Jub Zindagi Shuru Hogi /

This is a fictional account of Islamic eschatology which is really interesting and has amazing psychological and spiritual benefits. The account is aimed to be really simple so as to reach most of the people. Literary criticism can be abundantly advanced by the critics but, in my view, this is a superbly simple achievement in Urdu on the tradition of Divine Comedy and Javed Nama. I call it simple because the author has refrained from the philosophical exploration of eschatological themes and tried to put across his simple and direct understanding of scripture.

I should say this is a must-read book.

The subject of this moving tale is so tough to write about. It's not fiction but reality-based fiction. Abu Yahya realized that our young generation is very much occupied by atheist beliefs and somehow forgetting the Day of Judgement. The author tries his best to engage his young audience through a tale whose subject based on the ground reality of the day when we'll be getting paid for all our deeds which we have done in this world. That day is unavoidable, inescapable and everyone will be under Allah's grab. It's our deeds that'll decide whether we'll be the blessed one or the humiliated one.

An eye-opener tale by Abu Yahya.

This book is a religious fiction exploring what happens when life begins again after the end of the world as we know it.

I can't help but think we may have lost something in translation from Urdu to English. The story was fascinating, informative and absorbing and strange mixture of fiction with religious predictions about the day of judgement and the life to come. All of this aligned with scriptures was eye-opening and very different. The surprise twist in end was a treat and I couldn't but wonder what happens next and if book two will be out soon.

Who would say no to never ending youth and a beautiful eternity full of perfection, beauty, grace and peace.

The catch is that you first have to pass the test of life and the fine print is that we humans chose this test called 'life on earth' and how difficult or easy we want it to be. The downside is there is a reward or a penalty to passing or failing the test of life and its many challenges. The guides that will help you navigate the test are the prophets and messengers send by God. The saboteur is the Devil (a.k.a Satan) the enemy of humanity since the creation of Adam. Humans are free to choose to follow their respective messenger from God or refuse and do their own thing. After death each person will know wither they passed or failed and judgement day (which as as long as fifty thousand years) is the ultimate day of justice.

Downsides:

The writing style did not flow easily But the author and translator (as explained in the first two chapters) were already aware of this problem and decided to keep the formate close to the original Urdu story and include the religious text such as non English words and terms. But sadly, some new words were not explained properly and the lack of reference, links or an appendix means that the story is slow in places taking away some of the enjoyment.

One major sticking point for me was the gender inequality. I know I'm going to get some backlash for this but the truth needs to be said and facts examined as far as possible. The old 'it is all fair in gender and love and anyway there is no jealousy in paradise when your husband plays with his many adoring paradise girls but you will spend eternity with your old hubby because you are so much prettier then them and anyway he loves you more etc..' This is ridiculous, ludicrous and even insulting to women!! God almighty is fair but man is weak and has many prejudices and sexism is right at the top.

I've read the authors explanations and I have also looked up the references he provided on his opinions on gender and I'm not convinced. I have looked at both sides of the debates on gender and now realise the issue is partly male ego and mostly Quranic Arabic terminology and lack of knowledge. The author himself admits that he does not have scholarly level of understanding of one or more of the different branches of knowledge within the religion. With this in mind, I'd like to point out that If, as the author say, gender roles, social hierarchy and even how people relate to each other changes completely and everyone is equal in the next world to come then it follows that women will do as they please and spend time with their numerous beautiful male partners because there is no such thing as jealousy, prejudice or physical limitations in paradise and the women have worked just as hard as their male counterpart. So ladies, Ask and you shall receive!

I want to keep this short so a more in-depth discussion/quotes using scriptures is under:

This gender issue is an ongoing debate between those extreme in their religious views and would like the women to see themselves as second class citizen's and those who approach the world in a balanced, unprejudiced non-sexist way. For those those people who have tunnel vision/blinkers on when it comes to religion and gender you need to deal with your own issues and your opinions are just that, an opinion.

Apart from the gender issue This book was surprisingly enjoyable and it was free!

I am at a loss for words to review this ULTIMATE MASTERPIECE. Abu Yahya has done an incredible incredible job. This book is about the HEREAFTER, the ultimate and inevitable TRUTH. I don't know how to describe how eye-opening, mind-boggling, yet at the same time beautiful and comforting this book is. Not a single page passed without me crying my heart out and getting goosebumps.

Do yourself a favor, READ IT IMMEDIATELY (If you are a Muslim, you must read this book. PERIOD.)

Non-Muslims can also read it if they want to.

P.S. Don’t forget to read the explanation written at the end of the book. It'll clear any doubts you might have had while reading it.

