I've been a writer, one way or another, all my life. Before I could read, I made up poems and my mom wrote them down for me. In elementary school, my teachers almost always let me write poems or stories instead of requiring me to do art projects. Always, I dreamed of becoming a published writer...and that dream came true! I write novels about sexy, powerful men and independent-minded women, and what happens when they find each other and fall in love. My books are sexy and romantic, and they've very often full of romantic suspense. I write the kinds of books I love to read, and I hope that makes my readers happy.

Re The Second Mrs. Adams - Sandra Marton does a second chance romance with a twist and she uses the slowly fading trope of AMNESIA to do it.

This one starts with a dramatic accident. Our sweet little 22 yr old unhappily married h is hit by a taxi as she is fleeing her confining life. When she wakes up, some rich dude is by her side and everyone is telling her he is her husband.

The h has no clue. She can't remember anything, the collision with the NYC cab has knocked the last four years right out of her mind. But the H wastes no time in letting the h know that their marriage is on the skids and once she is recovered, she will be firmly booted right out the door.

Fortunately SM knows the value of multiple POV and via the H, the H's longtime nice housekeeper and the Insidiously Malicious evil OW - who also happens to the be the H's long time personal assistant- we learn what led these two unhappy people to the point of divorce.

When the H and h met four years earlier, the h was a sweet little unicorn grooming bohemian and the H was a cynical big time businessman. The H became entranced with his little Gypsy h's free and easy ways and in the space of ten days, he managed to lurve her up and marry her.

This marriage DID NOT go down well with the Insidious Perfidious Evil OW. She was not about to play a secondary role in the Bohemian meets Business Guy trope to HEA bliss. Nope, our Perfidious OW decided that the H needs to be staring in her very personal Boss/Secretary chase each other around the desk and end up sharing the Executive Suite HEA instead.

Using her considerable skills in manipulation and connivance, she manages to get the h to transform herself from a free and easy, loving spirit into a poor replica of every other staid and matronly social climber the H has ever known and despised.

All of this is done under the innocent guise of helping the Boss's Wife find her niche of course, tho neither the H nor the h know that our Evil OW estimation of the h's niche is in the gutter with the rest of the trash needing to be cleaned up.

The Perfidious OW even goes so far at to subtly hint that the h's exuberance for the Lurve Club Mojo is distasteful and displeasing to the H, all while our Evil OW is reading the Kama Sutra from cover to cover, practicing her yoga stretches and stocking up on La Perla.

Eventually the h and H deteriorate to separate rooms and separate lives and the divorce process is begun. The h even conveniently gets her brains addled by the accident and our Insidious OW is sure her work is done.

But as the h recovers in the privacy of the H's brownstone, the H starts to see glimpses of the wife he adored when he married her and all the traces of the impostor he had been living with for the last few years seemed to vanish into the mists of HPlandia.

It isn't until the h, who has a great deal more common sense in her amnesiac state than she ever did in her right mind, starts to think that there may be a little somethin' somethin' involving Evil OW assistant overtime under the H that she decides to make a move.

The h marches her amnesiac self into one of the ritzy Fifth Avenue shops she apparently used to patronize, picks out a heliotrope violet flitter dress to replace the subdued, elegantly black duds she is wearing, then gets herself a new hairdresser with some flash and shows up at a society do she apparently planned out for chimp who paints.

She knows the H and his OW are there and the h plans on making a splash. Which she does, but not exactly in the way she meant to. The society gossip press is there and there are a ton of people who know her, but she has no clue to who these people are and why they want to run a full Inquisition on her.

The H winds up sweeping the h away from the mad press of the crowd and they have a semi Purple Passion attempt in the back of the H's limo. This convinces the H that maybe he should give his broken hearted love for his Gypsy wife another chance and it is off to a charming family farmhouse in Connecticut we go.

