I loved the Keurboslaan books as a 9-12-year-old kid. I read them multiple times then. I'm just reading the whole series again, and while I certainly don't enjoy them as much now as I did then, I'll rate it as my 10-year-old self would have rated it. As an adult, I think the perfection of Dr. Serfontein is almost sickeningly overdone, but I loved him as a child, which is strange because in real life I disliked strong authority figures and rebelled against them big-time. I also enjoy the parts of these books the most that focus on the school and the naughtiness of the boys, while the Serfontein family sagas are less interesting. I'll recommend it to kids any day.
The 1973 reprint, still printed today, included only 11 books, since each of them combined several books that were previously published separately: 1.Jong Doktor Serfontein 2. Die Hoof van Keurboslaan 3. Nuwelinge op Keurboslaan 4. Die kroon van Keurboslaan 5. Raaisels op Keurboslaan 6. Die Serfontein-kinders 7. Kaptein Richard 8. Geheime op Keurboslaan 9. Misverstand op Keurboslaan 10. Krisis op Keurboslaan 11. Ongenooide gaste op Keurboslaan

That was why I think this book is one of the better ones because it is quite school-centered. But I'll recommend it to kids any day.
