My parents worked for the airlines (TWA) so I was able to see a lot of Europe as a kid. I moved to Seattle Washington at the age of 22 and stayed there for twelve years before moving to Alaska for a little over two. Fairbanks, AK was one hell of an experience and I wouldn't hesitate to go back! I spent a little over a year in South Carolina before moving back to Arizona. I then left for Kansas for five years and now reside in Arizona. I've been connected to the military in one way or another for over half my life and wouldn't change a thing about it. Writing has become my full time job and I've never been so happy doing a job I love and being able to do it in my jammies. I plan on writing until I dry up and die. Hopefully, that won't happen soon!

Well, to put it mildly, it was a disappointment. Let’s see in details...
Poor writing style: spelling and editing mistakes, repetitions, and undetectable alternating POVs.
Odd and/or mediocre erotic scenes.
At many points of the story fucking in werewolf form was a serious threat.
Indistinguishable secondary characters.
Undeveloped, lust-based romance. Evidently, being mates = being in love.
Unestablished, superficial and inconsistent world-building and plot.
The story was like a weird, sugarsweet dog love story, with lots of playing...
... chasing tennis balls...
...and further weirdnesses...
“Well, this should be fun.” Dakota smiled, watching Sam chase his tail.
And let’s go back to my update at 74%.
Many future couples appear in this book, even the seven-year-old Wyatt finds his future mate.
“When you are old enough, your mate will come for you and then you will have love for the rest of your life.”

Because these kind of awful books do it for me.

I have very mixed feelings about the books in this series. On one hand the writing is pretty bad and at times confusing. But I cannot seem to stop, I want to know what happens with all the other people I’ve come to know in these 3 books so far.
We have met the wolf Dakota in the previous book. We also learned he is a werewolf, but other than that we have no idea who he is. And I would love to say I know all about him after reading this book, but this writer is not a big fan of providing background, so I still know nothing. But that's okay.
This book starts with Sam hitting a wolf with his truck. Sam who is a friend of Josh and also in the assassination business. He hits what he thinks is a real wolf. This wolf who has been shot in his leg (the leg injury never comes up again, Sam never notices it has healed within a few hours).
He carries the wolf to his truck (who carries a wolf without fear of being bitten?) and after bringing him to his motel room decides to keep him. Euuh… what, keep a real wolf as a pet?
After a very convenient call to Josh he learns the wolf’s name is Dakota. Dakota who is already totally smitten with Sam. So when Sam goes out to grab a beer, Dakota shifts, finds some clothes and hurries after Sam to meet him in human form.
These two meet, cannot control themselves, kiss and Dakota takes off. This evening repeats itself when Sam goes out for another beer the next night, but this time they end up in a motel room and have sex. Human Dakota leaves Sam before he wakes up. Wolf Dakota travels with Sam to his home town.
It is not long before Dakota’s big secret is revealed, because he involuntarily shifts when he gets attacked by a wolf from his old pack. Sam immediately accepts he has fallen in love with a werewolf and these two accept they’re mates. There is absolutely no background info on the whole werewolf culture.
They arrive in Sam's home town and Dakota meets the parents. And wow, what a coincidence, it happens that almost everyone there is a werewolf! And wouldn’t it be wonderful if Dakota is accepted without doubt in the new pack.
The I-love-yous and the you-are-my-mates fill the rest of the book. Along with some trouble Dakota’s old pack is causing.
Oh, and it appears everyone who hasn’t found his mate before now suddenly has, when the two packs meet (and fight). They are of course all male, even though Dakota was kicked out of his pack for being gay. And what a surprise to find that everyone is now gay! Yay, gay for all!
To say you need to put on a really big suspension of disbelief pants is putting it mildly. Still, I love these books.
On to the next!