In the gracious rambling old house, the H and h go part hunting for vintage cars in junkyards, the h gets memory flashes of swimming in ponds and having transcendent shores of golden bliss visits in flowery meadows and love is rekindled. The H is ready to commit to the woman he has rediscovered and then the Evil OW makes her move.

She pretends the H has a big appointment with a Presidential official and gets the H and h back to the city. Through some more perversely sneaky moves, she manages to get into see the h and with a few derogatory remarks disguised as concern, the h's memory returns.

The Perfidious OW gets the h to write a note that she is leaving the H again and this time the OW hides the h in her apartment under the guise of friendship for a good friend fleeing a broken relationship.

The h's gullibility magnifies by a gadzillion with the return of her unhappy marital recollections and she forgets all about the Evil OW suspicions that she had prior to her and the H's trip to the countryside.

The h goes with the Evil OW, dutifully leaving a note behind. But the Insidious OW is quite unprepared for the H's desperation to find his wife and as his agitation increases, the OW can see her chance to bag her own HEA slipping away.

Then the worst thing happens, the h leaves the OW another note, in the OW's apartment. She is going back to the marital home to get her stash of saved cash and then she will wander the highways and bi-ways all on her own.

The H returns just as the h is accessing her bedside piggy bank. There is a big fight and the h explains that she has her memory, she is very upset and she is taking only the money she saved to buy the H a Holley Carburetor into her new life.

The H makes the h sit down and explain and finally, after ten chapters, we get some serious communication. The Panicked and Manic OW comes rushing in, declaring that everything the h says is lies. Since the h really hasn't said much at this point, the OW's proclamation is decidedly suspicious.

When it is revealed that the h was only trying to follow the OW's advice to be a worthy wife to the H and that the OW had been hosting the h in her apartment for the last week AND lying to the H that she had no clue where the h was, the H loses his temper.

He verbally kicks the OW to the curb of the garbage dump of HPlandia and the H's housekeeper grabs the Evil OW by the scruff of her neck and takes the trash out. The H and h reaffirm their True Love Forever Vows and we set off for the Epilogue SM HEA.

Five years on, the h and two adorable plot moppets are waiting on the porch of their Connecticut house for Daddy to get home from a hard day at the office. Everything is bucolically peaceful and full of sparkly lovings and Mummy and Daddy are more madly passionate about each other than ever, as we leave the happy family enjoying the glow of an HPlandia Rosy Pink Sunset HEA.

This one is pretty entertaining in the 'What the Heck Happened In This Trainwreck' stakes and I must confess the Insidious Perfidious Malicious Evil OW is truly delightful.

But this H and h were dumber than a box of rocks and I was sincerely worried about their progeny. Good thing the H is really rich and they probably have trust funds already.

So while the H and h aren't the brightest, they are very loving and the buildup to the Evil OW reveal with the big HEA is worth the ticket price of this most entertaining HPlandia outing.

Carpe Diem ...

I'm typically not a fan of amnesia themes, but this one really delivered quite a punch. I can't believe it is published as a category romance, because it has such depth and more content than you typically find in a book less than 150 pages in length.

I won't repeat the other reviews, since they do a great job in outlining the content of the story. I will only say that I was absorbed from start to finish and credibly I could understand how a young woman could fall prey to an evil manipulative OW and the resulting damage to her marriage.

This is a TERRIFIC read, and I highly recommend it.

An amnesiac h, waking up in the hospital to a husband she doesn’t remember having and moreover a husband who is sending mixed signals, confusing her further.
At this point, I was looking for conspiracies (by the author) like a twin swapping trope etc. especially with a title like ‘The Second Mrs. Adams’.

Now as the H’s pov tells us, the amnesia is quite inconvenient for him as they were on the verge of a divorce and the h had walked out. And he is now obliged to look after a wife he doesn’t want. As things unfold, we get to know their's had been a happy marriage initially with both of them wildly in love with each other. But slowly the wife started changing and became more image conscious and materialistic. From a carefree and wild ‘gypsy’, she became a woman who preferred NYC to their Connecticut home and was always off socializing and attending the bizzarest charity dos. Basically someone he could not relate to any longer and so their private and sex life also suffered and they grew apart in 4 years of marriage.

