First published in 1988, this popular guide has gone into 10 sell-out printings. Now completely updated to reflect the latest changes in the debt-instrument market, this revised edition not only serves as an introduction to the entire bond business, it provides the most current information available on the different bond instruments, trends in fixed income markets generally, and trends in individual markets. As a Canadian, I found this book had a lot of detail on the US bond market and US bonds that was not really of interest to me at this time. However, just based on the first chapters I am giving this book 4 stars because this is the first time I've seen and explanation of bond yield (current and 'to term') that was easily understandable. The calculations and explanation were excellent. I may come back to this book when I have a better understanding of the bond market in Canada and want to expand my knowledge.
This book made a lot of fairly abtuse concepts understandable. I can't say that I'm a bond expert after reading this, but I could probably play one on television.