This series is fun, crack-like goodness...and once you start it's so very hard to stop.
Frankly, Greg Tremblay under his "Greg Boudreaux" pseudonym is just making this series a delightful listen!
What I liked: Dakota hiding being a shifter didn't go on too long (because much longer would have been annoying as all hell), and the relationship growth between Dakota and Sam.
What I didn't like: The Shifter lore was a little too Twilight-y (I hope that gets fleshed out a bit better as the series goes on), and the introduction of too many new characters too quickly. Though Greg does an admirable job of voicing them all, it still got way too confusing while listening.
Luckily though, I had bought the ebook and audio as part of a whispersync deal so I could switch to immersion reading during the tough to follow by listening only times.
On a side note, folks? The Whisperync deals for this series and the audio is almost too good to pass up. Definitely check it out before using an Audible credit - you can get the ebook and audio for only $5.98 total (as of 12/1/2016), which is far less than what one credit is worth. Isn't math fun?
Greg continues to narrate this series beautifully. He's entertaining, keeps up with the pacing of the story, and does an commendable job keeping up with all the characters. There are definitely issues with the story, the writing, and the editing, but not with the narration. Greg's narration is simply a pleasure to listen to.
Bottom Line? I was happy we finally got some shifters in this assassins/shifters series and I'm looking forward to seeing where Gasq-Dion takes the series next.

May 14, 2012Not going to rate this because I couldn't finish it. At about 30% the mountain of disbelief I'd been suspending fell and squashed me.
I know, how much can I spoil if I've only read 30%, but I don't want to ruin anyone's enjoyment of how our heros meet. :) Maybe the 70% that I'm forgoing is fabulous and amazing and contains an explanation that completely justifies the beginning, which would be fantasic and I wish someone who had more stamina than I and actually finished the book would comment here and let me know if that's the case.

On par with the previous books I've read/listened to in this series and, other than the constant POV change/head-hopping, I liked the story. (I've gotten spoiled by authors who keep each chapter to one POV, or clearly differentiate the shift.) Thankfully Greg did a good job with the pacing and voices to keep me listening. Typical true-mate trope but just as I understand the adoration for Mary's MoT books, I can see why these are well-loved as well. Susan's Review sums it up...I'm also not overwhelmed by the writing but can't seem to stop and want to know what happens with all the other characters.

3.5 stars on this one as well. Yay! We finally got to the paranormal storyline! This one was cute, especially in the beginning when Sam was taking care of Dakota and Dakota was sneaking out to meet Sam in human form.
Yes, this is fairly predictable and not surprisingly new idea-wise, but they are fast easy reads with quite a few likable characters. We meet a lot of new people in this book as the wolf packs are introduced, but the main assassin team is still present.
It was nice to see the other guys again, and I'm looking forward to the next installment.

Ho già letto tutta la serie in inglese, sto fremendo per il 25° libro che uscirà fra circa una settimana ma sono felicissima di rileggermi la storia in italiano.
Scopriamo ad uno ad uno i nostri "assassini" e sono contenta di leggere i commenti entusiasti delle mie amiche. Non oso immaginare la loro reazione quando arriveranno V e gli altri, perché se fin ora la serie è piaciuta fra un po' arriveranno i fuochi d'artificio.
Mi viene quasi voglia di rileggermela in inglese, ma la traduzione italiana è così ben curata che cercherò di resistere ed aspetterò i prossimi capitoli tradotti.

So this is a thing I did I decided to get the first 6 books in this series because hey...audible and narrated by Greg Boudreaux (or Greg Tremblay) so I'll do a bit of a ramble about the first 6 books when I get to the last one that I listened to which was 'For the Love of Caden' I was going to add the cover but apparently GR would rather I didn't so words it is.