And as the h is exposed to her previous personality and daily routine, she is quite appalled and unable to accept that she is the same person (so alluding to chances of a twin swap but the author had more tricks up her sleeve.)

I started enjoying the book only after the incident where she decides to gate crash a charity function for ‘Tico the chimp’ (or something) where the H goes off alone without her and her diary tells her she was invited too (in fact had a big hand in organizing it too.)
Of course she goes dressed in a skimpy dress as opposed to her usual signature black gown. And we get fireworks!

A third person is introduced here in the story. The ow/pa makes her appearance complete with her pov.
It makes for a good story
I dislike stupid mcs, so was unsure about the rating in spite of a decent story.

Very well done amnesia story (whoever titled the Listopia AMNESIA: the unforgettable trope.. I love it!)

She was a manic pixie dream girl that unbuttoned the buttoned up finance fiancee. Weirdly, once his PA takes her under her wing, the h turns into a boring, upstanding social x-ray. The couple are on the verge of divorce when she's hit by a car and, what was it, amnesia sets in. She arrives back home surprised to see how stuffy her life is.

It was all great until the big reveal when we find out she was actually a TSTL heroine who was coached from here to great beyond on EVERTHING: from what to wear, how to wear your hair, and, GET THIS, even how to respond to her husband in bed.

One of the better amnesia stories.

MCs are about to divorce, and the H no longer loves the h. Then the h loses her memory, notices how cold her marriage is, and tries to win her hub back during her recovery not realizing that they had both agreed to divorce before the accident all because of his evil PA/ wannabe ow handiwork.

I really dislike heroines in pursuit stories like this, but the book was good nonetheless.

I like amnesia stories because they can give a couple a "reset" in a dramatic way. This story delivers that in spades as the heroine is told of the false person she had become (at the promptings from the OW) and not liking her very much. The hero is also forced to look at his behavior and how he allowed their relationship to drift into dangerous territory. They were on the brink of a very unnecessary divorce, so the angst is all for a good purpose.

There were some lovely scenes between the H/h getting reacquainted in Connecticut. I like how they had both worked on that house and the H's vintage Jag. (The H wanting to find a part at a junk yard rather than ordering it from a vintage parts business rings so true.)

The OW has a great comeuppance. The hero is justifiably angry after she kept her knowledge of the heroine's whereabouts to herself for a week when the hero was out of his mind with worry. And he tells her "If you were a man, I'd beat the crap out of you." Then the housekeeper grabs her by the collar and forcibly removes her from the apartment. *happy sigh*

There's also a cute epilogue five years later. Just a solid story all around.

