In this finale to the Delacroix family saga a tale is woven reminiscent of the wildly popular prime-time drama, Dynasty with the pace of an action-packed, edge-of-your-seat episode of Scandal. Within the pages of VINDICTIVE, the reader will find more than their fill of secrets, lies, and surprises. With twists around every corner, this book is one that is hard to put down with characters that are even harder to forget.
USA TODAY Bestselling Author Amarie Avant focuses on writing romantic suspense, contemporary romance, dark romance with the occasional redeemable anti-hero.
Let me start with Raven and Liam daughter, that girl needed her behind spanked, she was selfish, spoiled , didn't respect anyone,my Mom would have whipped my ass. On to Raven and Liam, Raven didn't listen to anything Liam said, she began to work on my nerve, if she loved him like she said she should have followed his orders. Liam acted too weak for me, he allowed his daughter and Raven to get away with too much, plus he wasn't truthful from the beginning. Even though I enjoyed the storyline and would recommend this book I still felt this way about the characters even some I didn't mention. I am just saying I had a Love and Hate relationship with some of these characters.
I must say that I thoroughly enjoyed this series. All I can say about Vindictive is WOW!!! There was so much that went on in this book. After the last book I didn't think that there could possibly be more family secrets. The ones revealed in this book helped clear a lot of things up. This book didn't have a many descriptive sex scenes as the other books, but it sure had drama and murder. Liam and Raven were tested time and time again but their intense love for each other kept them together. I couldn't believe how absolutely delusional and insane Tyriq and Cassidy were. Elise is one evil woman. Although I would love for this series to continue all things must come to an end. This book was an excellent ending to the series. There were no cliffhangers and all questions were answered. Can't wait to read what Ms. Avant puts out next!!
The finale was so much better than the previous book, and I like Liam’s family even though they are crazy. All crazies aside, they look out for their own, Tyriq should have been dealt with a long time ago, he was so sexy but it was unfortunate that he was that type of person. I’m happy Royael came around to loving her brother. At least Pierre somewhat kept his nose clean in here and I’m happy that all the piece to the puzzle fit perfectly, there were no lose ends. Everyone got their HEA even thought they went through so many hardships and heart breaks. I’d definitely recommend this series!
I truly enjoyed reading this series.. At times I wanted to choke Raven to he so smart she sure made some dumb mistakes with Ty! Glad that physco died.. I loved the family dynamics.
Ok, I honestly had to make myself finish this book because it became so exhausting to finish. I've never seen a couple in a book series have so much unnecessary or unbelievable drama. I honestly think the author had so many ideas and wasn't sure which direction to go into with these characters. Which is a shame since the prequel was pretty strong. The more I got into the series the less I liked the characters added on to the drama it became exhausting. Which is a shame because I did enjoy the Fear series from this author. While I may have only given this series 3 stars there were things I enjoyed about the series. The bond between the three generations of the Shaw women, the mother daughter relationship between Raven and Royael (many women experience this with their daughters), the love and friendship between Liam and Raven and how to rebuild that trust when you have been separated for so long. There were many aspects of the book that were great and should have been the main focus. You don't need 5 or 6 different stalkers to make a good story.
Vindictive: Deceptive Desires Finale was just that A FINALE. Pierre Delacroix was a a major player inside and outside of the board room. Liam was trying to protect Raven from all of the families secrets and by golly were there secrets on top of secrets. In the end, everything worked out for the good of the couple.
Jealousy does something to people and that is shown in Cassidy's & Tyriq's characters. I wonder how Tyriq would have felt if he had of learned the truth about Sadie? Elise was a character all of her own. In her own twisted way she was on trying to protect Liam and his family. I felt bad for Lawrence once he learned the truth about his wife and brother. I loved Estella's character out of all of the family.
This was a excellent series that in the end left nothing to question.
This story had more twist and turns than a winding road, but it is so good. This was story written with a lot of chaos going on,but there is method to this madness. This is what love is and the writer captures every moment perfectly, that you get to experience all the emotions.I love that the ladies of this story finally come full circle with not only knowing they are loved but that they deserve to be loved. This is not only romance but suspense and mystery thrown in to give you the full monty.I would love to see a glimpse of this family later on when the children have gotten older.A story so worthy of your attention.
