Spiralling Skyward: Falling

Rate this book
It only takes one defining moment.
One look.
One dance.
One conversation.
Sarah knows from the second she meets Liam that their connection is more than just instant attraction. It’s deep, it’s consuming, and has the potential to be the real thing. But true love comes at a price.
Fuelled by Liam's past, Sarah's issues, and a messy web of family ties, business partnerships, and exes, the combined forces threaten to snuff out their new found relationship. Will that spark be smothered by outside forces? Or will they be carried like smoke from the ashes and sent spiralling skywards?

Written in Lesley Jones’ usual heartfelt, witty, and emotional voice, this dual point of view story is just the beginning of her Spiralling series.

I just want to start with saying that so far, I've quite enjoyed Lesley Jones' books. They are a bit heavy on the emotional side which is no complaint from me but they are embedded with British-isms which take a bit to get used to. And this one has the added bonus of some Australia-isms...woohoo!

Liam and Sarah meet at her brother's birthday party. Her brother, Luke, has just moved home from being in Australia for two years working with Liam. Now, they've decided to start their own business here in England.

This is insta-love at its finest and even though it's not my favorite plot, I was caught up in all the emotions and couldn't put it down. And hey, the sexy times are pretty good too! ;)

description

Liam is older and more experienced so he certainly takes the lead but Sarah is not complaining, at least not about that. In four weeks time, things become very intense between the two of them before all hell breaks loose.

And boy, does it break loose. Compound that with Sarah not having the best upbringing and there's all kinds of issues...not to mention her very overprotective brother!

I really enjoyed the flair Sarah's best friend and roommate, Sasha, brought to the story. And Sarah's Nan was quite hilarious...and a little "handsy" for her own good.

Like I said, I've read some of Lesley Jones' other books so I knew something was coming. But this book is a little tricksy and does end well. However, that teaser? HOLY HELL! I cannot wait for the next book, Spiralling Skyward: Fading, to find out what could have possibly happened! Thankfully, we only have to wait till November 16, 2016 to find out!

For those of you that don’t know, The Carnage Series by Lesley Jones is one of my absolute favourite series of all time. I’ve loved it for so long and thought that there was no way anything could compare. It often consumes my thoughts and dredges up emotions that have me falling in love with Jones over and over again. So, upon deciding to review Spiralling Skywards I had no idea what to expect. I was a little bit worried. I didn’t know whether I could ever separate Lesley Jones and Carnage, would I be able to start fresh and not compare?

Devouring the book in one sitting, I turned the last page at 1 am. In a room full of silence, my heart beat erratically, my emotions overwhelmed me and these characters consumed me. Oh, and my fears. They were nowhere to be found. It was an amazing revelation to realize that whilst Spiralling Skywards and Carnage where not the same, Lesley Jones’ writing will ALWAYS have an impact on my heart, my mind and my soul. This storyline and these characters are perfection. The depth and complexity of this story and these characters are honest, pure and captivating.

Spiralling Skywards is book one in a two part series. Following Liam Delaney and Sarah Carter readers witness the spellbinding effect of an enchanting romance. Told in alternate points of view, Lesley Jones shows off the intricate thoughts and choices of these two very different individuals. In one night, their lives are forever altered. With their pasts following them at every turn; insecurities, shock, humiliation and hurt the possibility of Liam and Sarah finding their happy place seems impossible.

Written with blood, sweat and tears, each page is a collection of feelings, perfectly depicting the inevitable heartache and heartfelt moments, every relationship endures. With supporting characters that add to the drama and heighten the sentiment, book one in this series fulfills all expectations. Written with such attention to detail and authentic representation, Lesley Jones gives readers so much and leaves them, desperate for more.

Needing. Wanting. Craving, more.

Lesley can do no wrong!

This book. Gosh damn it, this book.

Why does Lesley insist on torturing me?
I thought I knew where this was going. I thought this was going to be another predictable story. But nothing, I mean nothing turned out the way I thought it was going to including that ending. I should have known better and should have remembered to trust in the wonderment that is Lesley Jones.

Bravo Lesley, you were able to hook me once again into your web of wonderful romance.

