They call him Big D because he is. Tall and broad, with muscles so thick and good that all I can think about is getting a grip on his biceps and squeezing. Then there’s the other reason. All the girls talk about it. I’m not sure how everyone knows he’s hung like a horse but they do. I try not to think about it because he’s a popular football player who everybody knows and I’m just the work-focused history major who likes to stay mostly invisible at school. But when my professor pulls me aside and asks if I’d be willing to tutor a failing student, suddenly it’s impossible to ignore. I’m going to be teaching Big D. If he doesn’t pass he’ll be off the team and they can’t win without him. We’re going to be together night after night, well, the ones I’m not working. I have two big secrets you see. Huge enough that I know for sure that I’m not right for Big D, even though I wish I was. In my fantasies I imagine finding out if he really does live up to his name, but when trouble heads in my direction again, Dominic Ramsey might be the only one that can keep me safe.
Big D is a standalone Sports Romance with a happy ever after. It also features HUGE - A Stepbrother Romance for your continued reading pleasure! Enjoy!

This girl was an idiot and I really couldn't get passed it. I figured her big "secret" was what it was but, did she just never go home to see her kid? I didn't understand, I know that her mom was taking care of her, but she never mentioned going to see her or going to visit her daughter, I have two kids and even in my shittiest days as a mother, I didn't live without them. Also.... she was so shameful and embarrassed of what she was doing at the club but the second the option arose again, she done it again!!! ..... nevermind all the back and forth she did with herself or how scared it made her... just gimme a few thousand dollars and I'll do whatever you want me to do... it was disgusting and I didn't feel sorry for her aat all.
I thought the dude could have been hot, I mean he was described half horse man with a dong like a tree trunk, because that's realistic; he's every bad boy stereotype.... it was all just so annoyingly predictable. And then the dude who was "stalking" the chick.... he just goes away when she tells him to, after he'd been stalking her, because.... stalkers quit when you ask them real nice.... LOL gimme a break...
I know I'm not usually this harsh, but this book was just ridiculous to me.
Typically Stephanie Brother but better than most of her stuff.
I found both MC's to be likable and could understand them. Each were dealing with their own messes but came together to help work through them. The end was really rushed though. Secrets are exposed and BAM...HEA but we don't get to see them really come together for the HEA. Overall it was an ok read.
The book was quite surprising. I had an idea how this story would go. It’s not a first story I read about a star college athlete (in this case a football player) and an industrious student who doesn’t date, and how two are thrown together because the athlete needs tutoring. But the story went deeper and not in the direction I expected.
Also, I guess my luck finding books which don’t make me cry has run over, because both Dominic’s and Hannah’s background story broke my heart. I’m not going to even hint what it was about because then I’ll spoil the reading experience for you. It’s better to read if you don’t have any clues whatsoever about what’s going to happen. So please read and discover for yourself.

Hmm - just got to the end of the story and I feel like I've only read half a book.
Girl meets boy Girl makes some dodgy choices Girl and boy get down and dirty Girl leaves, boy brings her back They all live happily ever after
Erm, where's the actual plot development? Nothing particularly happens and the story must only be set over a couple of days before jumping years into the future for the epilogue. There is no relationship development and very little interaction between the h & H at all.
Hannah is not your typical college girl- she takes herself and college very seriously. Because of this, one of her professors said that the college wants her to tutor the all-star football star, Dominic aka Big D which in return she will be given a scholarship for the next school year. When Hannah heard that, she accepts, for definitely needs help paying for her schooling. She has also taken on a side job which is out of town for extra money which she sends home. While working at her side job, she starts to feel unsafe there , as if she is being stalked which leads to when she is with Dominic, him walking her home. Dominic comes into Hannah’s life for a reason- he is the all star football player and is in danger of falling so Hannah enters his life to help him. Dominic has a learning disability and needs her help. Before he lets this girl near him, he starts to ask around only to find out no one knows anything about her. Thing is, they both have secrets that they don’t want people knowing. The time they spend together means they get closer and closer means hot and heavy and intimate. Both have secrets that could end up tearing apart a relationship. Do they take a chance and let one another in or… break apart.
My rating: 4.5 stars **** "I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book in exchange for an honest review***
By the time I got into the story, it was already the end of the book. Although a good read, I felt like it could've had/been more. More story, more character time- I don't know, just more. Overall, it was a fun short read.