Initially I heard many times from people claiming that this book was life changing for them. This made them read the Quran with true meaning. This book made them realise of the world that is sure to come. And I definitely agree that it does change perspective in a way you can't imagine. This will challenge your weak belief, if you have, and replace it with a strong one increasing your inner strenth.
This is generally a story of an aged man Abdullah who wakes up before the Day of Judgment. He is already decided for Jannah but the situation of the Judgement day is told through his narrative. Terrifying yet so incredible work of fiction that will make you want more of it.
This book is one of its kind as I kept reading this book, I realized how far I was from the God almighty the most merciful. Though this is a work of fiction but it is just more than that. Its an idea that could be the effective force to bring you on the right path. I won't shy to admit that I had tears at some points while reading the book that I can't put into words the reason of.
So if you are looking for a new perspective for your life and want to get back onto right path after being mislead, this book is for you. ♥️♥️👌👌

"Jab Zindagi Shuru Hogi"(When life will begin), is a considerably beautiful book from the pen of Abu Yahya Sahib. Because of its extraordinary subject, the book has been translated into English and many other languages. The story of this book deliberately weaves the events of the 'HereAfter' including the Day of Judgement. The fact of the matter is that this book is indeed one of the best explanations of life after death. It beautifully describes the true meaning of the word "Achievement" which we can only attain in 'Paradise' through our good deeds.

This book, by far, was the best. Everyone who has read it knows that the awesomeness of this book cannot be described merely in words.

It may be fiction, but the lesson one gets to learn from it can go as far as to change a person's entire life and personality. The emotions in this book were also...voluminous (that's the furthest I can go to describe it). The happiness, sadness, sympathy and joy were enough to fulfil the need for it from other books.

No matter how many times I read this book, I can never be satisfied and want to read it a million times more. One gets to learn new things they may not have heard about and it also clears some doubts many people have about the Qur'an and the Hadith.

It also tells a person that they still have a chance. A really important chance that, when missed, can never be gotten back. A chance to make things right. To make yourself right. A chance that you might regret not taking, so it's better to try not to have any regrets in this life. A life that is only equal to 2, 1 day or even only some hours compared to the endless other life which is without any death. Only you can decide if having no death can be in your favour or against it.

Warning : This book is fiction and most of the things are confirmed from the Qur'an and Ahadith but some are still from the imaginings of the author of what that day will be like. In my opinion, we should not be sure of anything other than the confirmed things. The author only explained the other things to give the readers an idea, but nobody can really be sure, exactly, what it will be like.

When life begins is a fictional novel depicting the events which will take place in the Hereafter. It has brought about a positive change in the lives of thousands of people. The bone-chilling sketches of the judgement day allow the readers to visualise that which has been promised in the Quran.
The story revolves around Abdullah,a pious and God-fearing man, who is saved from the harshness of the Hereafter because of his virtue. The book follows Abdullah's perception of his surroundings, his conversation with the angel Saleh and his reunion with his family. The author has truly outdone himself! There are some parts which don't have valid sources but the author already addressed this matter in the preface that it is a mix of facts and fiction. This piece of literature instills in one's mind the awareness of accountability and the determination to please the Lord. It FORCES the readers to think about their actions! This tale leaves us with the message that worldy joys and sorrows are simply tests for us. They should never distract us from our true purpose on Earth i.e. to estabilish the laws of Islam and to follow Allah's orders so that we may attain eternal success.

This book has been Published in 2011, this is a fictional Islamic novel by Abu Yahya, whose real name is Rehan Ahmad Yousafi, it is certainly the first of its kind in Urdu literature in which the Day of Judgment has been mapped out in the form of a fictional story. The novel revolves around a character named Abdullah who, being among the righteous, learns the details of the time and place of the Resurrection through the angel "Saleh" who recorded his good deeds. While writing the novel, great care has been taken to narrate the circumstances and events in the light of Qur'an and Sunnah, thanks to author who wrote this novel for Muslim ummah, by reading this particular book one gets an outline of the action of the Day of Judgment. Written in simple language, this book is useful for everyone, young and old, who want to reflect on their own lives so that they can be happy on the Day of Judgment. It can be read at every stage of life and it'll give goosebumps along chills sometimes.
It is one of those books that has the potential to imprison you completely for a while.
Thank you so much for sharing this kind of book. It is a beautiful book. May Allah guide us to the right path. Ameen

This book will hold a special place in my heart for numerous reasons. My classmate recently died and it was his favorite book. So when I got to know about his death and started going through his social media I saw a post mentioning this book. I was devastated and heartbroken after the news of his death. But eventually I started reading this book. And to say the least, this book is mind-blowing. I had so many question regarding life after death and it had all the answers. This book is informative and realistic. It is my new fav and at the top of fav shelf with Reclaim your Heart.