You can better your bottom dollar that I already pre-ordered book 2! *smirk*

Lesley can pull you in from the word get go, she has that magic touch. Carnage still makes me cry whenever I hear some song, some scene, and names of Georgia or Maca mentioned anywhere.
In this story too, she adds her special signature magic and brings two people from opposite sides of the world together with Insta-Love. Liam Delaney is escaping from his clawing ex, ruined marriage and general disillusionment of relationships. And where does he land, right smack dab in the bar where he meets Sarah Carter, l'il sister to his partner and bro-buddy, Luke Carter. One look at him and her sass sways overtime
My heart regrouped and swam happily and effortlessly up through my insides like a mermaid, a beautiful smiley, sparkly tailed mermaid, taking up its rightful place in my chest, before picking up its happy, euphoric rhythm.
She's off limits for a whole lotta reasons but when your heart goes South and your dick goes north, senses fly out of the window. And that's exactly what happens here. Fire meets fire and it starts blazing, albeit secretly. Soon its heat is visible for all to see and feel. The inferno that erupts, burns everybody. And I mean everybody. There's heartbreak of gigantic proportions, tears by the drums fistfights and misunderstandings like you'd wanna shake some sense into the characters and yes, there's a "whorely" Olivia.
My heart once again shattered. It had been repairing itself all day. I’d sticky taped the fractured pieces back together and then bandaged them tight, but it hadn’t been enough protection, not against him.
My emotions went through a wringer and now on to book two for more knife twisting, cause why not!
This one doesn't end in a major cliffy so to speak, but I wanna know what happens next .

Dual Spoiler Free Review of Falling Book #1 & Fading Book #2

“I love only you. I see only you. I want only you. There is only you.”

Lesley Jones wrote a story about two people – Liam and Sarah – that’s so incredibly honest and gripping. Where we’ve come from, what we’ve been through and how we measure the importance of people, wants and needs which all shape our actions and ultimately have consequences, be they good or bad. Actions speak louder than words and what’s important to one person may not be so for another. Human behaviour can be ugly in its beauty and beautiful in its ugliness. Life isn’t perfect, people aren’t perfect. Contradictions showed LIFE and we loved it!................ See full review at TBB

Lesley Jones writing is always so different from the last book she creates. I always, always, think I'm prepared for what she crafts, but I'm never prepared. I love Liam and I mean love him. This book gave me millions of butterflies and heart stopping happiness. This is such an amazing love story from the start to the finish.

Would've been a 4 star if not for the "misunderstanding" trope
Ugh

I love them for each other.
I wish I didn't read the continuation of their story in the second instalment, which is completely and utterly FUBAR, the likes of which I haven't read in a long time

If I could rate this book based on both instalments, it would be minus 500, nevermind minus zero

★Spoiler Free Review of Falling & Fading★

‘If I could, I would have kissed her heart.’

You know those books that just completely grab your emotional being and refuse to let go until you’ve devoured EVERY SINGLE page?! You know which ones we mean….the ones that frustrate, upset and annoy you so much you want to throw your kindle. The ones that shine a spotlight on human behaviour almost magnifying the raw, selfish, devastating and ugly side. The ones where you can identify with aspects, situations and behaviours and relate them to your own life or those around you.

“Never let me go.”

“Never.”

“Always hold me tight.”

“Always.”

The books that make you angry, make you melt at the romance, make your pulse beat with passion and make you ugly cry and smile from one page to the next. That complete emotional wheel spinning as you read. Well, this duet did just that, Fading more so in its intensity. Contradictions had high angst, surprising twists and dramatic antics as well as a complete case of the dreaded insta love. It literally had everything.

‘I wanted all of me to fill all of her. Her thoughts, her breaths. Each and every beat of her heart I wanted to be consumed by me. I felt angry, elated, sad, euphoric, and totally overwhelmed.’

We fell in love with all the characters, sure they all annoyed us at times but hey, people do that in real life too right?! Connecting with them all meant we felt their struggles, their love, their disappointments and their sacrifices. To err is human – to forgive divine . And there truly was a lot of that in this duet. There was also a lot of passion, laughing and swooning. It truly was quite the emotional journey and the dual POV worked so well and was very much needed as we alternately sympathised and celebrated with tragedies, insecurities, joy, heart-break and ultimately true love.