What a nice surprise.
I expected the usual amnesia trope, and on some levels it was, but it was very well written and developed, not in the usual shallow way.
The heroine Jo has an accident and loses her memory- completely.
We find out she and her husband David had just agreed to a divorce.
Of course now David will have to wait until his wife has her memory back.
David is very angry with his wife. He married her thinking she was a naive and unpretentious girl, full of joy and candor, who loved him for himself, but some month after their marriage Jo became a woman only interested in her appearance, in his money and in the kind of ectic life his billionaire's status could grant her. In the end she became also cold and unfeeling, so they ended living separate lifes and ignoring each other.
He thinks she never really loved him and only pretended to be a different person, but she was a gold-digger only interested in his money.
They decided to divorce, without any disagreement, and the same day Jo had her accident.
Soon after she wakes up from her coma, David understands she is different.
He tells himself he doesn't love her but cannot help himself from caring for her, so he takes her back home, instead of leaving her in a facility, hoping she can remember.
Jo is stunned when she understand the kind of life she was living: all her clothing are plain and severe, she has a personal maid, a butler, she basically leads an empty life, full of hairdressers, fashion sporting club, bizarre charities, and she and David don't sleep in the same bedroom.
She understands that they don't have a happy marriage.
David can't believe she's the girl he fell in love with, he thinks that once she has her memory back, she will become the same unfeeling gold-digger he was about to divorce.
He is also very much attracted by her, but he tries to resist her because he doesn't want to be hurt again.
After a very hot meeting where they almost have sex, he decides to take her to their house in Connecticut, a small and secluded country place where they have lived the first and happy months of their marriage.
There they spend their time eating simple food, walking, and most of all, making love.
David understands he still loves her and will love her forever, and so Jo does.
But.
W readers understand that they have serious issues in their marriage, and that she had changed very much some months after they were married.
But we don't know why.
This was very good because David is not a bad hero, he is a billionaire but he's also a man who loves a simple life, a wife, a family. He wants to love and be loved and thought he found all this with Jo.
Jo is a naive and innocent girl, she loves simple life too but for some reason we don't know ( and she doesn't know since she doesn't remember) she changed drastically after their marriage.
It was really painful to see Jo suffering for her husband's coldness to her, his rejection of her, and also David suffering because he had been hurt before and didn't want to be hurt again.
He was afraid that once her memory was back, so was the woman he wanted to divorce.
But why?
We find out towards the end (even if I suspected something after the first half of the book)
We find out that he has a PA who wants the hero for himself, and befriended the heroine as soon as she was married giving her the kind of advice she knew the hero would dislike, even about their sex life, hinting that she and the hero were long-time friends and he confided in her. Which was true but what she told the heroine were all lies. She was really evil and smart, while Jo was naive and clueless.
The end was really angsty, but I appreciated that David didn't stop to try to find her even after she wrote him she wanted a divorce.
He was crazy about her and was not willing to let her go, he really fought for her, and to understand why she changed so much.
So, I loved this book, as you can see the plot was not an original one, but it was original (and well done) the way it was written.
I appreciated that we have both POV, there are a lot of inner thoughts so we can understands very well the characters' feelings but there's action also.
I loved both characters, maybe Jo was too naive to believe all the lies of OW until the very end.
I recommend it.

Colour me surprised. I just finished visiting the Adams in HPlandia and I enjoyed their tangled story.

Joanna Adams was just shy of signing the paperwork to end her marriage to David when she was in an accident and lost her memory. David wasn’t a cad but he would have been overjoyed if everything was over. He wondered if he had ever loved his superficial wife. Still, he intended to see she received ‘help’ and that either meant followup rehab at Bright Meadows. Or at their home.

He was torn between the outer-shell she presented in the past and the more recent, vulnerable Jo. His Jo. In turn, she was confused with the stoic mystery man who claimed to be her husband. Her gut told her their marriage was unhappy.

”They were so polite, like cautious acquaintances.”

At times, you could slice the air between them with a knife.

From start to finish their journey was only 186 pages but the dialogue and emotions were a step above most Harlequins. And did anyone else notice Be prepared to read their story to find how everything played out.

On a side note, if you like this theme (the end of a marriage, loads of angst, trust, lack of communication with a well-deserved HEA) and want to read a full-length story, search out Theresa Weir’s One Fine Day. But be warned, it is a rollercoaster of emotions.

"The Second Mrs. Adams" is the story of Joanna and David.

Another amnesia trope, in which the heroine undergoes a 180 degree transformation post accident and gets amnesia, and the hero who's about to divorce her cannot comprehend the change!
The h supposedly went from being this flower child and gypsy like innocent creature, to this superficial and vain stepford wife after marrying the H. The h and H had been married for four years, and at the verge of separating when the tragedy strikes.
On waking up, the h is confronted with the harsh reality- especially with the cold way her own husband treats her, and when she embraces what comes naturally to her, everyone is shocked. She soon tries to find happiness in simplicity, and the H starts falling for her all over again..
The thing is, this story is 100% predictable and you see the evil OW from miles away. I only wish that that she was caught early on, the couple did not lose so much of time and misunderstandings solely because of her and their lack of communication. I wish Satan swallows her because she was an evil, evil bitch. The epilogue was cute though, and the couple was nice too.