Did not finish
Well... I just don't understand why this was so highly rated? Where to start... the writing wasn't great. The perspective shifted almost every paragraph which was confusing. There were issues with spelling and grammar but the biggest problem was the story itself.
The characters weren't well designed. Sam is introduced as someone working to help scare off poachers. He reads like a grad student, just an every day dude who is just doing his own thing but... no he's an assassin. What? From the first 50 pages that I read he hasn't really done much that would signify this.
He just picks up an injured wolf, lets that wolf stick his nose up his butt, then flirts with the thing before finding out it's a shifter. That's weird!
And Dakota, the omega of the pack, keeps fighting and scaring away someone who is much more alpha in the pack? That's not even how that works. Nevermind that the sex scenes were boring, or that the explanations for his actions are weird.
I could not get through anymore of this if I tried!

** Trying to keep visible spoilers at a minimum, but bleedthrough is unavoidable. **
More rape. Ah dear god. Make it stop. Is this going to be a staple for people’s back-story from now on in this series? Please tell me it won’t be. Either way, the event is handled in an acceptable fashion here.
Dakota’s cute and I appreciate his woes when he has to juggle his twofold exposure to Sam in the beginning. Not that he is being particularly woeful about anything. His lack of drama or fretting is actually very refreshing. Yep, he was cool.
I liked Sam too. Nothing hugely special going on with him personality-wise, but he’s solidly devoted and that’s always nice.
I have to admit, I liked the relationship those two slide into. They’re not only cute together but more importantly manage to avoid all the more obvious forced points of negative friction. No arbitrary fights or misunderstandings here.
Only the lack of sexual safety is getting to me. A hasty, ambiguous inquiry does not cut it. And I hope Dakota got himself checked out a few times in the years since his rape.
Since we’re on the subject, this book features a lot of sex. Hyperbolical sex at that.
The moment things get weird and a little disjointed, thus hard to follow. So many mates or possible mates pop up and what is even going on and… Jeez. Four future couples. Four. And three of them occurring at almost the same moment.
The head-hopping really does not help with any of it. Each paragraph requires concentration to figure out whose thoughts we get with the dialogue. There even are occasions when we get into more than one mind within the same paragraph. Harsh.
Also, everyone really is a copy of almost every else. Attitudes certainly are all alike. All members of the older generation are blissfully happy with whatever gender their offspring likes (of course all the offspring seems to be male and into guys at least part-time; go figure), as long as they provide grandkids eventually. No variation thus far. These scenes aren’t even detailed either; stuff just piles on top of other stuff at breakneck speed.
Well, when this series decides to explode the power spectrum it goes all out. Super-powered seems too mild a word and the speed of progress in that that area is immense.
Then it’s apparently time for an interlude featuring lots of homemaking and, er, breeding (no, not like that; it’s all about babies) at lightning speed. To be honest it felt more like one of those wish-fulfilment fantasies than an actual story during those parts. (And they were lengthy.)
Eventually we return to the paranormal and action-oriented plot, but on the whole the second half of this book is a disjointed mess, trying to go into too many directions at once.
Even so, it was enjoyable, as long as you don’t mind the overflow of sex and a certain lack of believability. As for the latter, two bits stood out most to me.
The first concerns Taylor.
Oh well. I guess the fact that I now really want to continue reading means that, in spite of my complaints, this book somehow worked for me.

Tams e-book review December 2012
The third installment of the Assassins/Shifters series follows Sam Waters, another member of the elite team of assassins known as the Skull Blaster unit, and Dakota Cadotte. We were introduced to these two separately toward the end of book two as they played their parts in Josh and Marks story. This book starts out with Dakota in wolf form and on the run from poachers. The small and meek black wolf with piercing grey eyes quite literally falls into Sams arms, as Sam almost runs him over!
Dakota quickly latches on to the 6’4 buff native American with long shaggy black hair and mesmerizing hazel eyes. The pull to one another is overwhelming and they quickly become inseparable, and almost as quickly fall in love. Already knowing that Dakota is a werewolf, it barely phases Sam to learn that most of the guys he grew up with on the reservation are werewolves as well. Dakota is welcomed into the pack and Sam’s life and family with open arms; and they lived happily ever after. As if, just sayin.
Now that Dakota has found his mate and the bond between them helps him grow physically and mentally stronger, the pack that previously shunned him for being gay wants him back now that he’s become a wolf to be reckoned with. Enemies become allies when Dakota is kidnapped and the strength of their love, the bond he and Sam share, is put to the test.
As always Gasq-Dion gives just as much attention to her side characters as she does to Sam and Dakota. I loved the schematics of the different member’s of the wolf pack and the authors definition of Alpha/Omega/Beta within the pack. Again with the action, suspense and enough twists and turns to give you whiplash; this is my favorite of the series so far. And of course there is the oh so steamy scenes with Sam and Dakota that will leave you fanning yourself and saying “oh my, my, my goodness!”
Sensual, sexy, steamy and down right HAWT M/M story!
I give this one 5/5 but that’s just my two cents.