‘…she faded. Faded away right in front of me, and I didn’t even see it.’

We just couldn’t look away, it was a compelling story and our kindle’s only left our hands unwillingly. Fading was without question our favourite of the two as it had such intensity, such passion and such realism, it made us cry. Who doesn’t love it when characters make you cry, right?!

“I love only you. I see only you. I want only you. There is only you.”

Saying this, we did have a couple of issues. We sadly didn’t find much authenticity to nationality nor location of the characters. The British characters sounded Australian, and the Australians sounded like caricature Aussie’s. The way in which this duet was written – language and slang wise – we forgot we were in London as there was no true British feel. This was such a shame as it impacted our enjoyment -you see – we love to feel like we’re in the moment with our characters with that important believability and the ‘lack of’ in this regard did affect our reading. The second issue was the high number of spelling and grammatical errors.

“I fucked up, but I won’t lose you over this. I can’t.”

Lesley Jones wrote a story about two people – Liam and Sarah – that’s so incredibly honest and gripping. Where we’ve come from, what we’ve been through and how we measure the importance of people, wants and needs which all shape our actions and ultimately have consequences, be they good or bad. Insta-love is usually not my favorite but this one worked for me. I LOVED Lesley's Carnage series so I had no doubt that this would also be a hit. Forbidden/Brothers business partner/friend. Liam had come over from Australia to England for his business partner and friend Luke's surprise party and also to help get one of their business ventures of the ground. When Liam attends Lukes party and meets his sister Sarah for the first time their attraction is instant. I loved the banter with this crew, It was hysterical !! One minute they would beat the crap out of each other and then sit down for a drink. I Loved it and can't wait to move on to the next.

A NEW SOUTH AUSTRIAN.....PERFECT TO ME!!!!

Lesley Jones, never once have you failed to let me down with a book that you have written, that tradition happily has continued. WOW!!! WOW!!! WOW!!! Yet again you have knocked my socks off and sent me to a very happy place. THANK YOU!!! Every book you write is always so full of emotional thoughts, words and actions. In this one, there was surprise, friendship, anger, angst, companionship, romance and love. It was obvious from the very first chapter how much love you had put into writing this one and for that I am very grateful.

Sarah Carter is a young woman, innocent in many ways but also wild in ways that she just doesn't know it yet. Raised by her grandparents and her older brother, she has lived a fairly sheltered life, but one that has been marred by tragedy. Sarah has one fear.....she is going to turn out exactly like her mother. Her life is turned upside down, at her brother's birthday when she sees and meets Liam Delaney.

Liam Delaney, a rugged handsome Australian, who has come to England to set up a business with Luke, Sarah's brother and his best friend. Liam spots Sarah at Luke's birthday and the attraction he feels is instantaneous - he wants and desires her, like nothing ever before. But Liam has a past that could prevent her from ever being his.

I absolutely loved this book.....not surprising at all.....I love all of Lesley's books. Her characters are written in such a way that you feel that they are your friends also. All of them are strong, in their own individual way. Luke and Sarah are the quizessentail brother and sister, they love and protect each other but they also have their "lay off" moments. Liam....what can I say about Liam...he is just divine. Tender, caring, but also man enough to show his emotions to others, ready to fight for what he wants and never one to not mince his words...he's direct....just ask Olivia!!! Then there's Sasha, Sarah's roommate, oh I love her. Sassy, cheeky but upfront with what she needs to say, but always there to be a shoulder to lean on. But the one who really stole my heart was Nan, especially when she came out with the line....

"No wonder you let this one into your knickers! I wouldn't even bother wearing any around him!"

That is a classic Lesley Jones line, and that is why I love reading her books sooooooo much!!! Expect the unexpected and that is what you shall receive.

This is the first in the Spiralling Skywards Duology and I cannot wait until the second book is available. The book is told in dual POV, which enhances it, as we get to see how both Liam and Sarah deal with the situations that are thrown at them and how they process them from angles the other doesn't see.