5 Stars ~ After two weeks in a coma, Joanna wakes to discover her memory has been wiped clean. She doesn't remember the handsome man at her bedside, let alone the name everyone is calling her. David claims to be her husband, but there's something very distant about him. And slowly as the days pass and she tries to adapt with her new situation, she realizes that her marriage had been far from happy. Having been cautioned not to upset his wife, David keeps secret the fact that they were in the process of divorcing when Joanna had her accident. He's bitter and disturbed by this woman who seems to be a reincarnation of the vivacious young woman he'd married. But he knows that that woman had been a lie. His wife had been a cool status seeking piece of work that had fooled him into marriage. Joanna can't come to terms with the lifestyle she's told she wanted and enjoyed. The clothes are all wrong, the decor of their home is too stuffy, and the coldness of not sharing a bedroom with her husband is definitely all wrong. On the advice of her doctor, Joanna decides to seize the day and begin to live again in today whatever and wherever that takes her. And as she does, she slowly emerges as that vivacious woman her husband had fallen in love with.

I just adore a well written amnesia story. I love knowing that the hero and heroine were once so gloriously in love and somehow that love falters but with the cleaning of the slate they've been given a chance to fall in love all over again. Ms. Marton gives us two wonderfully written characters. I could easily see how with the aid of that evil OW, Joanna had some how lost the woman David had fallen in love with. I loved that we were privy to both Joanna's and David's thoughts as they struggle to come to terms not only with the present but with the past, and slowly how they realize how much they want a future. This story had everything I enjoy most in a love story and I'm sure I'll be reading this one again and again

AWWWWWW... that was a great story. One of my favorite uses of *A M N E S I A* I've read so far. Gawd, why do I love that trope so much?? 😅 Probably because it comes along with dramatic fainting spells and emotional flashbacks... I do love the drama.

This book was emotional and included an Evil Cackling Whore OW who has caused these two MCs, who obviously love each other so much, tons of grief and heartache. And she gets put in her place satisfactorily. 👍🏻 👀 Although, I was rooting for her to be hit by a bus. 🤷🏼‍♀️ Apparently, Sandra Marton is much more of a decorous lady than I. 🤡

Bottom Line? Entertaining, dramatic, sexy, and surprisingly sweet. We even get a lovely epilogue. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

⚠️SAFETY SQUAD SPOILERS⚠️

- no cheating or sharing
- OW drama - Evil gal makes loads of trouble, but the H is totally clueless and has no feelings for the OW at all
- no OM drama
- no dubcon, but some angry making out does take place
- no sexual past given for either MC - the h was 18 when they married, and the H was 30 - the OW hinted that he had a past, but it's never mentioned otherwise.

Joanna’s hit by a taxi and wakes up to realize she has amnesia, and the sexy David is her hubs. She soon learns her marriage was not a happy one. The couple have been married 4 or 5 years, and were SUPER happy until whimsical J had a personality transplant to a cold social-climbing diva. Thankfully, with amnesia… she gets her original personality back.

The first half of the book DRAGGED for me. They are separated for a large chunk at the beginning, or avoiding each other. Morgana, his P.A., is introduced in the second chapter and hints of OW drama-llama, but she’s a dud until much later. They don’t have sex/stop avoiding/forward movement until 70%, when things finally start to pick up. The last 30% was great; I loved that Morgana was a psycho, and that David gave her what for.

“You lying bitch! If I ever see your face again, I won’t be responsible for my actions. Now, get out of this house and out of our lives or so help me, I’ll throw you out!”

