An old flame of Suzanne’s from grade school and high school days returns to April Springs and soon after is found with a broken neck. The big question is - was it an accident or homicide? Emma’s dad Ray was supposedly the last person to see him alive but he has disappeared.

Read time 1 hour 47 minutes, mostly in the dentist’s waiting room.

These books never get boring and I will reread them again in the future. I love how Suzanne teams up with family and friends to solve the murder AND I have to say I enjoy each combo for different reasons. Love love LOVE this series.

Suzanne discovers a wrapped package tied to one of the bed legs in the victim's house. George comes in and asks if she's found anything. She says she has not. For the rest of the book, I waited for her to open this package.

We never hear of it again.

Toward the end of the story, Jake is called by a mysterious woman to meet for dinner so they can discuss clues or leads or whatnot.

We never, ever hear about this conversation again.

What the heck, Tim Myers? You can't keep writing about important clues and leave everything hanging! What was in that package? Why did Jake have dinner with the woman and what did she say?????

Tom was a bad egg. Some people change their lives, but Suzanne didn't believe it in this instance. That was part of the reason she thought Tom didn't just fall, but was murdered. Of the suspects on her list, Ray really wants to know if he did it. The newsman has a case of amnesia from a hit on the head and doesn't know what happened. During this whole mess, Emma may be finding a new love interest. I think it is wonderful!
Just don't understand why no baby talk in this one. I guess a baby in murder mystery series books may be too touchy, like the baby being in danger and all. I still think it is getting a bit boring with the marriage part. I hope Jake decides to be a PI soon!! :)
Enjoy!

Another great book in the Donut mysteries! Ray Blake goes missing and is later found with no memory of what happened in the past 16 hours. Then, former April Springs resident, Tom Thorndike, who had recently returned ends up dead at the bottom of a waterfall. Was it murder or an accident and is Ray connected? It's up to Suzanne and Grace to find out with a little help from George, Stephan, and Jake.

I love Hallmark murder mysteries and this reminds me so much of the Murder She Baked Series! I love those movies and reading this was like watching one of them! Suzanne and her husband Jake are a fun combo along with all of the other main characters! Pure fun to read!

Suzanne is back

I have enjoyed the books in this series. The Kindle addition of this title was messed up and the first few chapters seemed to have missing pages. Even though the book had an intriguing mystery, it was very scattered. Suzanne and Grace did little sleuthing. It appears this was a set up for Jake becoming a private eye. I hope this series isn't losing steam but the Donut Mysteries need more depth for me to continue to read them.

Another great Donut Mystery. Jake is back in town and ends up working on the same case as Suzanne (and Grace and George). Is this the start of a new career for Jake? We can only hope so; it would bring a new dynamic to these stories.