Now just how does Dominic get the name “Big D”? Well there are many things that might speak of his nickname like his size in stature or as Hannah hears the other girls around her talking the man is packing! Hannah is not your typical college girl who likes to go out to party and date guys. She takes college very seriously and has written off the guy thing. Due to the fact that she is an excellent student one of her professors says that the college wants her to tutor the all-star football star, Dominic aka Big D which in return she will be given a scholarship for the next school year. Hannah needs all the help she can get paying for her schooling. She has also taken on a side job which is out of town for extra money which she sends home. Hannah runs into some trouble while working at her job which throws her in to feeling as if she is being stalked and in danger.
Both Hannah and Dominic are surprised at the other and the ability they have academically. You would think that a big football player like Big D wouldn’t be the smartest when it came to college courses but Hannah soon learns of his learning disability and is impressed as to how smart he actually is. Once Dominic knows how scared Hannah actually is he walks her home and looks after her trying to make her feel protected from whatever or whoever it is that has her so upset.
So what is the side job that Hannah has and how is it going to affect what’s going on between her and Dominic? Will the past that both of these two have been too much for the other to handle? This is a very good story that had you cheering for the good guys and realizing that good things can come to good people.
This book was provided as an ARC for an honest review.
This was not for me. It could have been so good. An athlete who needs a tutor has the heroine assigned to him. The hero wants to learn but has a learning disability. I loved that it was actually about a hero that wanted to learn and was not forced to actually get good grades. I liked the heroine in the beginning and I thought the story had a great start, but then it became ridiculous with the "secrets", and the stalker (I am not sure who the stalker ended up being), and the strip club drama.
Spoilers:
NO character development.
With the hero and his "I need to take this call", the reader is supposed to assume either that he has a girlfriend or a child. It is neither. Some information in this book were fillers. I am not sure why so many 4-5 star reviews.
Such a cute fast paced story. This book was well written for a short book. We have a football player and a tutor that have drama in their lives. Hannah is a college student with 2 jobs. Tutor during the day and waitress at a strip bar on the weekends. Big D is a football player that wants to be more than a jock. These 2 find each other to help deal with the drama. Sweet story.
Had this been longer I would of probably really enjoyed this, but sadly it wasn't and I didn't. I just didn't feel the connection between the characters and dare I say there wasn't enough drama for me. Things just got accepted too easily and quickly. Mr. Dark just went poof and I was pretty much just bored.
I realise it’s a short book, but there wasn’t a lot of detail to make the characters likeable. Big D was great, but his character wasn’t developed all that much, and I was left disappointed. With Hannah, I felt there could’ve been so much more to her story and possible issues, but they were worked out with a blasé explanation. The story was just ok for me.
After reading the blurb, it drew me right in and I couldn’t wait to get started. I was not disappointed. It was such a great read. I had trouble putting the book down. I loved the storyline and there was always something happening that kept me on the edge of my seat wanting to know how the rest of the story turns out. It had a good mix of humour and a rollercoaster of emotions. I loved the characters in this book. Hannah and Dominic both had little secrets which they didn’t let get in the way of what they were striving towards, it was a goal they wanted to reach. I loved the chemistry those two had. Right from the start you could tell Dominic was such a sweet and caring person no matter what people thought of him, even despite that, he finally does what he wants and proves everyone wrong. Hannah had such a strong personality, even though at the start she was always doing things for others. It was a great read and I just couldn’t wait to get to the parts where everything just fell into place and you know what secrets and past lives they had. They were great together!
I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book
Stephanie Brother gives us a sweet love story of Dominic and Hannah. She's his tutor and he's shrub with dislexeia . she's haves some secrets she wants to keep and he's determined to learn more about her. He's the star of the team with huge talent and even bigger assets. The story was good and the characters were strong, but it felt rushed in places and they fell for each other rather quick.
Big D by Stephanie Brother is a standalone sports romance that I listened to on audio narrated by Juliana Solo. Stephanie does an amazing job on her storylines. I absolutely loved Dominic and Hannah! Juliana did an amazing job on the narration. I would recommend this book to anyone who loves sports romance, romance, or a steamy read.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader’s Copy of this book. Really enjoyed Hannah & Dominic's story. This one meant a lot to me because it was deeper then the story. Pulled me in the more chapters I got into it. Such a great book!!!
This book should have a warning about the content. I stopped reading it. This is not a light read. This is a book about phycological abuse and codependent personalities. Most books like this will have a warning or a more accurate synopsis.
