the whole "I love her but I can't be with her so I'm going to hurt her badly and stay away for years" trope. Ethan gets a little bit of a bye because he was young and dumb, but that's no excuse for keeping it going as long as he did, living it up with other women but acting jealous when she has a life. And although he sort of explained himself to Eliza and his sister, he never really answers the question that Lilly asks--if his sister hadn't forced him to come home after his injury, would he have ever admitted his mistake and tried to make up for it?

When ever I finish a book by Jessica I always have a smile on my face. She has a way of making me laugh, cry and then laugh all over again.
Eliza Anderson grew up battling the feeling of being left behind. Her mother Layla AKA worse mother ever made her feel like she was worth nothing. But luckily Eliza's dad Derrick adored her. Plus Derrick married the lovely Chole, so at this point in her life Eliza was surrounded by love
Ethan Perwitt He's 6 years older and is one of the hottest guys in town. They're best friends, but then things change and poor Eliza get's her heart broken. But there is a reason and Eliza never knew. 6 years later Ethan comes back to Pembroke, what happens is nothing that Eliza saw coming......Jessica did again

4.5/5 Stars!!

I can't even!  This second chance story of friends to lovers is just about perfect!  Oh the sweet angst.  My heart hurt as I read this gem of a book.

Ethan and Eliza are just perfect.  Best friends with Ethan the overprotective older brother type at times.  They confided everything in each other and Eliza only trusted Ethan.  Then, one day he leaves and doesn't look back...despite his changing feelings for Eliza and not knowing her feelings for him.  Six years later he is back and oh...my...goodness.  I can't even begin to describe the beauty of this story.  You will just have to read it yourself.

Please trust me on this...this is a book you DO NOT want to miss.  It has everything that makes a perfect romance.  Hands down one of my favorites of 2016!

Finally Eliza and Ethan's story!!!

After reading Wildflower I had my fingers crossed hoping and praying for Ethan to get his story!!! And then after reading Chloe and Derricks story I was blown away that it was going to be little Eliza to steal his heart!!! I even set my alarm on my day off so I could get up early and devour their story! I was not disappointed! Their friendship grew to become an amazing love! My heart broke for them! I was so proud of what amazing and strong individuals they both grew up to be! I loved how Ethan fought for her love! Their love and bond that they shared was amazing! I loved it!!! PERFECT story!!!

Must Read

Why does she make me cry this way? Jessica delivers in spades with Eliza Anderson’s story. When you are constantly let down by the people who should be there you tend to shut down. But when it’s the person you trusted, your best friend and the love of your life you are left broken and alone.

Ethan knew he hurt Eliza but how do you repair the damage you’ve done to the one you swore to protect.

I can guarantee always that Jess delivers fabulous reads. Awesome characters that are relatable and stories that are realistic.

I have read a few books by this author and have truly enjoyed them. All of them from a different series of hers I am enjoying. Coming Full Circle by Jessica Prince was the first book I read outside this series and wow. Just wow. It shows her diversity as a writer.

Coming Full Circle is a story about second chances. Trust lost is not easily found again. Especially when one left intentionally. It is full angst, but also about forgiveness, love and moving on.

As children, Eliza and Ethan were close. They trusted in each other and were there for each other. Always. But as they grow older, things begin to change. Feelings begin to emerge. But at the same time, Ethan wants to build his own life. So when an opportunity comes his way, he takes it and walks away. In the process hurting Eliza very deeply.

Six years later he is back. And Eliza is protecting her heart. Hurts run deep. Ethan knew he made a mistake walking away, but how to win her heart back?

I loved seeing Eliza as an independent, strong woman that moved on with her life. Did Ethan hurt her, yes, he did. Did she lay down and give up because of it? No, she moved forward. But now that he is back, can she keep her heart safe?

This was definitely not insta-love or a quick reunion. This was a story of two people realizing mistakes were made, feelings were hurt, but of second chances as well.

I do want to note that though this is book two in a spin-off series, I did not feel lost once. The author does a great job giving us the background we need to read this story.

I really enjoyed this book. It was at times heartbreaking and at others heartwarming. It made me feel every word. And really, what more can you ask from any story?

I give Coming Full Circle by Jessica Prince 4-stars.

Happy reading!

I've read every book Jessica has written and she never disappoints. This might be my new favorite. I love that Ethan gets his story!

I love a good second chance romance and this book has it all.

Six years ago Ethan Prewitt left Pembrooke and Eliza his friend since childhood behind to play football. Ethan is older than Eliza so leaving and not coming back seemed like the right choice at the time. In his heart he was looking out for her.

Eliza was heartbroken and the last 6 years she's had her guard up where relationships are concerned. Ethan wasn't just a crush he was her best friend and it broke her heart when he left, but that's all about to change when an unexpected injury sends Ethan back home and into Eliza's life once again.

As Ethan returns home he can't shake those feelings he's always had for Eliza, but getting back into her heart won't be that easy. She's afraid of getting hurt again. Eliza won't just let him walk back into her life without answers and I love Ethan doesn't give up. He knows what he wants and his reason for leaving might surprise you.

I give CFC 5 Amazing stars! It had everything I love in a book and the characters. The chemistry between these two will for sure make you swoon!! And who doesn't love a second chance love story?! Go one click your copy now!! Jessica Prince knocked it out of the park with this book!!

4.2 stars

I'm not sure how I missed this book since I'm a huge fan of this author. This book reminded me of why. Strong leading and secondary characters, swoony leading men, and chemistry galore made this another hit. The ending seemed rushed or this would have ranked higher.

I'm giving this book 4 stars for a few reasons.

This book just isn't as good as the others I've read by her. While it is a good story, and I love Ethan and Eliza so much, I felt like a struggled to really get into the story. That's never happened with a Jessica Prince novel before.

I think the events that transpired were realistic enough and quite entertaining, but something was missing.

I know I had the advanced copy of this novel, but there were an exceptional amount of errors, including sentences that just didn't make sense. (Hoping these were caught and changed before publication.)

Around 70% the story finally gripped me, and I'm really excited for book 3, now! I want updates on Ethan and Eliza, as well as two people who were introduced in this book!
