It's almost quiet time in the Sesame Street Nursery. Baby versions of our favorite Muppets are playing noisily, but then that's expected. Little Super Grover is swooping after his little nemesis, the Cookie Thief Cookie Monster. Ernie don't wanna sleep, he wants to hang on his pots and pans drum set all day. Betty Lou is knocking down buildings made of colored blocks, a sure sign of the strong Muppet woman she could become. Little Elmo is cutesy and irritating, exactly like the grown up version! (Insert lol on that!) But Granny Big Bird says now is the time for all the Baby Muppets to lie down for a quiet nap. Even Ernie, who somehow has no Bert to lie down with! (Oops! Is this bad to even say? Good. Moving on.) Toddler fans will likely enjoy this little reminder of how there's a time and place for everything: a time to laugh, a time to cry, a time to kiss your idealism goodbye (eventually), and certainly a time to get quiet, relax, and nap your cares away. Three stars Everybody sleeps!!! Even Muppets!
Unimpressive illustrations, but the simple, rhyming text fits the bill for the intended age group of 1- and 2-year-olds. Not necessarily a bedtime book. It looks more like the characters are getting ready for nap time in a group care setting, with Granny Bird taking care of them all. Has some good relaxation techniques for toddlers, like deep breathing and visualization. Ends with, "Settle down and take a rest. Sometimes quiet time is best."