As happy endings go this one did a very good job of bring it all together! I actually didn't know that the series was originally about the Shaw women until nearly the end of this book, but I was feeling like why all the POV's, throughout the series. But al in all I enjoyed the entire series, it gave a little much but I enjoyed that because so many of the characters I liked had been developed. Especially Sadie, I was glad she got her HEA (for the most part)!
Said it in the last review and I'll say it in this one. Way too much unnecessary (unbelievable) drama. This book was only slightly better than the last. The whole series had such a great base and the characters were strong. But at some point when there were more pov's added to the story and too many psycho stalkers, the plot kinda fell apart. There was less and less of the companionable friendship Liam and Raven had as the series continued, just endless drama and filler moments of sex.
I really loved this series. The suspense and mystery was well written. I'm glad all the Shaw women got their HEA in the end. Boy, Liam's grandfather Pierre was a real rolling stone. He must not have believed in covering that solrier up. GEESH. I was shocked to read about Liam's extended family. No wonder Liam did not want to tell Raven about them.
I,ve enjoyed the whole series,my only issue I wish I read them back to back... Without waiting for the next one to come out. But you know what, now I have an excuse to read them all over again. Good job "Amarie", you are a true storyteller, ... It blown my mind the way you get so many emotions entangled and end up tying together... Waiting for more!!!
These two weathered the storm and came out of it stronger than ever. The Shaw women all got their HEA. Being apart of Liam's family and finally being introduced to Pierre's extended family it is safe to safe there will never be a dull moment. Loved the series.
I loved these books from beginning to end.The storyline was great. You laugh, cry, and other emotions in between. Liam and Raven were meant to be together for ever. I'm glad all turned out great for them. This is a must read series.
I totally agree with you on knowing when to leave well enough alone. I think the ending to this series was exactly right. Just the right amount of drama and intrigue. Please keep good reads coming
I enjoyed reading every last book in the series, I couldn't put them down once I got started , I don't rate often but I do believe in giving credit where it's due. I look forward to your next endeavor .
The series was so crazy to read. It just seem like everyone that Raven let into her life harmed her in some way. They put her through Hell. Liam seemed so passive about his family and who they really were. Especially when it came to his mother. I mean he was this big strong Giant. But in reality Liam was a wussy. I thought Liam could have stood up more for Raven. Grandpa Pierre was the biggest Whore who raised a bunch of killers. But had the nerve to look down at Raven.
The problem with Royael can be blamed on both Raven and Liam respectively. I understand that Noah had a hard birth and he could have died and all. Raven had to be very worried about her baby. Like any mother would. But at that the same time I think she may have forgotten about Royael a bit. Now Raven didn't mean too. But that sometimes happens when you have a very sick baby that you have spend all your time with to make sure they are okay. But Raven should have made time for Royael. She was a little girl with no understanding the situation with her Little brother.
All Royael saw and believe was that her mother didn't have time with her. Didn't show her the love that she was to having. That's why Royael wanted such big parties. In her little mind she thought that since Mommy has no time for me. I will have a big party that way all the attention and focus will just be on me. Royael was very wrong in the way she treated people.
Liam indulged is child too much. Liam also in a way ignored Royael and the way shewas acting. Not once did he ask or wanted to know what Royael's problem was. Then again Liam let a lot of stuff go. I mean it didn't brother me that Raven had her own father killed after everything that Roy put her through. Liam's family was a bunch of killers. You blink wrong at them and you end up dead. So I don't know why he had a problem with Raven putting out a hit.
All in all it was a great Brook. Better than any Soap Opera on today!!! LOL!!!
