When a stuffed rabbit toy loses a button eye, the button takes the opportunity to have an adventure of it's own. The illustrations are wonderful and look very modern despite being quite old, the adventures of the button are quite far out and made me think of the sort of dreams you have when you have a temperature and you're quite unwell and long for the morning when you can take some ibuprofen and get back to normality. They were lovely illustrations though.

Read on openlibrary.

My absolute favorite story when I was a young child. When my mother would ask me what book I would like her to read to me at bedtime, this would always be my first choice. I loved this book, and I still do. The story is whimsical and the illustrations are splendid. Maybe my favorite story book of all time.

One of my favorites as a child. It was at the library, but I never knew the title until I just saw the cover again. What a delightful find!

Unique, surreal, and childlike story about a lost button's adventure in the magical land where all lost buttons go.

Was hoping for more of a folktale, this is not. I also found the illustrations to be disconcerting. This is a no for me to gift to kids.
