Rose Morgeaux is a healer, not a killer, so training to fight is the last thing she wants to do. And if going against everything she believes in isn’t bad enough, she has to do it with the eyes of the dark and handsome Callahan McCray on her back.
Cal’s seen the work of Warlocks firsthand when one killed his brother a year ago, so Rose’s hybrid heritage is all the reason he needs to stay away. Teaching her to throw a knife was not on his agenda, but neither was falling for her.
When Rose begins to pay a heavy price for her passions, Cal’s love must be enough to save her from herself and keep her from following in her grandfather’s dark footsteps.
This series is best enjoyed read in order.

Something "witchy" this way comes...
I just love reading about witches, warlocks, or just any kind of sorcery, really. There is something fantastic about a world of possibilities that magic can provide. This story took me by surprise a little with the warlocks being 'evil' when the witches were not. It was definitely a unique angle that I slurped down like witches brew!
I know I should have started this series from the beginning (this is book number three) but my enjoyment wasn't hindered, at all, by the absence of the first two books. The author did a great job of giving a little backstory, here and there, to keep me up to speed.
Rose has a gift for healing. What she doesn't do well is hand-to-hand combat or fighting of any kind, actually. She was made to save lives, not take them. Yet, her safety is at risk because warlocks have the ability to drain her of her magic and soul. And so Rose finds herself training to protect other witches and herself. It's just so hard to focus when her trainer is such a delicious distraction.
Callahan would much rather be hunting warlocks than failing to teach a witch how to defend herself. He can also think of a few naughty things he'd like to do with the woman who he absolutely should not be thinking this way about. Not only is a relationship with a woman a bad idea because of his skeletons, but one with Rose is worse. She is half-warlock, someone he can't fathom becoming attached to.
Unfortunately for the both of them, the Fates have other plans. The couple will need to rely on each other in order to stop witch-slaying warlocks and solve the multiple mysteries surrounding them. Sparks will fly and heads will roll as Rose and Cal fight to save themselves, and each other.
This book hooked me from the first chapter. The chemistry between Callahan and Rose was quick to simmer and just got hotter from there. I liked that the passion between them happened early but the romance was slow to brew. I can appreciate a lust-first sort of romance, versus an insta-love one.
The only reason I took away a half-sun is because the couple kept too many secrets from each other, even after they began to develop a partnership. For such a good story, I hated seeing it bogged down by forced conflict stemming from unnecessary secrecy. I never did a full eye-roll but came close. Thankfully, there was plenty of humor and romance to keep me engaged. I couldn't put it down.
In closing... A supernatural romance that put me under its spell! I am definitely interested in reading prior and subsequent books of this series. 4.5 suns!
The Morgeaux sisters have been struggling to deal with the fact that not only are they witches but also part Warlock as well. As if that wasn't enough, they also are being forced to train to learn to fight with the Paladins, a sect of humans whom made a pact to protect Witches. For Rose that task is even harder when her calling is healing, not harming. But as the next in line to protect the spells hidden within the painting learning how to fight isn't an option. The question is, will she be able to protect it from her mother who is determined to save her own father that is also trapped within the painting.
Rose is paired up with a very reluctant trainer, Callahan, who has his own demons he's battling, the one's within. Feeling as though being forced to train the hybrid's is a torture all its own with the deep seeded hatred he holds for Warlocks, he's slowly coming to realize that some torture may indeed be sweet. Fighting an attraction that may have started off from sheer lust swiftly becomes a losing battle for both of them.
Readers will fall in love with the Morgeaux sisters all over again in Forever Charmed, rooting for them to find love and happiness among the chaos that has become their life. Watching them not only grow as witches and women, but learning to live with the other part of themselves, their Warlock side. And just as with Brye in His Wicked Desire, we've seen that side is mjuch closer to the surface than they ever knew, the same may be said for Rose, maybe even more-so.
Chartier is a true storyteller with the rare ability to pull readers in and allow them to truly visualize the story as if it were taking place right before their very eyes. For readers looking for a romance that's by far more than just that; one with magic, excitement, laughter, and unpredictability, this is the perfect read. While Forever Charmed may be read and enjoyed as a standalone I highly recommend reading books one and two first, otherwise you'd be doing yourself a disservice.