The ending of this one had me reaching for my tissues and then.....Bam......Finished.....How could you Lesley?.....To end it like that!!!!! Then the sneak peaks.....teasing....just plain and simple teasing.....definitely ensuring that I will want to read the next one.....which was a given anyway!!!!

Absolutely FIVE STARS from this reader

I have to admit I love Lesley Jones’s stories; they are always a little different from the norm. They always grab you and make you want to read, to dive into the books and go on the journey with the characters. This one is no exception, written as always with love, hope, romance and a soupçon of angst and drama, it is a must read.
The story is about Liam and Sarah; they meet at Sarah’s brother Luke’s birthday party and things will never be the same for either of them, there is an immediate attraction for both of them. Liam is Luke’s Aussie business partner in their new venture and is in England to set things up; he had not intended to stay, but life rarely goes as you plan, does it. Both have pasts which haunt them and have shaped their lives, the question is will this get in the way or will they manage to overcome everything? Well I for one am not going to tell you.
I loved this book, I really did. The characters are great, so real and honest you just want to be their friends, part of the group. Liam is just amazing….I have to admit I have a large crush on him and Sarah’s brother Luke, they are good men, kind and caring…and of course sexy as hell! The writing, as with all Lesley’s books is really good, sharp and compelling.
This is a must read story and the first in Lesley’s new Spiralling series…I for one can’t wait for more!

Contradictions Series Review: 4.5 stars

Spiralling Skywards: Falling: 4 stars
Spiralling Skywards: Fading 5 Stars

I read Lesley Jones "Contradictions" series almost back to back (barr a couple of arcs thrown in the middle) and honest to god, this was such a raw, gripping and realistic story that I struggled to put down. I've read a few of this author's books now and I thought I had a pretty good handle on the kinds of stories she liked to tell. You know, the kind that leave your heart shredded, a pile of snotty tissues around your feet from all the tears you've shed, the ice pack at the ready because all the sexiness has left you over heated and of course her very british humour that leaves your cheeks hurting. I thought I had Lesley Jones all sussed out until I started reading "Spiralling Skywards: Falling." I hand on heart thought, wow this is a bit of a change for her. It's not half as angsty or as raunchy as (say) "Carnage" or "Conviction" and I actually thought she'd written a lovely, quite straight forward, kick your shoes off, our a glass of wine, sit back and relax kind of love story. Don't get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with that and I was actually really enjoying it. Who knew Lesley Jones could do sweet and swoony?
"Never let me go."
"Never."
"Always hold me tight."
"Always."

Well, all I can say is, boy was I lulled into a false sense of security because the minute I was hit with the first twist, I felt a shockwave of emotions that ought me completely off guard. Lesley Jones does NOT do sweet and swoon and yes she did trip my heart out with this series. Oh yes, she ripped it out, carved it up and served it up to me on a lovely silver platter. god, did Liam and Sarah's story devastate me. It was just so real and so relatable and the path it took was one I could see so many of my friends or even myself follow if I was in a similar situation.
... She didn't vanish... she faded. Faded away right in front of me, and I didn't even see it.
The characters, oh the characters. One minute I loved them. The next I wanted to give them a good slap and tell them to wake up and smell the coffee. So many mistakes were made, so many signs missed, so many assumptions made. My heart truly hurt for both Liam and Sarah at one time or another because their's was really not an easy story to read.
"I'll hold you tight every step of the way, so please don't be scared pretty girl. Don't ever be scared."
"But I'm not lovable enough for people to stick around. People leave me Liam."
I loved book one in the series but I have to admit, it really was book two that stole the show for me. I read it in a day (even though I was at work) because it was just unputdownable. It was a train wreck of a read that I just couldn't bring myself to look away from. It was just so raw and intense, my emotions to palpable as I was presented with sides to the characters that weren't always pretty and a side to their lives which was soul destroying. Even now when I think back to the book I finished an hour ago, I can start to feel the lump in my throat and the tears forming.
The main problem with being so high was that it hurt so much more when you fell.

i can't recommend this series enough. I really can't. If you want to feel gut wrenching emotions, if you want a story that is so believable, you could be reading about someone you know, if you want a book with characters you'll love and hate in equal portion, then honestly, pick this series up.

