“It’s easy to condition the mind, Jack. From an early age we are instructed on what to do, say and how to think about the world around us by our parents.
We are then conditioned by our teachers in school in preparation to listen to those who we will eventually work for. It doesn’t take much to form false beliefs about oneself, others and the world around. We are a product of our upbringing, our society and the world at large. All it takes is a small amount of pressure from outside to press up against those beliefs that have been formed and we either fight back or flee. Very few open their minds to allow new thoughts, new ways of living or alternatives to what they believe.”
Jack Winchester will never let you blink your eyes for a second. Even the micro second taken for turning the page seems like a long time coz you have to take your eyes off the story. Thank you Jon Mills for the novel like this and character like Jack Winchester!!
I read this series in-between new releases and wasn't a fan of this one. Jack is again hired "off the books" to "help" find a missing 24 year old Danielle that is in some sort of cult and last heard from in Peru.
Although being hunted by FBI Agent Baker, he travels there on his own passport and she's hot on his trail. Her only way of getting info is threatening people with incarceration etc and it's just how you would expect the FBI to behave.
He heads deep into the Amazon with a guide to the cult which turns out to be violent in the extreme. Once again, Jack saves Agent Baker (for the second time) and Danielle against huge odds but ends up arrested by her.
Not a fan of cult storylines so only a 2.5 for me.
You won't be able to put this book down you have to find out does Jack find Danielle does Isabel catch Jack and what do they go through to get into the Amazon you won't be disappointed with this whole series. Jack Winchester is a man who has a conscience and doesn't like seeing women and children hurt and that will make you fall in love with him
I love the main character Jack, no question. I am however having trouble with buying into the story at some points. Also, Jon, you really Do Need a new “proofreader”. There are many errors in your books. Not that these errors kept me from continuing on but there are enough made that the number can become disruptive to the reading flow. I am moving on to the next one anyway.
A winning episode of the Jack Winchester Thrillers. We get to Jack's heart and conscious. We also see Agent Baker question her motives for going after Jack. After all she is a woman possessed. No spoilers. Just read this book. You won't be disappointed. I certainly wasn't.
Best series I have read in a long time... I tried to convince myself to not buy anymore after #3 and i am just starting #7 now... I have a crush on Jack Winchester and hope he and the FBI agent end up together in the end
Jack Winchester is a likable bad/good guy. I have enjoyed getting to know this character thru the first 5 books and will continue to read the rest of the series.
There is nothing more I can add to my previous reviews. The series is good the characterisation is good and the plots are good. This an entertaining series of adventures and I recommend them to all.
I truly enjoyed reading this series of books both for the characters and plot development. It is fast paced and very descriptive. He has the two abi!ity put you in the action whether in Amazon jungle or the jungle of L.A. You will not be disappointed.
kept my interested still. some of the ways things played out was completely unrealistic and took away from the story itself for me. but still a good read
This is my 5th in the series. All have been fast reads. The body count is sometimes high but overall it's not too unrealistic and enjoyable. Look forward to the next.
His books keep me up until 3:00AM in the morning. Jack Winchester is the guy all men admire and would like to be. Superman, Dirty Harry and Rocky rolled into one guy.
I really like this writer and his characterizations. I’m reading the books on order and enjoying them very much. I highly recommend this series for the love of the story!
Jon Mills writes a good story. Don’t miss these Jack Winchester books. Plenty of twists and turns, plot changes and action. I love these characters. Highly recommend
Okay, book 5 is my favorite so far. I went from wishing Agent Baker would die to seeing her as Jack’s heroine. This had such a great ending.
The story itself was really good. That Eric Castillo was one crazy dude. Just think of him as being as insane as Jim Jones (if you remember that psycho.) AND again, Jack went to save someone and ended up killing some 50 bad guys, in the jungles of Peru. AND then, Agent Baker showed up, chasing him again, and almost got herself killed AGAIN. I wish something would have be done for Mia, though.
There was no romance and the F-bomb was used 13 times.
As to the narration: As always Adam Gold was wonderful.
