This biography presents "a fascinating account of the education of 'The Father of the Constitution' - an education begun at home under his devout grandmother, continued in a small boarding school run by an outstanding Scottish teacher and concluded at the Presbyterian College of New Jersey (now Princeton)."
My new favorite book. I will read and reread this treasure. Perfect companion to a "Thomas Jefferson Education." My book is extremely marked up and I took over twelve pages of notes. That's a lot for me. I'm recommitted to keeping my "commonplace book." I also understand the power of "read, write, discuss" more clearly now. Fascinating.
Fascinating, there is good reason why he became the "Father of Our Constitution." Although, I kept looking forward to the end when she would outline how his education could be "a model for today" and was a little disappointed. She recomended some programs and wrote one line warning against progressive educaiton. I just wish she would have elaborated more on this.
