He lost his wings...Blue Angel Naval Commander Jim Standing Bear lived to fly. And when that was taken away from him one dark night, his ability to walk had mysteriously disappeared with it. Until one not-so-dark night when a dancing angel caught his eye...And found his heart. Lovely and innocent, Sarah Sloan had never been as entranced by any man as she was by the wounded warrior who was Jim Standing Bear. This was a strictly okay read for me. There was too much of wish-washiness in the characters and the romance. The heroine has just moved in next door with her father who has Alzheimer's. The hero has been unable to walk since his accident that took his wings. Our heroine is a do-gooder who doesn't think she is pretty and makes a friendly overture to the hero who is rude & then comes back to apologize. She ropes him in to mentor her school kids. Even when the hero starts walking he thinks he doesn't have much to offer her since his future is uncertain, she doesn't think she is his type & then add in some melodrama with her father's health situation. Average.