LOVED this sports romance big time- Dominic and Hannah are paired up when he needs a tutor. They each have some dark secrets in their family but they each make the other better. So good, sweet and sexy. I kind of loved it.
Ok so this is a difficult one for me. It’s a favourite storyline. Big D is a huge football star who is flunking out. In comes geek tutor Hannah. Great. I love these stories. I don’t even need them to be original. I just like them.
This story started out great. I loved Big D. I love the cover of the book. I loved that he was huge. I loved that he really wanted to learn and was good at it. I loved his learning disability. It was going great.
Then things pulled my 5 star rating down.
Firstly the connection happens a bit too quickly for me. I wanted more study sessions and some of that delicious tension. It felt like suddenly they were all over each other and in some deep, heavy relationship. I just didn’t quite feel it. Also, these history sessions seem to have absolutely no reference to history in them. I had hoped for something similar to Penny Reid’s Elements series where you are made so aware of the heroine’s love of chemistry. I expected some history banter conversations as the two acknowledged their shared love of the subject. Er no. I felt this was an opportunity lost.
Secondly, it all got a bit angsty and miserable for me. Hannah does two erotic scenes which she is definitely not into and is sad about. I don’t really want to read that. I skipped them. I’m ok with feigned non-consent and weirdo alien non-consent but this just killed it for me. I don’t need it in my life. It was just miserable. Then she feels awful and guilty, then 20 minutes later she’s hooking up with Big D. Wtf? What happened to having a hot shower and putting your daggy flannel pjs on and crying yourself to sleep whilst watching Friends on repeat? And that sore vagina? Just ignore it and keep on going! Really?!?
Thirdly, Hannah is a bit too stupid for me. I like strong heroines. Maybe that’s not realistic, but I don’t want gritty truths in my romance. I want an aspirational female character who exhibits some character development. I don’t want broken, fragile and desperate.
Hannah is full of guilt and recriminations. She couldn’t tell her mum the truth, she lives away from her daughter. She works in a strip bar but seems to hate everything about it. There is such a negative bent to this. I know stripping is not ideal, but come on guys this is the 21st century and we are reading an erotic romance. I want to celebrate women and how strong and sexy they are, not read a documentary on the harsh realities of the sex industry.
Hannah is a constant victim. She feels she has no choices, yet she does. We all do. She makes bad decisions repeatedly which is just annoying and in the end she solves her financial worries by relying on a guy. I just expected her to be a bit more independent.
And lastly, what really knocked a star off was Big D’s reaction to Hannah’s job. It’s so old fashioned! It just made me lose respect for him.
Overall, this book was very gripping and emotional. I thought it well-written and I like the author. I just wish the last 70% of the book had been like the start. But I can why some people would like this story. It’s just not me.

This book started with a girl who you can tell she likes him but she is holding something back. Something that wouldn't let herself even have fun while she is in school. But you don't find out about it right away. Instead, she ends up tutoring the guy she likes. She even feels like he has someone in his life because of how he was on the phone with someone else. I really like her friend Andie because she was able to tell a person who will keep all her secrets. I also like how she is able to tell her friend to go and have a good time. That her rule is stupid and she should just enjoy herself. But when she goes to work the next day she gets into something she should have not dabbled in. But she is doing it for her own reasons until she feels like he is stalking her. Then a few nights after that he shows up at her dorms but he leaves. But the night the guys win a big game they go to the strip club where Star works at and Big D is there and things just get a little worse for her. She didn't want anyone from school knowing she works there and then one of her coworkers tell her a guy was looking for her. Her boss asks to speak with her and she is offered more money. She does it of course and Big D follows her home. But when they get to her dorm they enjoy each other company. When he finds the money in her purse he leaves without knowing the whole story behind it. She cries over it but then there's a knock and she thinks it's him, but it is the guy who has been showing up and he scares her. Then Big D is trying to check up on her just to find out she has left school and doesn't play on coming back. But he shows up at her house where he finds out her secret that she has been trying to cover up. They have a really long and deep conversation and she ends up back in school. Later down the line they marry and have a wonderful and peaceful life together with each other.