Bottom Line- The ending was great, but the journey to get there was pretty uneventful. Joanne was pretty wimpy, and easily manipulated. David wasn’t cruel or alpha, and they both came off a bit gullible/dumb. This isn’t a scenario where he is “believing his asst over the wife”, so there’s not the “second-best” angst going on. Truthfully, there’s not a ton of drama either… it’s pretty tame. Dum-dum MC’s isn’t my fav, but it’s kinda sweet, and they’re likeable enough. There’s a nice epilogue 5 year in the future.

A married couple
Marriage in trouble.

There’s not too much of flashback. We get the back story in small doses. The Heroine has amnesia and her memory returns in brief flashes. The Hero has his memory intact and most of the back story is told from his POV. One can almost feel the Hero’s bewilderment, pain and disillusionment at his wife’s transformation from from a sweet, innocent, fiery and passionate girl into a well groomed, controlled and sophisticated socialite filling her days with lunches, charity commitments and board meetings.

The build up of the story was very nicely done. Not too many strong emotions, but at the same time it manages to throw a few gentle punches.

What I liked about the book is the fact that, though the Hero harbours a lot of resentment towards the Heroine, he is never cruel or arrogant or condescending in his behaviour or speech with her. That in my opinion makes him a book husband.

Fun amnesia book. Of course it illustrates that you really should talk to your spouse when things bother you. But if there were not miscommunication issues then where would we HP readers be? :-) It seemed realistically set up with the evil OW messing things up. The heroine's amnesia allowed her to break out of her destructive pattern of behavior and grow a spine. And of course the hero could not resist falling in love again with his wife after she loses the behavior which had been inspired by the OW.

I wanted them to tear that bitch apart who tried to ruin their lives but i guess this isn't that kind of book where you get away with murder, but she did get atleast the fraction of what was deserved physically and the pain of her dreams crashing down and loss of her job should be enough.

I loved Joanna and David. They were so helpless, one didn't remember anything and one was seeing a ghost.

I believe their happy ever after.

Amnesia books are not my favorite, but this one was particularly well done. Sandra Martin did an excellent job of showing the distance and pain between the h and H. The evil, conniving OW was a brilliant twist although I wished for a harsher put down in the end, but all well...

Joanna had an accident which caused her amnesia. Everything was strange and new to her even David, the man who claimed to be her husband! Her attempts to gain memory were useless and David seemed reluctant to take her back home! Therefore, she instinctively knew their marriage was not a happy one and when she finally went back home with him, this idea was ten folds confirmed by their separate bedrooms!! Joanna was at a lose not only from her memory blackout, but also from her conflicted feeling of love and fear towards David.

A very lovely heart-touching story of two people falling in love and drifting apart, but a miraculous accident saves them from divorce and losing each other. I loved the story and the way the character's feelings are put clear to the reader. I really recommend it.

I'm not really a fan of amnesia tropes, but this was something else. I was hooked from page one up to the last. The story was weaved perfectly and is very powerful. It is not an easy read but very worth it. I think Ms. Marton did an amazing job with this book, taking a familiar storyline and then fleshing it out emotionally so it doesn't feel stale, dated, and redundant.

Overall, The Second Mrs. Adams was a great read, and I was genuinely happy for both of them and glad they got their deserved happy-ever-after.

I really, really liked this one. The marriage was in trouble, but when Joanna was hit by a taxi & hit her head, she awoke with no memory of anything. Her husband, David, seems to hate her and she doesn't know why. I loved the way their love developed as Joanna's "sophisticated" persona disappeared with the amnesia.

The would-be OW is deliciously evil, but gets her "comeuppance" in the end.

On her way to collect her divorce papers Joanna was struck by a cab and suffered amnesia as a result.

A massive stretch of the imagination. The problem I had with this book was how gullible they both were to be so easily duped by Morgana. Lack of communication (isn't it always) seemingly sealed the fate of these two but had it been any other way there would have been nothing to fill in 189 pages.

This was a great 2nd chance story with lots of heart. It is only a second chance because the h gets hit by a cab, bumps her head on the curb and develops amnesia.

