Able to turn herself into anything, Glenda Glinka the witch transforms herself into a little girl, aspiring to be the best child that ever was, and learns how hard it is to do everyday little girl things. Reprint.
Janice May Udry is an American author. She was born in Jacksonville, Illinois and graduated from Northwestern University in 1950. Her first book, A Tree is Nice, was awarded the Caldecott Medal in 1957 for Marc Simont's illustrations. Her papers are held at the University of Southern Mississippi.
Glenda is a witch who wants to try her hand at being a schoolgirl. Unfortunately for her classmates, she is, well, kind of a witch. I was pretty surprised that she doesn't learn any lessons at the end, but it did make me laugh that she just gets bored and decides to leave for Hawaii with her pet crow when the snow arrives.
