His mission was to restore law and order, but he stole my heart in the process.
Kyle was looking forward to returning to his hometown to help his father with the family business. While he expected things to be different, he could have never imaged just how much his once quiet town had changed. Crime, theft, and drugs were ruling the streets. While the police turned the other way, only one group was trying to do something about it. The second in command, Dillion, was an old family friend. Little did Kyle know, Dillion was not only there to help save his town, but to help Kyle discover true love once again.
DNF @21%. This book had an awesome premise and the author wasted it. I'm not big on downing authors because I know from experience it's an extreme amount of work. But...this book was an editing nightmare. First of all there was no background or understanding of the relationship between the MC's. There's a vague mention that they may have met once before. The characters act like they've had this long love affair from afar. It's weird. There's no background for the gangs. Charles's reason to hate his brother and bring a whole town down is because his brother is gay. Seriously? Not to mention the grammatical errors. I'm not nit picky like some. I don't care if a comma is in the wrong place as long as the story is good. What gets me is the blatant spelling errors, missing letters, and general shoddy editing of this book. At least use spell check. What a waste of a good premise!
I begin this review with an utter loss for words. What in the book world is going on with the material released by Specter? It has been months since I've been able to review an installment above a three star rating! Argh. This selection in particular was so disappointing. The author needed extreme support from a proofreader or editing professional. I am shocked that this was available for anyone to read. The main characters were difficult to connect to. The plot was actually good enough to follow to the end, but the errors made it rather frustrating. The initial intimate scenario was all over the place. I had to skip it and many other sections in order to keep my sanity. I would not recommend this title to others to read. Just disappointing.
I liked the romance aspects of the books Dillion was second in command of the Lav, a group from the old country trying to keep their towns people and businesses safe from outsiders bringing in drugs, prostitutes, and selling protection, from themselves. While Dillion is not gaining any ground Kyle returns to town to help his father in his mechanic shop. Sparks fly and they fall in love. Only to keep each other safe it is best they are not together. So much betrayal and lies, murder and danger everywhere. Honestly it was not an easy book to get through and i am a Wolf Spector fan. I did look for the HEA, and it was worth the read.
The story of Kyle and Dillon takes place in Kyle's childhood hometown which are now filled with drugs and crime. Kyle's family has been with the Lav and Dillon is it's current leader. A mafia story with motorcycles that just seem rushed. Kyle and Dillon don't seem to know each other but Kyle knows filings brother Charles. It's very fast paced and just seemed rushed. I'm still not entirely convinced on the relationship between Kyle and Dillon.
The story was well written so that's great but I just wasn't feeling it.
The book was good just not quite as good as I thought it would be, but it might take a few books to get his peak with this kind of writing, looking forward to see how well he does with new gender.
Bikers, gangs, corruption, love, life and friendship wrapped into a fantastic story. Mistakes made and rectified between the two men, when cherished turn into forever.
Huh? I wonder what was going through the authors mind when he was writing this book, i couldn't finish it not even half way through and that was pushing it.