Heroine, mid 20s, has been married to the H for four years. It was a whirlwind courtship(2 weeks). These two were very happy and enjoyed many of the same things. Our girl is not fancy and likes the doing things with her man like restoring their farmhouse in Connecticut and helping the H with his car restoration. Things go horribly wrong when she and her husband, a famous financial wizard, go to his place in NYC(not far from Central Park💰) The woman who he referred to as his gypsy,

has undergone a brain transplant and is now Mrs. Socialite Extreme!

Hero-mid 30’s, wonders what has happened to make his wife transform into the opposite of what he loved about her. Was it trickery? Was the innocent girl act just a way to snag a rich successful man? (Both of them come from less than stellar backgrounds although this is only mentioned in passing as it is not a driving force in the story). Basically their marriage ambles on like a lion with a thorn in its paw. He throws himself into work, she throws herself into charity events, massages, Jane Fonda workouts, etc..Eventually they have separate rooms. After 4 years of this they have amicably agreed to a quickie divorce in the Caribbean….Then she gets struck by the cab and has amnesia.

The hero is a stand up guy. Even though he doesn’t love his wife anymore, he wants her to get better and then resume the divorce. He doesn’t want to get sucked in by her sorcery again and fall in love so he remains aloof with her. The h senses that there couldn’t have been much love in their marriage. The H puts her in a recovery center, but she is miserable so he takes her to their place in NYC. The h hates everything about this place as soon as she sees it. She hates the decor, her wardrobe, etc….She is grappling with what she is told she used to be to what she feels she really is. The story continues in this vein, and the H starts to see glimpses of the woman he fell in love with, but
After attending a very unusual function, the h and H have a moment in the backseat of the Bentley. However, this comes to frustration, and both of them retire to separate rooms unable to sleep. Then the Hero tells the h to grab a bag and be ready in 10 minutes because they are driving to Connecticut. (He tells her skip the clothes, because her real clothes are still in Connecticut.) The h is instantly in love with the home in Connecticut. Finally, the magic happens for them. Both he and she want to say ILY but no one wants to be first. He decides that they should extend the weekend to the h’s delight and calls his PA who insists he needs to come back as there are big wigs in town from Washington(he reluctantly agrees and the h goes back with him). Now folks I have held off on the PA thus far, but this is where the real trickery lies.

With certain names, comes certain assumptions or biases. When you name a child Candy, some think stripper pole. When you name a child Morganna, some may think Sorceress from the Arthurian legends. In this case, Morganna, the ever faithful PA to the hero, lives up to those assumptions.

The EVIL OW, Morganna, -She is a very efficient PA who sits on the edge of her boss’s desk with her skirt hiked up and blouse undone. Basically she is responsible for the breakdown of the marriage, and we actually get to see her POV..

In this story, we see the H’s POV as well as the heroines and ow’s. I enjoy seeing the thought processes. After reading a couple of books where the male heroes could hardly be called heroes(looking at you Robyn Donald and Margaret Pargeter) It was refreshing to see and honest to goodness good guy, who by no means is perfect, but he was not cruel. His biggest fault was not to see that his PA most definitely had her sights set on him. Both he and the h should have done some more communicating in the marriage. Of course, I am a sucker for Epilogues, and the author pleased me by including one 5 years into the future. This was a satisfying read with a very nice second chance romance, and I wasn’t even tempted once to make my coffee Irish as it was.a smooth read.

Oh, and a side note I really like how the Hero carries her throughout the book(happiness🥰!!)

An accident... Amnesia....A chance to fall in love all over again! David Adams is going to have to let his wife back into his life. He'd been about to divorce Joanna, when she had the accident. True, she'd undergone a complete personality change since then, and has turned back into the lovely girl he married. But does that mean he's going to fall right back in love with her?
David is convinced that what he feels for Joanna right now is lust. But he must resist their reborn attraction...because, once Joanna's memory has returned, this pretense of a real marriage must surely be over..