Oh hell yes. I loved the story, the characters, the plot and the way Boudreaux truly brought it all together and delivered an audiobook that was eargasmic!

Any other book in the series, it is my favorite MM Shifter series.
What does Greg Boudreaux bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
He breaths life into the characters in a way I'm not sure anyone else could.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes, but I had to split it over two days. I did, however, leave it on my Zune to listen to over, and over, and over...

Seriously, this is the perfect marriage of an Author and a Narrator. I don't think Dion could have found a better narrator to tell this stellar cast of characters stories. I'm chomping at the bit for the next book, Sawyer and Troy, I need it... like now!

What does Greg Boudreaux bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
He breaths life into the characters in a way I'm not sure anyone else could.

Seriously, this is the perfect marriage of an Author and a Narrator. I don't think Dion could have found a better narrator to tell this stellar cast of characters stories. I'm chomping at the bit for the next book, Sawyer and Troy, I need it... like now!

Dakota saura-t-il laisser sa vrai personnalité jaillir aux regards de tous ? et ainsi s'épanouir !
Dès les premiers instants on sait que Dakota est attiré par Sam, sa voix excite ses sens lupins, son physique est alléchant.
Sam le prend sous son aile sans se poser de question. Sans le comprendre, il ressent ce lien. Même en découvrant son secret sa réaction reste calme et posée. Il accepte plutôt sereinement, trop peut être pour que cela soit crédible. Son retour au source apporte également son lot de révélations, il reste toujours imperturbable.
Leur union est possessive avec des étreintes fougueuses de plaisir intense, des vagues d'un désir torride.
La famille de Sam accepte Dakota naturellement en son sein, ainsi que sa nouvelle meute qui lui fait prendre conscience de son potentiel. Il se rend enfin compte que depuis le début, il a été bridé, asservi, rabaissé.
La présence, l'amour de son compagnon rendent Dakota plus fort, plus dominant, imposant. Il dégage une onde de puissance impressionnante. Ils se complètent. Sam lui offre famille, amour, attention et protection. La boucle est bouclée.
D'ailleurs l'intrigue concernant ce magnifique loup est plutôt attirante. Pourquoi son ancienne Meute tente de le récupérer à tout prix ? A vous de le découvrir !
L'histoire monte crescendo en suspense et le spectacle se termine trop rapidement à mon goût. C'est un tourbillon où intervient la peur, la panique ce qui attise la curiosité.
De nouveaux éléments sont révélés qui permettent de comprendre pourquoi des loup garous apparaissent dans le tome 3 ce qui m'avait laissé perplexe au départ. Car ici on change de registre par rapport aux deux premiers tomes.
On retrouve avec plaisir les personnages des tomes précédents. Les corrélations se mettent en place ce qui éclairent sur certains points flous. Ce récit est intéressant, un peu rapide. De plus, à un moment les protagonistes s'enchaînent et je dois avouer avoir perdu le fil de qui était qui.
J'ai aimé me plonger dans l'univers des loups, même si plusieurs variantes existent d'un livre à l'autre.
Je suis tout de même impatiente de découvrir la suite car l'auteur nous fait un petit cadeau à la fin qui pique notre intérêt....