I rated the "Contradictions" series ❤️❤️❤️❤️.5

After reading both of these books, I would have to say not a bad read. I have read a lot of Ms Jones' books (Carnage being one of my all time favorites) though it's not as good as the Carnage series it was satisfying. Would recommend it. It does delve into emotions of desolation and desperation. Our main character goes through so much within a short period of time and we watch her come through to the other side.

I love Lesley Jones books. I just love reading her books because she is one of the authors who combines wit, angst, drama, heat and love to bring out an effortless masterpiece. She is that brilliant author who is able to bring us a story that we can escape to and just want to live in and totally experience. Spiralling Skywards: Falling is a totally a wonderful book experience that literally blew my mind. It was an amazing read that got my heart pumping and so excited.

Spiralling Skywards: Falling is about Liam and Sarah who meet and form an instant spark. They get to know each other and start to develop feelings for each other. Then things start to go wrong. I love reading this book. Of course I am sucker for romances that truly touch my heart and Spiralling Skywards touched my heart. I loved that there was heart and wit in this story that made me become so glued to the book. My eyes were totally glued to this book. Lesley Jones is a genius when it comes to writing a book with so much angst that totally tears my heart in two. She has a way of bringing so much emotion in a story that those emotions start to creep inside your mind, heart, mind and soul. Spiralling Skywards: Falling totally did not disappoint with the feels. You know when you are on a rollercoaster and it has so much twists and turns and all you have to do is hold on for dear life. Well, Spiralling Skywards: Falling had twists and turns that truly had my heart exploding that I had to hold on to my heart before it combusted with so much tension and emotion. I was actually going insane because I was so into the book that everything that was happening in the book, I was becoming so vocal like a deranged fool. And that's so wonderful about a book when it evokes emotion, tension, drama and angst. It is just beautiful and like I always say, it is gold in my eyes. Lesley Jones nailed it. II was so surprised with sexual tension in the book. Man, the sex scenes were so hot and totally did not overwhelm. They were placed at convenient places and I commend the author for that. I got more story. What was even more exciting was the wit. I laughed. I liked that there was angst but there were still parts that were light and of course I now know few more British and Australian slang. LOL. I might start saying them.

I loved the characters in this book. Wow. Liam and Sarah are a couple that were so believable. Their chemistry was so genuine. But what shines was their individuality that added an edge and a unique dynamic to the story. I enjoyed that. I loved Sarah. Her insecurities and weakness really tore my heart and I could relate to her because we all had insecurities that plagued our minds. However they were some times when I felt that she was too emotional and she needed to lighten up a bit but I loved how loving and caring she was to people close to her. A typical good girl persona. Liam was actually someone who I loved more because of his development in terms of relationships and letting someone in. I loved that he was protective and he was fighter willing to fight for the person he loves. It made him a very likable character in my eyes.

Overall, Spiralling Skywards: Falling was an emotional book that had a meaningful story that was relatable and also lovable. I can't wait for book 2 because with Lesley Jones, I know something major is going go down lol.

Five Spiralling Stars

I love Lesley’s writing and couldn’t have been happier when the beautiful cover stared back at me on my Kindle. I’ve read all this author’s books as she’s an expert at pulling on my heartstrings, touching my inner feelings and getting me invested in all her characters in an instant. If that’s not enough, putting her books down is an impossibility and this is exactly the case with Spiralling Skywards. Told from both protagonists’ points of view which I also love, I started reading Lesley’s new offering with great expectations and wasn’t let down in the slightest.

Figuratively speaking, the attraction between Sarah Carter and Liam Delaney is so passionate that it nearly burnt a hole in the pages! But their new relationship’s going to be tested by outside influences. There are a lot of negative goings on and far too many complications for their new relationship to grow at a pace they would have liked. Liam is Sarah’s brother’s business partner, Luke. He is older than his sister, highly protective of her, and this is one of the reasons for them keeping their affair quiet. I truly understood why they’d decided to not to let on and you’ll only find out by reading the book.

