I tend to think of cooking with spiralized vegetables as a quick and simple meal and picked up this book hoping to expand my list of "go-to" recipes. While some of the tips on using a spiralizer early in the book were useful, the recipes themselves were not. Many had long lists of unusual or hard to find ingredients. Some ingredients commonly used in these recipes were easily available, but not pleasing to my palate. Substitutions were not included.
I've always been a huge fan of pasta and starches, so this year I bought a Spiralizer in hopes of creating healthier meals that don't leave me deprived. Zoodles Spiralizer Cookbook by Sonnet Lauberth is just what I needed to take spirilizing to the next level. The first chapter is full of tips and info to make getting started easier and more efficient. With recipes such as spaghetti and meatballs and weeknight minestrone, I hope to incorporate many of these healthy alternatives into the family routine. I received a review copy of this book from the publisher.