Incredibile! E questa una delle tante parole che mi circolano in testa dopo aver finito questo libro, favoloso, ho letteralmente mangiato le pagine, una storia pazzesca, devo dire che questa serie diventa sempre più bella, dopo due contemporanei entriamo con questo terzo libro all'interno del fantasy più puro, conosciamo Dakota giovane lupo, e Sam. Due uomini che faranno scintille e le loro scene di sesso saranno davvero fuocose.
Una storia incredibile, la scrittrice e riuscita a creare un mondo bellissimo intorno ai protagonisti, bello ritrovare i personaggi dei libri precedenti e scoprire i personaggi futuri.

You know when you have a dream and it just morphs into new scenes without continuity? This book was like that for me. The idea behind it was interesting: typical gay shapeshifter is shunned and meets his mate on the run. But my problem was that all issues were solved immediately, no one had any problems sexual orientation or being another species. The descriptions were course and often not really that sexy in sex scenes; I actually skipped some.
Don't even get me started on the assassin who does not actually act or fight like an assassin.
I don't like giving bad reviews, and I did get something out of it, just not as much as I hoped. Might try the next book though.

I love this series. It's just so over the top in the best way. This installment was really sweet and adorable. There's some action of course, but I feel like this one was more emotionally driven than others I've read. I loved Dakota and Sam. You just want them happy and whole and together. Little Wiley is EVERYTHING. So cute. Loved seeing the other guys. Can't wait to read all their stories. I really need to devote some time to this series.

I have to admit, I laughed a few times while reading this one. Dakota in wolf form hanging out with Sam was funny. I loved his antics. I really enjoyed these two. They were playful and fun and hot as heck. Loved meeting Sam's parents and the Quintin family. I'm totally hooked on this series. I can't read them fast enough.

3.5 stars rounded down to 3. I loved Sam and Dakota, but I found myself skimming parts of this book. There were way too many sex scenes and (again) numerous editing/writing issues. I was hoping that by the time I got to this point in the series, they would be fixed. Nope. Not yet.

Again, a good fast read, but everything is too picture perfect & all mooshy sweet.
One thing that does bother me greatly & it may just be me. When you first meet the (MC) Dakota (you first meet him in bk.1)you get the impression that this is a big, strong, dangerous wolf/man or Were who is a tough kind of guy/wolf but they really want or need to find their mate..This is how they are portrayed all along as they hang out or help fight enemies with their friends & other pact members. However, the minute they meet their mate this all goes to hell! Suddenly they are a puddle of giggling, shy, meek & mushy man goo! YUCK! I don't mind when the guy is a more feminine personality but usually they start that way, not take a feminine dive just because they find a mate, right?? So to go from growling, snarling, hot, muscled & tough Weres to whining weenies who turn into mangirls! Really?? It makes me snarl & growl the rest of the book(well & roll my eyes & yell come on!! really?!? man up!!) it makes me feel a little better anyway, LOL.Since I'm whining I might as well add I HATE when they say "he turned & GIGGLED! WOW !! GIGGLES? (this would be a place where I would do the eye roll thing) It almost makes me want to gag & chuck the book (or in my case my kindle) I cannot see a man(gay or not)giggle! He may CHUCKLE or SNORT or SNICKER but NEVER GIGGLE! Come on!!! That is totally a teen girl thing & that's bad & annoying enough! It just really throws the whole book off! Wheew
So, with that being said, this is a fun, flirt y quick read as long as you want a picture perfect, ducks all in a row with a lot of giggling done by a "dangerous" Were & repeated sex(all the sex is the same, no changing it up or as in "vanilla") then this book & series is good for you. Did that make sense?
Anyway, it's good, more like 3.25 stars. I like to read this type of book when I've finished a heavy or emotionally dark book or if I'm feeling a little down or blue. They give me a lift or a laugh & I don't have to think to read it. All good! :)