So the two get to know each other in secret. What I thought at first is how Sarah came across strong in one way but beneath the surface, she was like a broken little girl and extremely naïve. Liam is a hot, sexy man and is a lot more experienced, and a bit of a baggage made me wonder how it was going to unravel.

There are some extremely sizzling moments between the two that will make the reader’s toes curl. Lesley certainly knows how to write a steamy scene. I didn't warm to Sarah straight off but as the story unfolded, I understood her more and began to warm to her. Liam. Well. . . I was instantly attracted to him myself! The side characters Sasha, Luke and Will, even Sarah and Luke's grandparents are fabulous folk and I'm hoping there will be more of them in the next instalment.

Sarah and Luke Carter hadn’t had an easy childhood. Discovering what they’d been through gave me an indication as to why were like they were and I couldn’t have sympathised with them more. I loved the banter which had me smiling and the closeness between them, too.

I have to mention the music. One track that Sarah and Liam called their own has become very special to me. There’s a Spotify playlist to complement the book that is absolutely marvellous. Despite thinking throughout how different this read is to what Lesley normally writes, it’s still a rollercoaster of happenings and emotion that we get in all her books.

Five spiralling stars are awarded although I was bordering on four. After letting the story sink in and listening to the playlist, it left me thinking and desperate for the second part in the series. When a story makes me feel like that, it's worthy of this rating. I realise now that it’s going to get people thinking and desperate to get their hands on the follow-up. Cleverly written and full of twists and turns, I don’t doubt a couple of surprises are on the cards for us.

As a New South Austrian, I loved this book from the first word to the last - but then again, Lesley Jones captivates me every single time.

Liam and Sarah's didn't have me in the corner, rocking back and forward in a crying mess like her other books, it did bring out all the emotions. I laughed out loud, I was happy, I was sad, I was frustrated and angry and I may have yelled at her a few times as I was reading.

I enjoyed the banter between the characters, the way they bitch at each other like only close friends can.

And what do we always say - secrets never remain secrets and things never go well when they are revealed. Communicate people!!

I love love loved Liam - even when I didn't like him at times.

There were some great secondary characters that I would love to learn more of.

So now Ms Jones I need more. This week would be good!

I'm going to admit that this is the first book I read from this author and I am absolutely in aw of how marvelous this book was.

The anticipation is going to literally kill me waiting for the 2nd installment to be released!

It literally blew me away!

This story really betwitched me, I was intrigued and consumed by the story between Liam and Sarah.

A woman with insecurities and never had a serious relationship in her 22 years of life. She always believed that she was just like her mother and that no man would ever take her serious or love her the way she should be loved. The only love she's ever known is that of her other brother Luke and her Grandparents who raised them.

Sarah then meets Liam, Luke's business partner and from the first time they laid eyes on each other, they were both smitten. Liam instantly knew that he had to have this woman at any cost. He didn't know at first that this was Luke's sister and Luke's best friend Will had a thing for Sarah except he always said it was complicated and didn't know how to approach Luke nor Sarah for that fact and admit his feelings for her. Sarah had a major crush on Will when she was younger but as the years passed, her crush disappeared and now only saw him like a big brother. I guess you can say that Will was pretty much too late!

When Liam and Sarah start taking to each other and start getting to know each other, right off the bat Liam withholds important information from her and the one thing that Sarah doesn't tolerate is lies and deceit.

When Sarah finds out that Liam has been holding back secrets that could eventually lead to them not being together, she really blows her lid. Liam was afraid of this happening and that's why he didn't want to tell her what was going on with his life. He was afraid of losing her because he knew right off the bat how much he started caring for Sarah so quickly.

Can Sarah forgive and forget so easily or will Liam lose the one woman that he's ever cared about?

