I read this while waiting at a soap store.
The epic struggles of Calliou's father dealing with an absolute pansy of a child hasn't changed from what I remember of the television show.
I could hear his annoying whiny voice as I was reading it even. I hated this show lol

This book is from the animated series of Caillou. This is a great book for younger readers. This particular story deals with peer pressure which is a good topic of discussion with young children.

My nearly 3 year old cousin loves to say, "I'm scared" when he is asked to sit at the table for a meal. He's gotten to the point where he practically has a full meltdown. I mention this because in this book Caillou is scared to go down the big slide and it gave me an opportunity to discuss what was an appropriate thing to be scared of... lunch not being one of them. We're beginning to have more in depth conversations both during the reading of a book and after the book is finished. It's pretty interesting watching this little human grow. I hope my reading him 5 books or more twice a week helps him become a fully rounded adult someday.

This is a good book because it is dealing with an issue that could really happen. It talks about a child being scared and another not being scared. The scared child is then helped by an older person such as a parent or a teacher to help make that situation not so scary. The illustrations really helped to support what the words were saying. When they were playing in the tunnels the picture supported the words. Also when Caillou climbed up the big slide the slide really looked like it was big. Overall, a very good book to read to help kids not to worry about being scared.