Dakota è un lupo mutaforma che ha attraversato, e sta attraversando, un periodo terribile (periodo che dura già da qualche anno, ormai), l'incontro, o sarebbe meglio dire lo scontro, con Sam lo farà sentire protetto e al sicuro per la prima volta. Anche Sam si trova alle prese con situazioni e sentimenti inaspettati e scoprirà verità delle quali non immaginava neppure l'esistenza. Sam è un uomo forte che non si tira certo indietro di fronte alle difficoltà e ai pericoli e che non esita a mettere in gioco tutto se stesso per chi ama.
Come vi dicevo, pur presentando situazioni violente e drammatiche, questo rimane un libro molto dolce, grazie ai due protagonisti, ma grazie anche ai meravigliosi personaggi che li circondano: la famiglia di Sam in primis.
Pur facendo parte di una serie è leggibilissimo anche da solo; tenete presente, inoltre, che da questo romanzo in poi la svolta "paranormal" si fa molto più marcata. A metaphor of how society can sap power from those that are different. This is an empowering story of wrongs put right and love that can heal oneself, and those around us. This m/m paranormal romance has strong adult scenes. Five stars *****

This book was much better than Alaska, With Love (Assassin/Shifter #2), but not by much. Unfortunately, I expected the writing to get better, as new authors usually progress with each book that is published, but I couldn't see any growth. It's the same old trope: gay, delicate shifter (Dakota) meets big, macho human (Sam) and they have hot sex and get bonded/fall in love/become mates, etc. This is not a new trope and in my estimation has been done much better (think Lynn Lorenz's Bayou series).
While the twist in this was that when Dakota mates with Sam, he grows in his werewolf powers and abilities (cool original idea), I'm afraid I lost it when Dakota's attempted rapist somehow became a good guy towards the end of the book. I've heard of redeeming a villain, but there was no explanation on why he went good or even an apology to Dakota for attacking him. I wasn't buying it.
Also, as with books 1-2, there are massive grammar/punctuation errors. Add in the head hopping from POV to POV and this was a D+ read for me. I love gay shifters as much as the next girl, but so far I am not not feeling this series yet. I will keep trying though.

By the Light of the Moon is the Third book in this series. I had had the first five books on my kindle for a while and was not sure I was going to enjoy them. I think the fact it included shifters was putting me off starting reading them. In the last book I met Dakota who at the end of the Book turned into a werewolf, this made me intrigued so I was looking forward to reading this book. Again the author produced a great story and even though it was full of shifters I really did enjoy the book! I am loving learning more about the characters and know I am going to keep reading the books till I finish the series.
Great read, full of action and suspense with a beautiful love story!

Audiobook Review:
I'll be honest, I initially read this book 3 years ago and really hated it, gave it 2 stars. But when one of my favorite narrators started narrating the series on audio book, I tried it again from the beginning. I've been through the first three books in the series in two days, and the 2 stars is now 4 stars. Greg Boudreaux's (aka Tremblay) performance made all the difference. The story was brought to life (and he corrected a lot of the grammatical and spelling errors) in a way that I am now a fan of the series in audio format. On to Book 4.

I really like this series. The plot is fast paced and a bit predictable but an enjoyable read nonetheless. However, there are so many characters that I had to create a spreadsheet to keep track of the three different shifter packs, the Skullblasters/assassins, the FBI agents and the miscellaneous people that don't fall in any of those groups. And then there are the Russian assassins which will be introduced soon as well.

I liked this a lot more than the rating shows. I really enjoyed the characters but the story line and the writing wasn't that good. The POV switches weren't always easy or obvious. The plot was too obvious and easy. The characters' love story was automatic with no struggle to it. Really the conflict was very underdone and anticlimatic.
Still I did like it and will read the next. Yes, I know it makes no sense but this is just one of those light, fluffy reads.

This third story was solid enough, but I'm getting sick of plots, where everything circles around finding your special person to shag around, to say it mildly. Everything in this story circles around sex between Dakota and Sam. I was bored at the end, truly