5 emotionally wonderful stars!! I was worried I couldn't read an Aussie/English book but I loved every word!!
Liam is a hot Australian who is currently running his family's business. He has a new venture starting in England and his business partner, Luke is having a surprise 30th bday party in England so why not fly out and kill two birds with one stone. Very first night in town he lands eyes on his everything. Liam knows before he even speaks to her that she will be his. Little problem is it's Luke's little sister and he is pretty sure Luke's best friend has a thing for her. Oh and still being married is not always good on trying to get chicks...
Sarah aka Luke's little sister is happy her brother is back home and boy did he bring a hot man back with him. Problem is Sarah does not sleep around, she refuses to be a whore like her mother. But this man stole her heart at first glance. Can she get past her demons and actually have something if not just for a short while?!?!
Oh my I loved all the characters in this book, the author has excellent character development! Let me start with Liam, ummm he is totally yummy!!! Ok he pissed me off a few times but he is everything you want in a man. If it wasn't for the nasty bitch Olivia everything would be perfect. Now Luke, her brother can be a total ass and he is driving me nuts not seeing what him and Sasha could have. Uggh!!! And poor Will. Well I think Will missed his shot plus I get a creepy vibe I just hope he finds someone. Now on to Sarah...poor Sarah has so much from her childhood to work through. And she frustrated me so many times. But I think Liam was just right for her.
This book had me laughing non stop. This is a very well rounded book and is a must read. Even her nan is just the funniest little old lady. I am dying knowing this was only part one. I NEED the next one ASAP.

I really really enjoyed this book, like all of Lesley's books it is very well written with lots of emotion love and angst. As soon as you open the book and start to read, you know it's a Lesley Jones special. Her use of British mannerisms, her sense of humour even in the darkest of moments always brings a big smile to my face and I found myself chuckling away more than once. When this lady writes a book she draws you into the characters live's so you feel like you totally belong with them, in their home, their world and into their hearts.
Sarah and Liam meet at her brothers birthday party and it's like lightning has struck them both, it's an instant attraction, especially for Liam, the chemistry is undeniable. He is over from Australia to open a new business venture with Sarah's brother Luke whom he has known for a while. Liam has secrets, which could make or break them, their journey is a very one interesting indeed and as Sarah has some serious doubts about her own abilities as an adult, this all goes into the mixed bag of making a relationship work - or not.
The characters were wonderfully receptive and my heart warmed to them all, but I think Luke and Liam melted my heart just that little bit more than the others. Sarah - I am still not too sure about, I didn't warm to her as much as I thought I might do.
All in all a very emotional, sweet and loving book, I got frustrated at times but it was so worth it as there is a second book in this series and I'm needing it like NOW please !!!!
Another fabulous book from Lesley who never lets you down in the emotion stakes, you always know your in for a brilliant ride with a Lesley Jones book and this was no exception. Awesome !!!!

I just love Lesley Jones’ style of writing and Spiralling Skywards is once again a joy to read. I just feel a connection to the characters that this author creates and when the banter is flowing between them it’s like being with a group of friends laughing at the good humoured insults that occur. And Lesley has created another group of friends that I want to join down at the pub every week.

The main characters Liam and Sarah are fantastic, they both have their own issues that seem to be the result of their pasts and pressures brought about by their family lives, though at times due to their own interpretations of them. Though they are coming from completely opposite ends of the spectrum in many senses they connect instantly and you are rooting for this couple to get it right from the offset. Liam has a past he is trying to resolve and Sarah has a past that has left her scarred, when Liam's omissions of facts catch up with them they are left trying to cope with the fallout.

I was hooked from the start and read this in one sitting with an air of anticipation waiting for Lesley to pull the rug at any minute, till I got to the end and was left smiling. There is some angst but not the heart ripping kind, there is the character you want to poke in the eye and there is the supporting cast of characters that keep the banter flowing even in the midst of the angst. Then there was the sneak look at the next installment of this series and the Kindle throwing occurred. Lesley Jones you are evil.

I can’t wait for book two now but I am also hoping this series expands to include stories on some of the supporting characters that I would like to know more from.

Arc received from author for honest review.

This will not be a long review, as I don’t want to give anything away from it, you just need to read it. if you love Lesley’s books you will love this one.

I have read all Lesley’s books and I have to say I think this is my Favourite next to Carnage of course.

Lesley writing is great, I love the feelings she can bring out in me while reading, Although I will admit this book didn’t make me cry like others she has written. But hell I was annoyed a couple of times and screaming at my kindle. Then I was so happy…. Then BAM I need book 2 Now! lol

The characters are very likeable and the actual story keeps you hooked.