This is book 3 in the Vieux Carre Witch Sister Series. The Morgeaux sisters have been struggling with being witches and also having a warlock side. And then on top of that, they are having to deal with and train with the Paladins. For Morgeaux sister Rose, it is very hard for her because she is a healer and she isn’t one to cause pain but fix pain. But as the next in line to protect the spells hidden within the painting learning how to fight isn't an option. Only thing is, will she be able to protect it from her mom who is determined to save her own dad that is also trapped in the painting. Rose ends paired up with Callahan, who didn’t want to be paired with her. He is her trainer and he has his own personal demons that he is fighting and fighting hard. Part of his demons that he fights is his deep hatred for Warlocks then he realizes that he is coming to have feelings for Rose and she is part warlock. There is an attraction that is coming on strong and the sexual tension that is rising high. Its really good watching these two characters fight it out over their attraction and try to resist themselves yet they cant. Will they be able to come together and fight the bad guys or will Rose lose her way and will their denials lead to her downfall? This is one romance that keeps you guessing until almost the end and I love that in a series. The paranormal read had such heat and the angst was so good. The MC will keep your interest from start to finish .The good vs evil plot is one that I loved –Rose and Cal are characters who make you invested in their love story . #ForeverCharmed is a great read.
My rating: 4.5 stars **** "I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book in exchange for an honest review***
4 witchy sisters falling In love and protecting the magical and non magical world from the danger of evil warlocks what's not to like. When I first began the Vieux Carré series I hadn't read any Dawn Chartier books previously so I wasn't sure what to expect from the authors writing. With books 1&2 there were a few niggles as I read, however by book 3 I had accustomed to the authors writing style and whilst I initially found books 1&2 Engaging and enjoyable by book 3 I was hooked. I can't wait to read the next book in the series, I love these sisters.
Initially I wondered how Rose's romantic tale would begin, she's the most socially conscious of the four supporting and volunteering at charities and seemingly wearing her heart on her sleeve. She cared about others almost to the detriment of herself, smoothing over the feathers her sisters and their natures ruffled. I wondered what sort of heroes would be written for her, would she fall for an existing character of have a whole new one thrust upon her? Gruff and Abrasive Callahan is Rose's opposite in all ways except for one his love for family. Vengeance and saving the world from the monster that killed his brother is the only thing keeping him going, that is until the nicest witch in town moves in next door. But with their natures completely opposite Callahan and Rose need to learn to work together to help defeat the Warlocks coming for them and with their close proximity their relationship changes from loathe to lust to love s they battle personal demons along the way. This book is my favourite of the series so far 4.5 stars.
"Forever Charmed" is engagingly written - Ms. Chartier brings to life the idea that there could be witches and warlocks living amongst mortals, as well as Paladins, who hunt and kill the evil warlocks.
I was glad to enter into this series again. The refreshing thing about this one is that each character featured in a novel is part witch, part warlock which picked at my intrigue level on how that would be for each one. When one is a healer it is not in the nature to be a fighter but Rose will not have a choice. At least she gets a scrumptious one to teach her-Callahan. Not that he wants to but those heroes that are worth anything do what they need to. They both will be in denial with us the readers getting the info on their downfall to each other. This author will give you action and heat in this one as we see how another sister gets more than she expects. It had been a minute since reading this author but I quickly remembered she can take me away, feed my craving for fantasy and romance but with full bodied drama with it. You will walk the fine line with her but have your best shoes on that aides you or you too will fall but if he is like Callahan that does the catching, wowzer.
I really enjoyed this magical paranormal romance. Fun, flirty, filled with sweet romance and a great plot, this book was hard to put down. I am very interested in this author's other books and would be thrilled to check them out in the future. I loved the characters in this romance and how well the story pulled me in and had me completely enchanted. For a "new to me" author, this book was very impressive. A DEFINITE MUST READ!
This was my first read of the Sisters series. I have to say, it kept my attention and though I had no prior knowledge of what they were talking about it really wasn't difficult to follow. I enjoyed seeing how Cal and Rose figured out their relationship. There could have been more explanation and exploration of her turning and it felt a bit rushed at the end, but I enjoyed it. * I voluntarily chose to review a copy of this book
