A lovely book about a little girl rabbit's adventures one day, with the universal experience of getting lost. This is a sweet book with a bit of suspense from a veteran team.

I love little sister rabbit’s solo adventure. I just wish it didn’t have the sibling resentment - but I suppose that could be framed as the whole point. :)

A Swedish author tells the story of a young bunny who decides to leave her burrow to have an adventure of her own. After spending the day playing games and having fun, Little Sister Rabbit realizes that she has ventured far from all that is familiar, and she doesn't know how to get back home. She peeks into several burrows, but sees only another family of rabbits, a badger, and a family of foxes. Readers will want to pay attention to the reading material lying on the floor in the foxes' den. Just when Little Sister Rabbit is about to give up and begins to cry, here comes Big Brother Rabbit who's been out searching for her. Maybe she needs him, after all. The last line in the book in which he doesn't fuss at her but simply cautions her gently to be careful in the future lets readers know that Little Sister Rabbit isn't scarred for life from her adventures and that she will venture forth once again, but maybe with a little bit more carefulness and attention to her surroundings. After all, things could have come to a very bad end. The illustrations in the book are quite visually attractive and show all the activities in which Little Sister Rabbit has engaged.

One of the best children’s books I’ve ever read, and it was even better now when I re-read it as an adult than I remembered it being as a child — and it was always one of my absolute favourites!

Eva Eriksson’s illustrations are beautiful and emotive.

Ulf Nilsson’s writing manages to capture the Child’s perspective perfectly and allows the reader to (revisit if you’re a grown up and, if you’re a child still) be in that magical world of here and now, hidden from time as you get enraptured with play and imagination.

The story is an engaging adventure, with lots of funny little details and observations along the way, and a little bit of fear but with a sweet, happy ending.