Liam and Sarah hit it off right from the start I Loved the connection they had and the chemistry.
I really liked them together.

But Liam has secrets.

Also Sarah’s Brother Luke is Liam best friend.

Can their relationship survive or when the secrets are revealed will it tear them apart?
I really like Luke, Sasha, and Will I have a soft spot for him too.

Sarah’s Grandparents are great too Nan and Grandad, I would have loved to have them as mine.

Nan really made me laugh with her flirting towards Liam.

Loved the Banter between the guys in this book as well, made me giggle a few times.

The book will keep you turning the page to find out what happens.

Thank you Lesley for another amazing book. Bring on the next instalment.

I am truly a hopeless romantic and Lesley Jones writes romance like no other! I have LOVED all of her book but this just might be my favorite. I am going to try hard not say to much storyline related because I want everyone to read and enjoy every word just as I did.
This story grabbed me from the very beginning and never let go just like her others there is romance, laughter, sexy times and a boatload of angst.
Spiraling definitely belongs in the title as I was spinning through the story. Honestly scared, not knowing how this story was going to go. If you have read her other books you understand!
The way Lesley writes a story it doesn't matter if she is making you laugh, breaking your heart or making you so mad you want to choke a character or two you keep reading because you can't stop. She makes you feel!!! And there is nothing better than that. This book does that and more.
I can't believe I am saying this..... but Liam may have replaced Shawn as my favorite Lesley Jones BBF. Good lord I can't wait for the next one!!

I was so fortunate to receive an ARC for an honest review.
Wow, once again Lesley Jones has blown me out of the water! I love Lesley’s writing style, and this one is no different. This story is full of angst, humour, emotion, and love. It is difficult to write this review without spoilers, as I just want to rave, but that is not fair to others!
When Liam and Sarah meet there is an instant and intense chemistry between them. But there are twists and turns throughout. These two main characters are strong, sweet, and loving. Loved the secondary characters as well, and the banter and humour is awesome.
I adore Lesley’s work, and I always expect the unexpected with her writing, and she never disappoints. I was captivated and intrigued throughout, and just know that this is going to be an emotional rollercoaster of a ride. I really, really need the second book of this series now!!! Brilliant job Lesley, as always!

OMG!!!

this is my first Lesley Jones book and all I keep thinking is, why? why has it taken me so long to read any of her work?

Liam, a hunky Australian, comes over to England for business but he gets more than he expected on his business trip in the form of Sarah!

this book will have you going up and down more than a whores knickers! it's a roller coaster of a ride of emotions! my heart ached and I felt my throat burn with tears at parts! I felt myself wanting to throw my kindle at one point and shouted at it a few times! but wow! did I love every bumpy ride!!

I can't wait for part two! I'm hoping for a happily ever after. but who knows with these two!

well done Lesley!!

Lesley Jones has a way of fooling you into thinking you're reading a fantastic book.......well you are really but what you don't realise it's that you're about to have your heart played with, mildly ripped from your body, handed back to you and then just after you've taped it back together, she'll do it all over again.
Lesley writes characters that are so fantastically developed and the storyline.......well that's where the heart stomping happens.

I adore Lesley, and was desperate to read this book. From the very start I fell in love with Liam. He was a joy to read. I wasn't keen on Sarah though, I don't know why but something about her character niggled me.
I can't wait for book 2 now, I just hope it doesn't destroy me like Carnage did.

Spiralling Skywards: Book One Falling …by Lesley Jones
Liam meets his business partners little sister, Sarah. Immediately, he is smitten with her. They decide to keep the romance hidden for four weeks. When they decide to come clean there is a surprise waiting for both of them. Can Sarah ever trust Liam or will he continue to lie to her. Can Liam redeem himself? Will Sarah always have the fear of becoming her mother? I am usually a huge fan of Lesley Jones. She has a way of effortlessly drawing you in and taking you on an emotional journey. Unfortunately for me this story was predictable and the main characters were immature. I did not feel the connection between the characters and at times I was bored. I felt like there were too many filler pages and not enough action. The plot had so much to work with and yet I felt like it was missing something. Overall it was an okay read for me.
