Pokémon is one of the most popular and successful entertainment franchises in the world, encompassing video games, the Pokémon Trading Card Game (TCG), mobile games and apps, animation and movies, Play! Pokémon competitive events, and licensed products. It was first established in Japan in 1996 with the launch of the Pokémon Red and Pokémon Green video games for the Game Boy™ system. The video games were released internationally in 1998 as Pokémon Red and Pokémon Blue. More than 20 years later, Pokémon continues to be a global entertainment mainstay and pop culture icon.
good book i learned a lot about pokemon like this Pokémon (an abbreviation for Pocket Monsters in Japan) is a Japanese media franchise managed by The Pokémon Company, founded by Nintendo, Game Freak, and Creatures. The franchise was created by Satoshi Tajiri in 1996, and is centered around fictional creatures called "Pokémon". In Pokémon, Pokémon Trainers are people who catch, train, care for, and battle with Pokémon. The English slogan for the franchise is "Gotta Catch ‘Em All!". There are currently 1008 Pokémon species. The franchise began as Pocket Monsters: Red and Green (later released outside of Japan as Pokémon Red and Blue), a pair of video games for the original Game Boy handheld system that were developed by Game Freak and published by Nintendo in February 1996. Pokémon soon became a media mix franchise adapted into various different media. Pokémon is one of the highest-grossing media franchise of all time. The Pokémon video game series is the third best-selling video game franchise of all time with more than 440 million copies sold and one billion mobile downloads. The Pokémon video game series spawned an anime television series that has become the most successful video game adaptation of all time with over 20 seasons and 1,000 episodes in 192 countries. The Pokémon Trading Card Game is the highest-selling trading card game of all time with over 43.2 billion cards sold. In addition, the Pokémon franchise includes the world's top-selling toy brand, an anime film series, a live-action film (Detective Pikachu), books, manga comics, music, merchandise, and a temporary theme park. The franchise is also represented in other Nintendo media, such as the Super Smash Bros. series, where various Pokémon characters are playable.

The children in my Year 2 class are obsessed with this book. I was pleasantly surprised to discover that it contained some pretty good vocabulary choices! Following the children's interests I used this during a vocabulary session - lots of adjectives that they could steal and use in their own writing.
Caleb (age 8) "Kanto, Jhoto, Hoenn, Sinnoh, Unova, Kalos... and, yea, they still forgot Galar, AND Galar DLC. Also, Alola. They fixed that in the Pokemon Super Deluxe Essential Handbook (PSDEH) but did not show all the moves; however, I felt partly misdirected while playing pokemon Sword & Shield and their remakes. A better book is the PSDEH. This book lacks a bit."
A fun and comprehensive guide to the various species found in the first six regions of Pokemon, containing colour illustrations and a Pokedex entry. Alphabetically organised makes it difficult to follow evolution chains, however, as the various stages can be quite well separated and in reverse order. Would prefer if it were organised by Pokedex number. A good resource for Pokemon fans, including fanfiction writers or any artist dedicated enough to attempt to draw-em-all. (Don't tempt me...).
Durability of the book has been noted in the comments below, indicating that it may not be too resilient to the amount of thumbing and handling that it is likely to be subjected too.
This is a beautiful book with lots of interesting basic information about the first six generations of Pokemon. If you like Pokemon it's a useful starting place with types, evolutions, and moves. Then there are the details that only matter if you enjoy imagining your own Pokemon journey such as heights, weights and a brief description of habitat, temperament and other miscellaneous information.
There are no mistakes (that I could see) so I'd say this is a first rate handbook for Pokemon lovers.
All the Pokemon to Pokemon:X&Y!When I first got this book,I had the book before this one.It was old and torn up.But when I heard about this book,I was begging my parents to buy me it.My dad said"Is it everything you ever hoped for?".Of course it was!!!!I really liked all of the new mega evolution.
