Covers all the essentials of growing into and learning to be an earnest musician. Josh started out with an interest in music and instruments, persevered through the hard work of first learning to play, recognized the value and confidence gained from practicing and playing with a group, and learned the importance of maintaining the right attitude in enjoying and sharing music.

I think it is also important to note that he comes from a family with other musically inclined members. Josh's brother is studying at The New England Conservatory of Music to be a professional musician, and his parents seem to have an interest in musical performances of many varieties, although it is not mentioned whether they play any instruments themselves.

Other factors that are a part of Josh's study include lessons on reading music, playing techniques, instrument maintenance, and improvisation and expression. And of course, there is practice, practice, and more practice.

A nice introduction for any child that might have an interest in learning to play an instrument. Provides an honest and complete look at all the behind the scenes work that goes on before any "performance," whether casual or formal.
