He has a secret. A secret so big it would make it impossible for us to be together. But I don’t know that in the beginning. All I know is that his name is Cruise, he has a wicked body and a sexy smile, and that he wants to make my life a living hell. He lives in Villa Seven at the Seascape Villas, the hotel where I’ve just started working. The locals whisper about him. The other employees warn me to stay away, tell me that all he does is fight and screw, that a good girl like me should run as fast as she can. He’s all tattoos and brooding stares, with a constant parade of half-naked women traipsing in and out of his villa. But Cruise is impossible to resist. I want to know everything about him. I want to understand every wound, every scar that snakes through his battered soul. Including the secret that changed him into what he is now. The thing that turned him angry and dark. The events that left him vowing never to get close to anyone. Even if knowing the truth will break everything we’ve built together….
The story was actually very good. But edit. Edit. Edit. Grammar check. Vocabulary check. Fact check. Tweak the book, expand the story, delve into the characters histories and this would be a really good novel.
This book was not great, just ok. A few times I debating finishing it or not. It is not 415 pages, more like 200ish pages. There are a lot spelling/grammar issues. The story is also very rushed and the rushes aspect makes the story pretty unbelievable. The time line just doesn't work. I would not recommend this book when there are so many other goods reads out there.
Its a good length though, could be a tad longer because the ending does feel a little rushed. Not massively just a little bit wham bam moment.
I liked it though. Best out of the few I've read in the last few days. I like Cruise, his character does do a U turn some could call that character development. Hes moody and well rude day 1 and then by the end hes tripping over himself to do something for Maya.
I like Maya too. It was sweet how quickly she fell in love with the hotel. I thought it was a little quick but hey! What ever.
At the end of the day its a romance chick lit read that has a rather built man on the cover to draw in readers. So don't expect perfection!! It is what it is!
