Family Man
WANTED FAMILY MAN. MUST LOVE CHILDREN. PAYMENT NEGOTIABLE. Rider Magrane knew what "wanted" meant; he'd spent time running from the law. Those days were over now, and he'd come back to Drover to make amends. But the man he's wronged was no longer in town. Instead he found the most appealing woman he'd ever met -- Jane Warner -- and she thought that he'd come about the ad he now held in his hand. To be near her was tempting, but what did a cattle rustler know about children -- or love? Jane had posted the ad to lure a capable male into caring for her nephews -- she herself had never been part of the deal. But examining the hunk that appeared at her homestead, all she could think of were the good aspects of having a man in her life. She dreamt of him running rough hands along her soft flesh and devouring her with kisses deeper than a moonless Kansas night. The payment was she'd said so herself. No price was too dear for this handsome stranger's heart.

It was ok.
I was really enjoying this book until about 75%
There was a nice slow build up with the romance and it seemed like it would be a nice (and safe) comfort read. There was humor, and lovable characters. I could have done without so much stuff about the children.
The first thing that I did't like, is the plain looking heroine. But I will admit, although plain, she was still able to ignite the H's passion. So that I was able to overlook. The next thing I disliked was the secret keeping. But again, the author did well with making the secrets seem unimportant. The h didn't want to know the H's secrets about his past and said it didn't matter and refused to hear it several times when the h wanted to tell her.
But what really almost became a DNF was the author ruining the romance by having this "virgin hero" say ", this almost made me end the book right then and there. I however was able to continue and put those references behind me. I don't know how.
I enjoyed the humor, and the low amount of anxiety I felt about the potential danger of the characters. I never really felt that things wouldn't get resolved. The H was a really sweet guy and the h was strong. For most, this would be a great read. I just don't enjoy knowing about a hero's past detail with OW. Personal preference. To me, this is not romantic.
