I enjoyed the book greatly. Especially found the description of Lois' time in camp both realistic and spiritually helpful. The change she makes in her life was motivating to me.
This is one I remember hearing my mom talking about loving when she was younger, and I finally got my hands on a copy to read it for myself! We start off with a very mischievous pair of twins, who, let's be honest, are not the best role models in their new school. Lois and Lettice are entirely identical, to the point of being able to swap out for each other when one of them has forgotten to practice, etc. They also get a lot of enjoyment out of breaking certain rules and organizing the other girls to join them. However, things get shaken up when one of the girls gets sick and the other is sent to stay with a friend for the summer, where she attends a Christian camp and has her life changed in ways that put her at odds with her twin for the first time in their lives. I couldn't help feeling for both girls as they dealt with the fallout of such a significant change in one of the girls who had up until now always shared everything. Although there were rocky times and even the changed girls didn't always make the right choices, I loved the overall message and how clear the difference was, while still showing that becoming a Christian didn't take away the girls' personalities or ability to have fun. Note that there is also a mystery involving a "ghost," but no one seems to believe there's an actual ghost involved, just unexplained footsteps/disappearances/etc. Overall, I very much enjoyed the story, over and above getting to share something that meant so much to my mom. <3
