Cute informational read that gives a basic introduction to The Batman Movie. This book does not contain a real story, it just introduces the reader to the characters in the movie.
This was an okay read. For a Level 1 Reader, I thought it was kind of lengthy and the pages were pretty text heavy. The vocabulary is pretty simple, but the amount of words per pages could be a bit overwhelming for the kids "Learning to Read" whom this book is targeting.
Great action shots of the Lego characters. I liked the various page layouts.
There is also a quiz in the back to help test reading comprehension.
Overall, an okay read for fans of the Lego Batman Movie.
My 3 year old is currently obsessed with the Batman Lego movie. While he chose this book off the shelf at the library, sat quietly during the reading, and answered the quiz at the end; he just wasn't that into this book. It was more of an informational book and not a real story.
Read 1 time before returned to the library. *Library books usually kept 1 week.
Batman may want to work alone, but like it or not, friends are coming to help him save the city. This book was fun for my 5 year old who likes to read along with me. My son loves the movie, which is what inspired wanting to read the book. The words are still a little advanced for my young reader, but he loves the story. There is even a quiz in the back.
Miss 4 and I like to explore different books and authors at the library, sometimes around particular topics or themes. We try to get different ones out every week or so; it's fun for both of us to have the variety and to look at a mix of new & favourite authors.
This is the first book my princess and I "read" together, with her reading the words she recognized and sounding out the phonetics for the rest. We read a page a day. Although the content was very basic and not exactly dynamic, it grabbed her attention, she learned new words, and I picked up intentional patterns in the text to help a reader on her level, which I wasn't expecting.