I have been mad since volume 3. I didn't not understand a lot of the progression of the storyline. I didn't rate 3 because I was thinking that it would get better. Raven repeatedly walking into situations with psychos that she knew were psycho. having so much compassion for some of the crazy ppl but not others, both her and Liam being so perceptive about some things and not others, and the persistent crazy seeming to go on for so long not really adding anything to the story was so frustrating. I still feel like some abrupt endings didn't feel explained enough (Tyriq for one...). Vol 1&2 were fine but 3&4 seemed too long unnecessarily, seemed to say a lot of the same with no real point and made the main characters look like idiots for missing so many obvious clues and not using any common or realistic wisdom. Didn't like that most of the "revelation" was left to the very end. All the various storylines switching constantly back and forth, hard to follow at times. And the mentions of Ravens Christianity when she did/lived nowhere remotely close to that was weird and almost offensive in some ways. I am glad I read some of your newer series because I would have judged you harshly and not returned to your books. This was very disappointing for me as a fan of yours. Glad you continued to improve your craft, because your other series are some of my favs (Good Mistress, Make Me Stay, etc)....still waiting on continuation of Black Queens Dark Knight!
What a massive world this was. I can’t believe it’s over. This story twisted and turn then twisted some more. There was such a giant universe created in these pages and so many side characters to fall in love with. Which I did. So many to häte, which I also did. It was bananas. Not sure if it’s telling of the kind of stories I love but I never really LOVED Liam. He was a bit of a pompous playboy who definitely sowed HIS wild oats instead of fighting for his love…for years! No, I actually loved Tiriq who would burn the world down for Raven, without hesitation. Yup, those dark possessive crazy men do it for me! 😂😮💨🤣 I would have liked to see his last scene in the book without it being glossed over. I loved Raven from day one. I’m glad she got to heal and grow from her own crazy. I felt for her and rout d for her to win! The only thing I disliked was she never got to experience anyone else, just Liam. A lot of authors do that. The H is a hoë and when they 3rd act break up, he goes right back to it but she never does. Not asking for her to sleep around but to get a little life experience would be nice! All in all I loved this series. I don’t love the book covers so unless I find alternatives, I won’t be buying the physical ones. This series was an amazing one by this new to me author and I’ve already start 3 of her others series realizing there are little touches from THIS world sprinkled in which is super cool!
I should have rated this awhile ago, last year. I have actually read this book I think a few times. So, that in itself tells you it's worth it. Raven did get on my nerves in this book, the running off and just other things kept open with Tyriq. I must admit, even with Liam's secrets, I love me some Liam. In this book, he was able to stand up more, although the L.A. scene was a bit much. Royale... too much for a little girl, too disrespectful, even with the poison she received, some stuff was just too much over the top. I LOVED all the drama, suspense, and actual alliance's behind one another backs with Liam's family... Too funny and interesting. I understand the ending of the series, but MANNNNN, some killing and plot to take over could be another book. But thank you Ms. Avant this was a good series 👍👍, you did your thing!
This book, as the others in this series, was clumsily written. The storyline seemed to ramble out of control, losing focus on what was important. There were so many grammatically incorrect phrases and misspelled words, it took me forever to get through this book. I am so confused on the ending, who’s who and what the extended family “does” that it feels incomplete, even with the epilogues. I have a terrible n more feedback for the author from the notes I took and recorded in the book but I haven’t figured out how to export them to share with her or the public at large. Once I figure it out I will definitely share them with the author. She’s real potential but she should get another editor. This one is failing her miserably.
This is the end of a crazy ride! Going through that trials and tribulations with Raven and Liam and all the drama they had to endure. I'm most glad that Raven was able to get through to Royael before their relationship was damaged beyond repair because that child was getting on my nerves! Don't get me started on Tyriq and Elise, a woman you will love to hate! I would definitely recommend this series!
This romance definitely lacks complete disclosure of past incidents. Two lovers with very different lifestyles but a love worth all of the headaches. Very complex family dynamics are revealed and boy what a true “gang” to have in your time of need. I was left wanting more but it ended in a good spot. A tangled web of deception and love. Held my attention.
I have to say, I was. Quite disappointed! This story became more blend add the time passed. Who ever heard of the ordinary vilian just going poof!,, nothing about his demise.. How does one gain closure with sight a poor defense of relationships, reference to detail. I almost wish I could go n back and unread this series!!
I have to give this book 4 stars just was not my favorite, I read this author's books before have some that I will reread but this is not one of them. I decide to wait tell i read all of them before I have it a rating ,but could only give 4 stars just not as good as some of the others.