I would give this book 3.5 stars. It was better than what I was expecting, and at times it was touching. Dominic, "Big D", has a secret and needs help with some classes. Hannah, also with her secrets, ends up being bribed to help him with his classes. College student by day, and exotic waitress by night, Hannah if fearful of anybody finding out about her past and her secret present. She agrees to tutor him and when she finds out his secret, she tries to encourage him by telling him the positives of his "problem". An incident at her night job spooks Hannah but she can't tell Dominic as to why she feels spooked. When Dominic discovers her secret job, she is afraid that he will think less of her. However, he doesn't and believes that fate brought them together for a reason. When he does find the money from her job, he thinks the worse and instead of asking her, he just leaves. Hannah is heartbroken and feels like that she doesn't belong anymore. When he finds out what she does to rectify the situation, he goes after her to make things right. I liked the ending of the story and am satisfied with the way it ended. Most books leave me unsatisfied with the ending but this one I did like
With a title like Big D, I didn't quite know what to expect, but was pleasantly surprised with a romantic, sports romance! Hannah is working her way through school and when offered the opportunity to tutor Dominic in history, she jumped at the chance. He is not only an incredible football player, but handsome and the man of her fantasies. Dominic is a complex man. Not a dumb jock, but a man who has goals, he just needs a little help. But what he gets from Hannah is so much more. These two have incredible chemistry, right from the start. But what Stephanie Brothers brings to the table is so much more than just steamy scenes and happily ever afters. She delves into their lives, gives us a good look at real issues of trying to get by, making the best decisions they can and even a little into learning disabilities. She makes the story flow with ease, finding the balance between life and love and let's us take the ride of finding that special love.
Juliana Solo brings it all to life with a great performance. The perfect voice for new adult romance, Solo has a voice that fits each character and emotes the feelings so we too carry the burdens and the love. I enjoyed her performance.
Hannah is a college student and is a brilliant one. She is asked by the university to tutor Dominic (otherwise known as Big D) so he can pass History and continue to play football. At which he is an amazing player. Hannah also works at the Kitty Kat Club to help pay for all her expenses, and to support her mother and Hannah's little girl. She is now having trouble at the club with one scary man who wants to pay her so he can watch her touching herself. Things get worse. She and Dom are getting closer until he finds a heap of notes in her purse and something else. So he leaves. After their beautiful night together. What a fabulous story this was. Such a beautiful man who was supposed to be a jock, but turns out to be amazing. Hannah has so much in her past that keeps bringing her down. Will Dom come back to her?
This book was kind of all over the place. It was a college sports romance between an intelligent student and a struggling athlete. But it had so much more going on. Tons of secrets. A stalker. A job the heroine was ashamed of. Past trauma for both main characters. It was just way too much crammed into one short book.
I did like the relationship that Hannah and Dominic established that eventually grew to something more. Their chemistry was awesome and their ability to open up to one another was sweet. I’m glad they got their HEA in the end, despite all of their issues.
I thought the writing was good. The bedroom scenes were hot with just the right amount of dirty talk and description. I liked both main characters and their personalities.
I'm so used to step brother romance that I was not expecting this book to be how it is. Nothing close to being a step brother, but still really good.
I was thinking that this book would be all smutty and full of things I'm used to reading these days. But from the first page it was like nothing else I have read this year. I had read one that started kind of the same way. A young woman needs to tutor a jock so he can stay on the team. I don't know who wrote that book, but I had to stop this one to make sure I wasn't reading something I already read. The tutor thing was different in this one and was also MUCH better. There were a few surprises in this one that kept me guessing. But the story was solid and wroth a read!
This story was good if you're looking for a light read. For me, it's the type of story that's good to pass the time if you're looking for something fast and steamy, with an almost insta-love type of romance. I liked both of the characters well enough but there really was no depth to their characters. This is my first book from this author, so I had no idea of her writing style. I personally like books that hit a little deeper and allows me to connect with the characters in some way. It wasn't a bad story, I just wanted more, I needed more. This story wrapped up nicely. I listened the audible version of the story and the narrator did a great job with the characters. If I needed a short story to pass the time, I would listen to this story again knowing what to expect from it.
I was really surprised by this book! I thought it'd be your typical Stephanie Brother book, and it did have all the aspects her stories usually have, but this one was so heartwarming and sweet! Yes, there were some darker undertones and heavy subjects, but Dominic! OMG! He brought all the feels! The big man with an even bigger heart who is a shining example of how a real man treats a woman! He is THE book boyfriend to beat all book boyfriends! I could reread this book again and again and never get tired of the romance between Dominic and Hannah! It's one for the ages!
